We've been through this such a long long time
Just tryin' to kill the pain
But lovers always come and lovers always go
An no one's really sure who's lettin' go today

*BUMP*

Cybrus and I were playing this on the Unbounded Conversation, and I thought I'd seen a topic like this.

Perhaps there might be some renewed interest?

Wow, a three month bump! You could have just started a new thread and no one would have remembered.

Are we starting from the song S-X2 posted? If so, I have no clue.

I haven't even seen S-X2 around here in forever... :(

So, I guess we can start over.

Since you got the last one, it's your turn, Cybrus (unless someone else jumps on here first).

Ok, continuing with our theme of using older songs:

Quote:

Look at us baby, up all night
Tearing our love apart
Aren't we the same two people who live
through years in the dark?
Ahh...
Every time I try to walk away
Something makes me turn around and stay
And I can't tell you why

The Eagles, man! How you not going to know The Eagles?! And it was "I Can't Tell You Why"

Ok, I'll post another song. Something from a popular 80's Icon

Quote:

Billie Jean Is Not My Lover
She's Just A Girl Who Claims That I Am The One
But The Kid Is Not My Son
She Says I Am The One, But The Kid Is Not My Son

Yup. His music is still great regardless of personal opinions about the man himself. Well, his stuff from the 80s is great. The last few CDs he put out were not so great. Not even good, really.

Okay, my turn now.

All songs I post will be from my own playlist (not that that will be a real big clue).

Vague clue: I'm dedicating this song to Neb:

Quote:

Dark in the city, night is a wire
Steam in the subway, earth is a fire

Woman you want me, give me a sign
And catch my breathing even closer behind

In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt
I'm after you
Smell like I sound, I'm lost in a crowd
****************

Straddle the line, in discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt
I'm after you
Mouth is alive
Juices like wine
************

Stalked in the forest, too close to hide
I'll be upon you
By the moonlight side

High blood drumming on our skin it's so tight
You feel my heart
I'm just a moment behind

In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt
I'm after you
Scent and a sound
I'm lost and I'm found
*****************

Strut on a line, it's discord and rhyme
I howl and whine
I'm after you
Mouth is alive
All running inside
**********
Burning the ground, I break from the crowd
I'm on the hunt
I'm after you
I smell like I sound
I'm lost and I'm found
*******************

Strut on a line, its discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt
I'm after you
Mouth is alive
Juices like wine
************************

Another hint:

We're talking '80s pop here, just like MJ.

Damn straight! I'll post one from the 90's; one of my favorite songs, that nobody would probably get.

Quote:

Must of been mid afternoon
I could tell by how far the child's shadow stretched out and
He walked with a purpose
In his sneakers, down the street
He had, many questions
Like children often do
He said,
Tell me all your thoughts on God?
Tell me am I very far?

Must of been late afternoon
On our way the sun broke free of the clouds
We count only blue cars
Skip the cracks, in the street
And ask many questions
Like children often do
We said,
Tell me all your thoughts on God?
'Cause I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we're who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God,
Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very far -
Am I very far now?

Its getting cold picked up the pace
How our shoes make hard noises in this place
Our clothes are stained
We pass many, cross eyed people
And ask many questions
Like children often do

Tell me all your thoughts on God?
'Cause I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we're who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God?
'Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very far?
Am I very far now
Am I very far now
Am I very far now

Damn!

I've heard that one on the local rock station!

I can't get it off the top of my head, though....

EDIT -

It's by Dishwalla.

Credit goes to Alicia for that!

Unfortunately, she doesn't know what the title of the song is....

Good luck.

They have a ton of songs. You'd have to open the lyrics for dozens of songs, before you found the right one.

Close enough.

It's "Counting Blue Cars" by Dishwalla. One of my favorite songs of all time. (#3 on my list, I think)

You'd have to open the lyrics for dozens of songs, before you found the right one.

Only if you don't know how to search. All you have to do is type part of the lyrics, and google will bring up the lyrics for you. :shh:

Alright, since WhoseLine said I was "close enough", it's my turn again.

Clue: It could be said that I am "identified" by this song somewhere on this site...

Quote:

I was there through the ages
Chained slaves to their cages
I have seen you eat your own
I'm the cycle of pain
Of a thousand-year-old reign
I'm suicide and salvation
The omen to nations
That you worship on all fours
I'm the infection and famine
That's knockin' at your door

**********

I am the incubus
I lay the egg in you
The worm that burrows through your brain
But you are the beast
That calls me by my name
You send your children to war
To serve bastards and whores
So now you know
You created me
On the day that you were born

**********

I was created by man, yeah, I'm the lord of the flies

***********

From the left hand of power
Comes the father of lies

************

I lay you down to sleep
Your soul to keep
Better cross your heart
Before you die
And now you know
Know that you are mine....

Have at it.....

There you go.

It's Payne's entrance in the E-Fed.

Cybrus is up....

By the way, who do you prefer on the Beth vocals, Criss or Carr?

The one with the Star on his eye, whichever that one is. :/

Well, since we are going into personal play lists, then I'm going to list my favorite song of the moment. It's a country song, so I expect it may be difficult for some:

Quote:

Like red on a rose
When your lips first smiled at me
I was captured instantly
To each his own

Like blue in the sky
The gaze of your willing eyes
Touched something deep inside
The truth be known

That I love you like all little children love pennies
And I love you cause I know that I cant do anything wrong
Youre where I belong
Like red on a rose

And I love you like all little children love pennies
And I love you like good times of which Ive known many
And I love you cause I know you give me a heart of my own
You make my blood flow
Like red on a rose

What's up with the squares? :???:

I'll guess My Wish, by Rascal Flatts, based solely on how much you've been stressing about finding it!

BTW - That's "none of the above". Paul Stanley had the star. Peter Criss and Eric Carr (drummers) were the vocalists on the two versions of Beth.

I have the song on disc, so I don't know who sings it. However, I could have sworn I saw a clip with the guy with a star on his face sitting on the stage alone singing the song. :dunno:

And that is not "My Wish" nor is it a song by Rascal Flatts.

Hmmm...

Desperate times call for desperate measures! I'll call my father....

He's a big country music fan.

Hey, we can't get online help, but I didn't see any rule against getting help from actual people.

EDIT-

That's Like Red on a Rose, by Alan Jackson!

Heh. The old man is useful, after all!

Alright let me switch tracks to one you might know...

Okay, here's one you've heard before, let's see if you can place it:

Quote:

*****************

You pack your bag
You take control
You're moving into my heart and into my soul
Get out of my way
Get out of my sight
I won't be walking on thin ice to get through the night

Hey what's your work?
What's your game?
I know your business
Don't know your name

********************
********************
She's got what it takes to make ends meet
The eyes of a lover that hit like heat

**********************

You turn around
So hot and dry
You're hiding under a halo
Your mouth is alive
Get out of my way
Get out of my sight
I'm not attracted to go-go deeper tonight

Hey, what's your word?
What's your game?
I know your business but I don't know your name

************************

She's got what it takes to make ends meet
The eyes of a lover that hit like heat

********************************

Hey, hey, hey, what's your word?
What's your game?
I know your business but I don't know your name

*********************************

S’agapo
Hey, what's your word?
What's your game?
Hey you…
I don’t know your name

Go ahead....

WhoseLine will likely get it right off when he logs on.

You're going to kick yourself when you find out what it is. You've likely heard the song a hundred times.

CLUE-

This track is another '80s hit (duh).

ADDITIONAL CLUE -

This song features a female lead vocalist.
