Damnit! I'm such an idiot! On my Chemestry test, for the definition of "Plasma," I put "When atoms are energized, they break away from the neutrons." I meant electrons! If I would have put that, I would have gotten a 100! Damn, I hate myself! |

This is currently the most viewed thing on YouTube. I find it boring. I couldn't even make it through the entire thing. This is also very stupid, yet is one of the highest viewed things on YouTube currently. This is both highly viewed and highly entertaining. "Who the fuck are you!?" The Daily Show rules! |

I didn't call "every single one of the games" a Mario clone. I said, in a sarcastic way, that the system is dominated by Mario related titles, something that I believe is obvious. I said that Nintendo's first thought when making a game is to "think of an activity and place Mario in the title" because that is what it seems like they do. It seems that the majority of the titles for the Gamecube are games that take an idea that has nothing to do with Mario (like baseball or soccer) and tack on Mario and his pals. And if they're not doing that, then they find another way to whore out the Mario image, by perhaps releasing another Mario Party or Mario Kart Racing game. I would even dare to say that most of these games (except for perhaps Super Smash Bros.) aren't even filled with good characters. There are a few classic characters like Mario, Luigi, or Bowser Koopa, but the game padded out with lame characters like Waluigi, Princess Daisy, and Donkey Kong (who, other than that bongo/drum game a few years back hasn't had a decent title since the early 90s). Nintendo has created or has taken part in bringing us many memorable characters, but they've also used characters like Mario as a crutch for years now when they can't think of anything new or when people aren't buying their attempts at making new characters. I am a Gamecube owner. I've had the system for about three years or so now. In that three year period, I've played many games for it. Nowhere near as many as I have for the XBOX and very, very far from the amount of games I've played for the PS2 - but I've played alot of games on the Gamecube and I've spent many hours of my life playing it. Since owning the system, I've paid attention to what games come out for it because I'm always interested in expanding my playing library. I've watched the shelves at stores, video rental places, and I've paid attention to released games through video game shows on television (though those shows are going away now). There have been a few games that have stood out, but not very many. Unfortunately for the people that aren't suffering from Mario fever, it seems like almost every game they release has something to do with Mario. They'll give everyone a little taste of variety, a little taste of the odd Japanese games, and a mouthful of Mario. If the Wii takes the same direction when it comes to game ideas (though the Wii has even more generic titles coming since they want to really play out the "wand" gimmick), then I wouldn't doubt it if it repeats the Gamecube's level of success - which is little compared to the XBOX and PS2. I've been with Nintendo since the NES. It was my first system. I also played and own the SNES, N64, and the Gameboy Advance (used to own the original Gameboy, too). I don't hate Nintendo, but I do hate their habits. And honestly, if they don't change it and they continue to primarily focus on Mario titles, then I think the company will be better off dead - or at least they'd be better off following SEGA's footsteps and just stepping out of the console world altogether. Then they can focus on just Mario titles like they seem to really want to do.
I have to disagree about that. I think the Gamecube controller may be the worst controller since the mid-90s (though the Wii controller may soon take that title). It's very, very ugly and the buttons just don't feel right. The analog stick, c-stick, shoulder buttons, and the d-pad all feel like they belong to a cheap controller that you buy for half the price of the normal ones. They're both loose and flimsy feeling. And the Z button? Possibly the worst place for it. The only decent thing about the controller is that the shoulder buttons fit fingers great and the A and B buttons don't completely suck. The best Nintendo controller was easily the SNES one, which is part of the reason why I love the PS2 controller so much. The design of the PS2 (and PS3) controller is very much like an evolved SNES controller (which makes sense since the Playstation was originally a Nintendo plan). I'd like the controller to have longer handles and for it to be wider so the analog sticks are so close to eachother, but it's probably my favorite controller yet. And the XBOX controller is very good for FPS games. It's pretty much the perfect FPS controller. I'm sure I would've enjoyed Metroid Prime better if I could've used that controller. But for most everything else, it's just okay. Though it's really great for KOtoR. |

Hey guys. Have you ever had a weird dream which made no sense? Well last night I dremed that I was at a WWE supershow in the back, Lashley was talking to Torrie Wilson and Shelton Benjamin was walking in the back, all of a sudden Lashley began to beat Torrie up with weapons and one of the men in the back was wheeling equipment to the enterence when he ran Shelton over and Shelton was cut open with his right leg cut off. He was then run over again and lost his other leg and an Arm, I ten woke up in a freezing cold sweat. Do you think that means anything? |
