Open ended, general chat threads are always fun. I've seen similar threads at several forums, and I've created a few at other forums. Sounds like a great idea to me. ![]() The first unbound type thread I created was called "1000 replies or bust". The concept of the thread was to have one thread reach over 1000 replies. It took a little while, but the thread finally surpassed the 1000 reply mark, and was so liked that it was renamed "The Thread That Never Ends" and is still active today (2 years later). Good memories, good memories.

Someone told me a while back that if you put a raw egg in your hair for half and hour before you wash it then it'll condition your hair better than any commercial product. At first I was skeptical, but I tried it and it works. Although, the egg tends to dry out. However, I've stumbled upon something that works even better: Take a raw egg whisk it until combined. Then add a spoonful of mayonnaise, whisk until smooth. Finally, drizzle in a few tablespoons of white vinegar. Message that into your hair and scalp, then cover your head with either a shower cap or clear wrap to prevent the mixture from oozing down your neck. Wait half an hour then shampoo once. Do that once a week and you'll have better hair than movie stars.

You my friend, are a weirdo. Nah I'm only kidding, but I gotta say I won't be putting eggs, vinegar or mayonaise in my hair anytime soon. |

Well, there are other ways to get healthy hair: --Rub olive oil in your hair before you go to sleep, wash it out the next morning. --Press an avocado until it becomes a paste. Message that into your hair. Wait half an hour and wash it out. --Apply coco butter to your hair before you go to sleep. Wash it out the next morning. Yup, food isn't just for eating anymore. |

I think I'm going to try some of this when my hair gets a little longer. I'm going to try and grow my hair out to about Snitsky length. I've tried to grow it many times, but I always wind up cutting it, for whatever reason. This time, however, I want to let it grow because it could be my last chance to have it grow out long and let it be fairly thick. I don't want to have a bald head and wish I would've gone through with the growing out process (which takes a very long time with me). What if you did all the things for healthy hair? Do you think you'd wind up the same, better, or worse? My hair is very dry (I have the same hair type as Foley, unfortunately) and nothing seems to really soften it and make it shine. |

If you have dry hair, then try any of the above and you'll be suprised at the difference. Although, you must fight the urge to shampoo more than once or it'll dry your hair back out. Just rinse real well before and after you shampoo. Also, avoid using any heat to dry your hair (hair dryer) since that dries your hour out as well. And if it's possible, then do not brush or style your hair until it's completely dry. BTW, if you have really, really dry hair then consider substituding the mayo with plain yogurt. |

I may need to take those tips up. My hair is pathetic and the colour is fading (it is coloured). How do you stop that happening? |

My hair is red, and curly. If I try to grow it out, I end up looking like Ronald McDonald. Lately I've been coming over the front to look more like Conan O'Briens hair, instead of Ronalds. Due to this, my hair is always dry, no matter what. It is also, like Fittes's, fading at the front and sides. However it's darkening at the top to the point where it's almost a brownish colour. So red at the back, blonde at the sides and brown at the front and top. Weird. |

A few more pieces of hair advice, and I'll quite I swear: If you have dry hair but don't feel like putting a raw egg in your hair, then simply dampen your hair with white vinegar before you shower. It'll help make your hair shiny. The longer you let it stay in your hair, the better it works. Also, if you use a lot of hair products (Shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, hair gel, etc) then that can make your hair dull and dry looking. All those products have chemicals in them that stick to your hair. Those chemicals are what makes the product work. Over time, these chemicals can build up on your hair, thus making it dull in appearance. You can wash off these built up chemicals by simply mixing equal parts backing soda and shampoo. Rub that into your hair, then wash it out. Finally, beer is a great hair conditioner. Pour some over your hair before you wash it and it'll come out shinier and softer. The longer you let it stay, the better it'll work. So the next time you are at that party and start hosing that keg while upside down, then let some of that beer slip out of your mouth and moisten your hair. People will just think you are a sloppy drunk, but they'll marvel at your hair tomorrow. Ok, so they won't marvel, but you'll notice the difference. |

Nothing to talk about? Why, that's when you gotta dig the deepest into your soul and...you know what, go with your instinct and not post. Yeah. The less we know what's in the deepest part of your soul, then the longer we can all go without sleeping in shifts.

Or you simply say something somewhat useless, that inspires conversation. Like: I have to drive up to the petrol station shortly, which will be my third drive since I got my provisional licence. In Australia, Provisional licences (commonly called "P's") are given after you finish learning. Learning involves 50 hours with a fully qualified driver, and never driving by yourself. Once you've done that, you go for a driving test which involves negotiating the normal traffic lights, roundabouts, slip lanes and intersections, as well as a three point turn, a reverse parrallel park, and then a kerbside stop. If you pass that (which I did first go, 100%), you can drive by yourself, but your speed is limited to 90km/h. After a year, you can go for your P2, or "green P's", which involves passing a computerised hazard perception test. Your speed limit is raised to 100km/h (60m/h), and after a year of that, you go for another driving test, if you pass, you get an unrestricted licence. |

Wow, America has a much different practice for issuing drivers license. First, you get a copy of the driving manual from the DMV and study it. This isn't required, but its common sense to study before you take a test. Then you go take a written test (now computerized). The test consists of about 20 or 30 questions about driving, many of which are common sense to anyone that has ever been in an operating car before. If you pass that test, then you are issued a permit. While you have the permit, you are required to be accompanied by a licensed driver over the age of 21 that has had his/her own license for at least a year. After you've had your permit for 2 weeks, then you are allowed to take the road test (similar to the one you described). If you pass, you get your license. If you fail, you come back in 2 weeks. There are no required hours needed before you can take the test. Also, if you are under 18 then your license are restricted for the first year, meaning you cannot drive after dark. After a full year, the restrictions are removed and you can drive whenever. Of course, the tests may vary from state-to-state. That's the way things are handled in my state. |

After two weeks of having your permit, you get to get your license? I (and those who I know of) had to have a permit for about six months before I could get my real license.
Other than that, it was pretty much the same except for th DMV part since we don't have one (we use the sheriff's station instead). |

We have the computer test to get the Learner's licence, but 50 hours seems a lot more sensible then two weeks. Whoever though of that idea, in the words of a generic black rapper, was whacked! |

It's been 8 years since I got my license. The way I stated above was the system when I first got my license. However, things have apparently changed. I just checked the South Carolina DMV website, and beginners permits now have the following restrictions:

A little of all 3......sike, I go to therapy for my back cause I do or actually did HVAC work and had messed it up and have been out since last year around Memorial Day, so I've been going their every day, well at least every work day, I am getting a little better but I just have to take it easy, I can only do so much before I have to rest, it sucks at times but what can you do. I might have to get injections in my back cause my joints are messed up and I guess whatever they are putting in me is suppose to pin point where it's hurting at and suppose to make it better, I have my doubts and my doctor said that the worst thing that can happen is nothing, so I went to court once before for this cause the insurance people were being dicks and were'nt trying to pay me so I had to hire a lawyer and went through a whole process which sucked but it's gonna suck even more if I have to go back and deal those idiots again. I really can't stand greedy people, they are so full of themselves to cause they are sending me to their own doctor cause my ones are'nt good enough for them, even though I go to 2 different ones. So my days fill up with doing realy nothing but going there and coming home, coming online for a bit then watch tv and that's about it, though I have alot of things in March to do, which I might make a thread about, or probably just say it here, I am still waiting on one more thing to come in the mail and once that arrives, I will announce my nice activities I am gonna have going on. |
