![]() "Make a Move" by Icon for Hire, the theme song for After Effect hits as the cameras go live to Winston Wolfe sitting at his desk in the After Effect Studios. Sitting next to him is the new General Manager of Adrenaline Rush; Criss Mathews. Winston Wolfe: Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to yet another episode of the After Effect here on the TWN! I am sitting here next to the new Adrenaline Rush General Manager Criss Mathews. Thanks for joining me here tonight Mr. Mathews. Criss Mathews: Thanks Winston I am glad to be here tonight. Winston Wolfe: As may of us seen just a week or so ago you were hired by Mr. Hendrickson as the General Manager of Adrenaline Rush replacing the ineffective Sinclair Sisters. Now your first action as a GM was to put Thorn's hatred for wrestling women on the line when his partner Wither goes up against Cassidy Haze. And then you suspended Justin Justice for 30 Days following the attack on Nikki Monroe's brother Grant. I want to know, as well as many out there do, what was it like coming in with a live grenade in hand so to speak? Criss Mathews: Well much like CM Punk and his pipebombs I needed to do what was needed to make an impression. I needed to make an impact and there is no better way to do that then coming in hot. So now that I have suspended Justin Justice I have eleviated some stress in the UCW as the impact of the lawsuit won't be as severe. Then the fact that I had to force Thorn into a match was not what I wanted to do but had to. We don't need insubordinate employees here not at this point in the company. Winston Wolfe: Indeed we do not. I know you've had a busy two weeks and I know that the announcement of the Duke of Wrestling Champiomship Battle Royal was a big thing this week. Do you believe you are casting a much larger net by opening it up to everyone under the450 Community banner? Criss Mathews: That's exactly what we wanted. We are happy with the talent we have here but as a new start up Independent company we need more competition. The best way to do this is to cast a large net and see whom we can capture and bring in. We have a few wrestling companies under our banner but many more whom are affiliated with us. We hope to see some great Independent talent from other companies in our battle royal. Winston Wolfe: Do you think if another companies talent happens to beat someone in 450WRESTLING that they will leave with the championship or stay? Criss Mathews: Within the 1-Day contract outside talent must sign to participate there is a clause. Within this clause it states if any outside talent wins the Duke of Wrestling Championship they must sign a 3 month contract with the company. If they happen to lose the championship before the 3 month contract is up they may leave but if they do not they have to sign an extension until they do. We will NOT allow the championship to go elsewhere. Winston Wolfe: With that being said not many people know who you are outside of the inner circle here in 450WRESTLING. Can you tell us a little about yourself? Criss Mathews: Well as you know I use to be a wrestler myself for Mr. Hendrickson's debut company the SXWA. At which point I won a few championships along the way including the SXWA World Heavyweight Championship. After that I retired from wrestling and opened a training school right here in Minneapolis called The Trax. I have trained many superstars over my years and a few are here today. Winston Wolfe: If I am not mistaken some of the talent you've trained are Trent James, Cash Allan and also Nikki Monroe but Trent James was her main trainer. Am I correct? Criss Mathews: You are correct. Trent has been a trainer at my school for a couple years now and he is a great talent as well as a superb trainer. I have seen talent come and talent go through the Trax to many different companies and win championships. It definitely has humbled me over years and made me a better man. I live threw them each and everyday they step from behind the curtain and into that ring. Winston Wolfe: May I ask why you retired from wrestling so early in your career? Criss Mathews: Well I had to retire due to too many stress fractures in my lower back caused by the violent matches I was in. I was told if I were to continue on with such violent matches I would be paralyzed and that is something I couldn't risk. So after the SXWA closed it's doors I walked away from the business to teach others how to safetly work inside the ring. It is what I have done since. Winston Wolfe: I've seen some of your matches in the SXWA and even earlier than that in the CWA against such persons as Big Gun, The Underdog, Emerico and others. Those were some vicious matches. You put your body to the test thats for sure. Criss Mathews: That they were. I was also in another two companies after but nothing much more than a match here and there. But I am happy where I am right now. Working on training the future and watching them succeed. Now I get to witness it first hand and also get a chance to mold the matches inwhich they will partake in. I think that in the end it is the circle of life here in the business. You compete, You retire, You teach and you are humbled. At least that's how I see it. Winston Wolfe: If you were able to do it all over again would you? And if so what would you do different? Criss Mathews: I wouldn't do anything over. I had a blockbuster career and had worked some amazing matches with some greats. I didn't have much left in my tank towards the end anyways. I ran myself ragged and I believe it would've happened sooner or later so why not bow out when I was on top you know? Winston Wolfe: I agree with your philosophy. Well I don't want to cut this short Mr. Mathews but we are coming to the end of our show here tonight. I always give people a chance to say whatever is on there mind and I will extend that to you as well. So right now it's your time to air the laundry so to speak. Criss Mathews: Well thank you Winston. I want all of the talent here in 450WRESTLING to note that we will not allow our superstars to pull patrons out of the crowd and assault them. We will do to what we did to Justin Justice to you. We will give you the benefit of the doubt and we will go case by case but we will not allow such blatant acts of aggression on those who help pay your pay checks. We want the crowds to grow and not diminish over time. With more paying patrons we can have more shows. With more shows our company will grow and with the growth we can expand out territory. That's what we want to do. We want to give the fans of 450WRESTLING the best show they have ever seen and to do so we need to promise a safe enviroment. Bottom line the fans leave happy, we the Management team will be happy and in turn the wrestlers will be happy. That's how myself and Mr. Hendrickson want to run 450WRESTLING. I think that about does it for me Mr. Wolfe. Criss Mathews turns toward Winston Wolfe and shrugs his shoulders and lets out a chuckle. Winston Wolfe: Well thank you once again Mr. Mathews for joining me here tonight. I must say this was a treat for me as I have been a fan for years. Criss Mathews: Why thank you Mr. Wolfe that means a lot to me. Thank you for having me come on tonight. This has been a good experience. Winston Wolfe: Well folks this has been yet another edition of After Effect. I want to thank Mr. Mathews and you for joining me here on the TWN. Until next time, God Bless and Good Night. 'Make A Move' hits as Winston and Criss begin to banter back and forth and the show slowly comes to an end. ![]() |
