Let's try this again:

EWR is one of the most popular, if not the most popular wrestling simulators of all-time. In it, you don't control the wrestlers - you control the company. Everything from booking, to hiring/firing, to handling the money, etc is all under your control. If you've ever fantasized about running your own promotion or taking control of one that already exists, then this game is for you. It's fully customizable and absolutely packed with content (literally thousands of wrestlers and staff).

To download, get your sweet little ass over to the EWR Inventory to download EWR and whatever extra goodies you wish, or help yourself to a stroll through the rest of the EWR community (or even download TEW is that's your thing).

On their forums, you'll be able to find all of the latest stat updates, scenarios, profile pictures, etc that you'll need.

So, does anyone here play EWR or played EWR in the past?

For those of you who haven't, EWR is a very popular wrestling simulator. I haven't played all of them (only 3 and 4 - the best ones, from what I've heard) You are basically in control of an entire wrestling company of your choosing (even create your own). You control everything: who's on the roster, who's pushed, the entire set up and results of the card for the show you're running (everything except for house shows, basically), how much effort you put into your training and developtment programs (if you want them), e.t.c.

It's not online and it's completely free, complete with a large online community that supplies scenarios (what if ECW never folded? what if the WWF died instead of WCW? e.t.c.) and updates. The roster of wrestlers on the game are near 4000 in all. They range from legends to backyard guys and they are completely customizable (you can edit everything about them or add your own new talent).

I can't really say enough about this sim. It's the perfect game for anyone that has ever wanted to sample what it's like to live as Vince.

If it's not an online game, then how do you play it? Do you download it or does it come on a disc? If you have to d/l it, then how large is the file? I've heard a lot about it and have been meaning to try it, but thus far I have not.

You download it and it's about 12mb. It downloads quick, even on my 56k connection.

I'll get the link for it now so everyone who is interested can get it.

Alright, go to the following site: Click this

Once there, you should click "Extreme Warfare Revenge 4.2". At the following screen, click "Download" in the second box down (the one with "Extreme Warfare Revenge 4.2" at the top).

Unzip the files after the download and there you go.

I can post where to get an update (since 4.2 is a little outdated in it's roster), but it's on another forum (the official EWR forum). I don't know if it's cool with you, Cy.

I have dial up as well. It takes my computer approximately 5 minutes to download 1MB. At 12MB, it would take me a little over an hour to d/l ERW. Not too bad.

Yeah, I don't care. I don't really want people creating posts/threads for the sole purpose of advertising their personal sites (that's what sigs are for) but I have no problem with people posting links to sites that have something to do with the conversation at hand

It shouldn't. My computer only takes about ten-twenty minutes to do it, max.

What do you mean "how do you get onto it"? You need to be a tad more specific.

Go inside the EWR folder and click the icon that looks like a window with a bluish-green top bar. That'll start the game.

It has the name "EWRevenge".

I cannot find the folder

Where did you save it? If you saved it and know where, did you unzip the .zip file? If you don't know how to unzip, then all you should have to do is right click it and say something along the lines of "extract files" or "unzip files" (not the option to "extract/unzip here").

If you don't know where you saved it, try downloading it again and tell it to save it to your desktop.

First, Cybrus has to tell me if I can post it. All of the stuff is at another message board (the official message board).

Until Cy says that I can post the link in here, I'll just say that the link is available at the bottom of the wikipedia page about EWR.

You should be able to find the updates (and various other modifications) in the "Scenarios, Stats Updates and Graphics" section. The update I used is in the Breaking Barriers 4 thread.

Yep, I got it quite a few months ago and have been hooked ever since. My company: PWA have been running for 5 years (in game time). It is very addictive and you can go with youre promotion for as long as you want.

The only major problem I have with the game is that if I leave it alone for too long, I tend to lose track of what I'm doing and what I wanted to do. I've been having that problem since I first started playing EWR a few years ago.

Right now, I'm having that problem again. I took two days off then tried to play it again and I was completely knocked out of my rhythm. Add on top of that that my top feud (the feud over the main strap) has run it's course and both men need new opponents, but there's only one man who is in their league at this moment - which would leave one man with nothing to do. I don't want to sign a new guy to NWCW because I'm already juggling a bunch of new feuds at this time, but I don't want to leave the odd man out off to the side.

I think I may have to drop a feud, which could hurt those involved, in order to make a tag feud or something like that.

Matt is adding to my excitement of getting this simulator... sounds cool.

Note to Phenom: Unleashed is spelt wrongly in your signature.

Thankyou for bringing that to my attention.

I also find that after leaving it too long, you will forget what you plan to do and in one case i was completely thrown off and my show only got a 69% rating.

One problem I have at the moment is that I have way too many guys and theyre either in development or just not getting used. This loses them moral and although i dont have any plans for them, i dont want to lose them because I am certain rival companies will take them.

I didn't notice that. :-/

Basically, if you go to this section?, you'll find all the information and support for the EWR games (among several other similiar games). Some stuff takes awhile to find.

If you want to update your game or get some scenarios to play or any other modifications, go to this area. You can find a lot of stuff there.

What I used to update my game is the file in the Breaking Barriers #4 thread, but there have been two more since then. If you want the most up to date...uh....roster /superstar/company/e.t.c. updates, then I'd use the Breaking Barriers #6 thread posted at the top.

Haha, super bump from the days this forum was still learning how to walk.

I just brought this back so I could say...FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK

I'm playing EWR and was starting month three of a seven month long program I planned for Shane Douglas vs Terry Funk in my ECW revival. It's probably the best planned out thing I've ever done with EWR, but I was just given a terrible blow by Douglas going out with an arm injury for two months. Not only is Douglas extremely important to this angle, not only is he my number one heel, but he's also the ECW World Champion. I have him teamed with Joe Hennig and was about to bring back Vader (friends with Funk and has great name value) to form a new Triple Threat, but now I don't know what to do to keep the feud and program alive for two months.

On the semi-bright side, despite not being used (he hasn't debuted yet), Hurricane Helms was injured a few days before for two months also. Helms was going to come into the feud on month five (I'm at cult level, so Helms is a big star for me). Now I can still use him like I was going to, but everything gets pushed back two months.

What sucks is that it was all going to (coincidentally) end at Barely Legal - which is what I was going to make the WrestleMania for my ECW. Now I'm looking at a Heat Wave finish to the whole angle. Not quite what I was expecting.

This is one of the scary things when playing this game and you have multiple people playing vital parts involved in a major angle. Especially when you have a kind of extreme promotion.

And just so this isn't just a four and a half year bump so I can post about my current playthrough:

Does anybody else play EWR?

I just grabbed "TEW2005", since it was the latest "free" one. I'll try that out and see how it goes.
