Not surprised. Even if he did come back, he wouldn't have been as impactful as he could have been, because he would just leave again. I already forgot about him, so it's not big deal to me.

The last time I heard about The Rock and wrestling is in a thread talking about Orton's next victim.

Yeah I knew he was done with wrestling with the fact that he hasn't wrestled in like 3 years.

No, he's tryign to say, that he won't come back for any future angles. So I guess that idea to bring the Rock back near SummerSlam 2007 is cancelled.

In another move that signals the end of Dwayne Johnson's wrestling career, he has been noted in a few of the media outlets that he intends to drop "The Rock" nickname by the time "Southland Tales" is released, in order to seperate his movie career from his wrestling career.

Johnson is beginning to promote his next film "Gridiron Gang", which opens nationwide on 9/15, with tons of promotional work in New York City this week.

Why would he do that?! He might want to forget the nickname but everyone will still call him The Rock, it's one of those nicknames that don't die.

Exactly. Does anyone actually know who "Hootie" is from Hootie and the Blowfish, without that name? He just dropped right off the scene.

And for WrestlingMachine: The point of using that name, is simple. What I orchestrated above, is that people know him as "The Rock." They don't know him as "Dwayne Johnson." There's a better chance of people catching him, especially in a newspaper, if they see his former name, rather than the latter.

All hail King Booker!
Guys, him dropping the nickname is apparently a rumor. I got this from another forum.

NoDQ.com

Reader Mike Ramos sent this in… I live in Orlando, FL and on the way to work this morning The Rock was on a local radio station. (XL 106.7) They asked him about the report he may be dropping his name and he denied ever saying that. Something he said was completely taken out of context. It's a false rumor and said he loves being known as "The Rock".

Attention whores?

Oh, and by the way... has Hogan ever hold a win against The Rock? I remember Hogan being defeated by The Rock at 2 PPVs.

The Rock discusses his transition into the acting world in a Cox News Service article that is making the feature nationally today, discussing his football background, convincing his father to train him as a professional wrestler, training under well known acting coach Howard Fine and more. It's a good profile piece.

Speaking of Dwayne Johnson, Kyra Sedgwick has signed on to star alongside him in the Disney film 'The Game Plan', which will resume filming in the Boston area shortly. Segdwick will play Johnson's sports agent in the film, where he plays a football star who's life is derailed when he learns of the daughter he never knew he had.

For that article from the first note, you can go here to check it out.
