Summer Drinks

I'm what Willis was talkin' 'bout.
My dad and I just made a trip out to our local Kwik Trip in WI and I got a fantastic drink. It got me to thinking. What do you guys like to drink on hot summer days. Personally, alchohol is always a plus, but the Mega Buddy Slushi I just got comes in a VERY close second. 52 oz. of pure sugar rush. MMMMMMMMMMM! Slushis just have a way of quenching my thirst when nothing else will. When, they're made right, (you can barely suck 'em out of the straw) they're perfect. So, what quenches your thirst on a hot summer day?

Lemonade and Milkshakes, especially McDonald's Triple thick Milkshakes.

I don't like thick things... It's so hard to drink out of them and it hurts my throat... LOL.

I'm a big lemonade and iced tea fan in the summer. I also drink a lot of Coffee Coolatas from Dunkin' Donuts.

I haven't had a good 'ol Italian ice in a while.

I drink a 3-liter of Lemonade every day. That's pretty much all I care for during the warm months. I make my own sometimes, but I found a store brand that tastes almost exactly like homemade, so I just buy that. I also occasionally buy slushies.

There's a homeade Italian Ice Stand (as in they make it thereselves) about a block away from my house, so that is an advantage. I usually would get a large one each day. They're very good, even called the best Italian Ice in New Jersey, so I am pretty lucky to live where I do.

I also go for 7-11 Slurpees.

Slurpee's are always good, although the Shell (Royal Dutch Shell plc/Koninklijke Nederlandse Shell NV) petrol stations always have the best ones, not 7/11.

3 liters of lemonade a day Cy???? WOW! At least we know you don't have any urinary tract problems. :D But you could if you keep it up! :lmao:

In other news, a nice "cold one" (MGD, Budweiser) will surely quench that thirst on a scortching summer day!

How exactly? Lemonade is 90% water which is good for you, about 6% lemon juice which is also good for you, and about 4% sugar and other additives which isn't too good for you actually. But still, it isn't enough to have any health effects.

Alright dude. Joking 101: Don't try to analyze a joke. Just laugh along.

That's all it was. A joke.

Besides. Sugar and additives build up after a period of time. You're just helping the process with massive amounts of lemonade. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

White sugar has a lot of myths surrounding it. There is no scientific evidence that sugar causes hyperactivity or any of the other problems people blame on the substance.

I haven't had a Slurpee in over 4 years. I really want one... I never go to 7 Eleven though.

If anyone wants, I've seen some nasty picture of blocked arteries and stuff in the biomed library. Even though sugar probably doesn't cause them, they're still nasty enough to get you away from all that harmful gunk.

1. I do science at university

2. My major is pharmacology

3. Pharmacology is a branch of medicine

4. I therefore know a little bit about how the body works

5. I therefore know that fat can lead to blocked arteries

6. I also know that it may not be the only reason, and that sugar can help lead to blocked arteries

7. You obviously didn't

8. I win.

If you sit around all day eating candy bars and lot of other sugar substances without exercising or doing anything to force your body to work that sugar off, then it could create health problems, with obesity being the most obvious of the health problems possibly created. However, as long as you eat sugar in moderation and exercise then all is good.

Hey Cy? Did you know obesity is outweighing smoking in terms of the cause of preventable death in the nation? Rock on!

I drink whatever I normally drink. Pop, kool-aid, milk, lemonade, e.t.c.. I don't drink hot drinks ever, all of my drinks are cold, so there's really no point in me changing what I drink by season.

I mixed an Iced tea with a Diet Coke once. It tasted great.

I also mixed orange juice with also a Diet Coke but it tasted plain awful, but refreshing.
