![]() Chinese Military massing before Tiananmen Square I'm not one to break the rules of this forum server, hence I post the rules here before I provide any links...
I therefore stress that if you're from China, or any of its assumed territories you should probably leave now. Also, some may class the links I'm going to provide as obscene, or in excessive profanity, I regard them as educational, but be warned that some contain a few violent images of what the Chinese communist party is all about. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiananmen_Squ...rotests_of_1989 The Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, also known as the Tiananmen Square Massacre, June 4th Incident, or the Political Turmoil between Spring and Summer of 1989 by the Chinese government, were a series of demonstrations led by students, intellectuals and labour activists in the People's Republic of China between April 15, 1989 and June 4, 1989, leaving (according to Chinese authorities) between 400 and 800 civilians dead, and between 7,000 and 10,000 injured. An initial report from local hospitals put the number at around 2,000 dead. http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/s...000/2496277.stm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiananmen_Squ...rotests_of_1989 http://www.christusrex.org/www1/sdc/quest.html http://www.christusrex.org/www1/sdc/confrontation.html http://www.christusrex.org/www1/sdc/repression.html (be warned) http://www.christusrex.org/www1/sdc/massacre.html (be warned) http://www.christusrex.org/www1/sdc/protest.html http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB16/ http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/tiananmen/ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- So basically, intelligent activists stood up to the Chinese government, asked for democracy and were gunned down by their own government, and a bunch of heavily armed soliders. I suppose there isn't much different between this and what Saddam Hussein and other tyranical dictators do. Hence, I hereby withdraw any support I ever gave to Saddam Hussein, it's good that he's gone. But that still doesn't mean I support this war on terror. Either way, let us forget about Iraq for a moment and not let this reminder of the indecency of the Chinese Communist Party ever be forgotten. |

Indeed they are. I was a wee one when it all happened, yet it doesn't stop me from making a big fuss about it. You too should make a big fuss about it. |

It is disturbing to think that communism is still around today after wars to stop it. I was once panicking abut communists in the middle of Belgium. They were on the steps of a church preaching communist things and then a riot occured. They smashed the window of a Cafe I was sitting in. I was only 10 or something and I didn't like it. We also missed our flight home so I was distraught. |

China tred out their version of a People Power, originally from the Philippines, but unlike China, the Philippine people were successful. |

There ain't nothing wrong with communism. It promotes equality, equal rights, equal opportunities and equal healthcare/education for everyone regardless of wealth. It, in theory, fixes everything that is wrong with capitilism. It's a pity that in order for it to work, a dictatorship must essentially be set up. In China's case, an evil dictatorship. The only people who have anything against communism are idiots, and rich people. |

I have something against communism. I don't think that people who work harder should be treated equally to those who don't. I had very little growing up but have worked hard for what I have and learned alot along the way. In fact this thread is the perfect example of everything that has ever been wrong with communism. Additionally there's really no use being mad about this because the last thing anyone wants is a war with China. I mean they have Jet Li for god's sakes. |

as far as im concerned communism and all the people involved supporting it can rot in hell they made my family and friends suffer when communism was in romania..... it was extremely hard to live back then my parents had to hide in their homes with friends just to worship and pray to God and whatever the communists said you had to do it i remember that my father told me that his great grandfather (my great great grandfather) was told to sell his land he refused and then was pushed into a bus where he was beaten until he was forced to sign the contract There are much more stories i could share but when i think about it , it brings a tear to my eye. The torture and fear of my family was too horrible to imagine. For that reason and many more I can proudly say that my family and I am 100% against communists in all they support or believe in I will continue this post with images of the Communist Romanian leader Nicolae Ceausescu For now I must leave, I hope this post has made you think about communism |

Jimmy, I shall bring this up with you in the staff folder. *moves back* Anyway, Jacky, no your post didn't force me to think about communism, as you only focus on a government that was unable to implement in properly. What happened in Romania (not that I know, but by what you say) was rather awful, but the idea behind it was a good one. Also, despite being an antiwar liberal "douchebag", I feel that a war between the US and China is inevitable. Taiwan will only be the catalyst. Your forces are already massing in Japan, Taiwan and elsewhere. It's sad that it's only a matter of time. |

lol you would think that the idea behind communism was great in romania.... look i have my views on it and you have yours you will never know what communism in romania was like because you have never experienced it Dictatorship can never prevail because the leader will become power hungry Thus he/she will start to abuse their power and kill people in the process to gain more power look at hitler he killed gypsies, jews, and homosexuauls because he abused his power this is exactly what happened in romania except less people were persecuted Nicolae Ceausescu made people suffer in almost everyway whether it was with money, land, or religion The fact is Neb you will only understand communism from the books, and not from real life experience My mother told me a story a long time ago that she heard from her friend about the Communists in romania She told me that the Communists came to a church and stopped everything that was happeneing inside They had guns and told everyone inside that they had to bow down and spit on the Bible and say that there is no God Shaken in fright people were forced to do so Then a girl came and the officer told her to spit on the Bible Instead she told the officer(this is exactly what the girl said Translated in english) "How could I spit on the Word of God? The Word that gives me direction and meaning to life. I could never spit on the sweet Godly word of the Lord." And she kissed the Bible instead of spitting on it The Officer then shot her in the head So you see not only does Communism hurt you economically, but also mentally, and physically This is why Communism never worked and never can work in a place like America That is probably one of the biggest reasons I came to America Because of the freedom to think for yourself Nobody controls you or tells you what to do God Bless America |

Then again, you didn't experience that either, you were told by your parents (or what not) what happened. You've been adversely affected by communism, and hence have a misshaped view that all communism is bad. All communism is not bad, but so far the countries that have implemented it have done so in a bad way. |

But you don't know that communism is bad, all you know is that the government in Romania was evil (which indeed it sounds as if they were). Romania, China and the USSR are not the be all and end all of communism, there's....Nebuchanezzar's head. |

lol dont worry because whatever "secret agency" romania has it probably isn't doing very well because romanians want everything but aren't willing to sacrifice shit to get it thats probably one of our downfalls
