We had a few readers send us word that on Spike TV's website, there is a video featuring Jeremy Borash where he says the "new" NWA World Heavyweight Champion will be appearing on iMPACT! this Thursday night at 11pm ET/10pm CT.

It still remains to be seen if this was leaked on purpose or not by TNA or if we will indeed see a new world champion crowned at the Slammiversary PPV this Sunday night. However, given that Borash did say "new world champion", it is likely the company released it on purpose to peak interest.

I did a quick search in the TNA section of SpikeTV.com and couldn't find. So either it is there or it has been removed already. Thanks to everyone who passed that along today.

BURN IT DOOOWWNNNNNNNN!
I saw that video of Jeremy Borash and Christy Hemme talking about the "new" champ. I'm hoping that anyone but JJ walks away champ.

You and me both DL, I think I would stop watching TNA altogether if that happens, which I really don't want to, but we'll see.

STAY HYPED!!!
I don't want to see Jarrett as champion either, but I think he's the safe bet. Firstly, he never goes long without the title. Secondly, TNA still has the big Sting vs Jarrett single's match to headline a PPV and the title will most likely be on the line up the ante (although, I'm sure they could hold off the match a few more months). And thirdly, there have been rumors that TNA is less confident with Christian since he put on a few "bad" promos this past few weeks.

I'm betting that Double J will walk out as champion. Not to mention, I'd like to see him as champion again. He's one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world. If Jarrett wins tonight at Slammiversary, he's going to lose it to Sting in a few months.
