You mean American Football? No. Rugby was around long before that pansy, useless, over glorified piece of garbage juice that you call American Football (or simply, football) was around.

I spit on your football, and your padded up players.

One man with a bat stands opposite a man with a ball. The ball man throws his ball at the bat man with the intention of knocking down the pins behind him. The bat man attempts to hit the ball as far as possible (scoring either a certain number of runs, or if it goes out of the boundaries, the set score of 6) so he can score the aforementioned runs. The bored men standing on the field attempt to catch this ball. If they catch it on the full, the bat man is out, if not, they attempt to throw it at the pins to get the bat man out.

Repeat for days on end for utter boredom.

I have a question. Why is American football called football when played with hands?

Why couldn't you have called that soccer?

I guess it's called that because most of the game is running, so that's why it's called football.

So why don't they name Running- Footshoe or Golf Foot Stick?

That is my point.

Football is football because "
Quote:

While it is widely believed that the word football, or "foot ball", originated in reference to the action of a foot kicking a ball, there is a rival explanation, which has it that football originally referred to a variety of games in medieval Europe, which were played on foot.[1] These games were usually played by peasants, as opposed to the horse-riding sports often played by aristocrats. While there is no conclusive evidence for this explanation, the word football has always implied a variety of games played on foot, not just those that involved kicking a ball. In some cases, the word football has been applied to games which have specifically outlawed kicking the ball. (See football (word) for more details.)

All football games involve scoring with a spherical or ellipsoidal ball (itself called a football), by moving the ball into, onto, or over a goal area or line defended by the opposing team. Many of the modern games have their origins in England, but many peoples around the world have played games which involved kicking and/or carrying a ball since ancient times.

The object of all football games is to advance the ball by kicking, running with, or passing and catching, either to the opponent's end of the field where points or goals can be scored by, depending on the game, putting the ball across the goal line between posts and under a crossbar, putting the ball between upright posts (and possibly over a crossbar), or advancing the ball across the opponent's goal line while maintaining possession of the ball.

Damn right RK, and I enjoy it, even whatever is written about it! Ha ha even though some make it an ego thing and make the sport unwatchable, err atleast the team they are on or if they are on tv on one of the sports shows.

Plus it's a good excuse to get drunk and cook out in freezing ass weather.

American football sucks. Plain and simple. At least soccer has some degree of excitement behind it. American football consists of padded up, steroid pumped wimps ramming themselves into each other shouting nonsense like "HUT" and "HIKE" while throwing the ball from a line of wimps, to some guy who runs over a line. They do this for about 2 seconds, before calling a 5 minute break. At the middle of all these breaks (in total), is a half time show which consists of fake boobs, cruddy floats and an untalented singer.

I call it American football, because 95% of the world calls soccer, football. I agree with 95% of the world.

How to tell rugby from football:

In Rugby, You run whilst holding the ball.
In football, if you did that, you would look like a fuckwit.

Well, thank you. As soon as I finish it, it will be up on Myspace. I think it may be done by the end of next week. (It could be sooner, but I have plans this weekend)

My day was annoying. I thought there'd be a nice one hour exam summary lecture today, so I did my one and a half hour commute this morning to find out that it was 20 minutes. All up: 3+ hours of commuting, 20 minutes of what could be called education.

Great. Finals start today. Since I don't have a 1st period, I don't have to go in until around 10:00 (Eastern) today, and since it's a half a day, I get to leave at 12:30. The French Final is today, which I am not fond of.

I am gonna go off the subject of whatever is being talked about but friday is here and the weekend starts, anyone have any plans?

Tonight I might just be chillin, or not, we'll see, tomorrow I'm gonna be going to some shrimp feast where there will be lots of seafood and alcohol ha ha.

Sunday will be great, I'll be getting the ONS ppv and ordering pizza, yep, I used to do that when I was younger whenever I got a WWF or WCW ppv and gathered all my friends to watch it, the first time I did that was Wrestlemania VI which I still have fond memories of, man, I miss those days.

Well, continuing "off the subject," I am indeed very busy this weekend. I am going to my friend's sweet 16 party, and I am in the "court" or something, so I have to dance. Slong with that, I am probably getting ONS. I'll tell you. This may be the most tiering week of my life. I'm going to have a hard time staying up late 4 straight nights, then having to take final exams the next day.

And by the way: French=Hell. 300 questions, 2 hours, no escape. That's how I felt moments ago.

Nothing too big, just a few pointers here and there and a couple of mistakes. If you had time I would have edited it for you, and hopefully you would have gotten a nice fat mark. :D

Too late now I guess. And that was hardly 19 pages. It was 3.5k in terms of word length, and if it had have been crammed into a normal size font and without pictures, it would have been about 8 pages long. If you took away the timeline, it probably would have been about 7. Still, 8 pages is way to long for a 15 year olds geography assignment. I did 7 pages for my education essay and had marks deducted for it being too long (still got a HD though).

It is very hot in England.

I'd still rather be there right now.

It feels like roughly a thousand degrees here in Florida, USA.

I grew up in Rhode Island; I'm not built for heat!

If it weren't for air conditioning, I'd be dead by now. Haha.
