** credit wrestlingattitude.com The 9/8 edition of WWE Friday Night Smackdown only did a 1.0 broadcast rating with a 1.8 share this week. This is obviously due to many former UPN stations dropping the show for now until the switch to The CW Network. The debut on CW starts next week so that will be a rating to pay attention to. i didnt think the show was this bad to where it would get a 1.o that really sucks for them lol |

It wasn't the quality of the show that caused the rating. It was the fact that so many UPN affiliates have dropped the show from their schedule. If the show isn't being shown, then it obviously cannot be watched. |

I find it ironic that when SmackDown came out the WWE and UPN struck a deal to put it on the network to help boost the fledgling channel and give it some credability. Years later, UPN continues to fuck the WWE over with constant shuffling and movement. Until SD is on a stable network, it will never be seen even as the B show. Why should the WWE put major stars and quality booking on a show that they never know when or where it will air and people can see it? |

I'm surprised WWE gave away the Booker/Batista title rematch last week when they knew they would be removed from several markets. That type of match seems like something "big" they'd want to save for the CW debut. |

The Man. Any Questions?
|
A huge question still remains: Will SmackDown! even be on all the CW stations? You know what I mean; at the change, I will be getting CW South Florida, from Miami. Others will be getting CW affiliates from other areas (in other words, other channels). If SmackDown! is only going to be on some CW channels, they'll be no better off than they are now! I'm hoping that all of the CW stations will have it, but nobody has confirmed that. *worry, worry* |

I was cycling through my online programming guide to see what college football games are on this weekend and saw that CW Twin Cities has SmackDown airing at 2pm in the afternoon on Saturday. |

i know it really sucks for them i mean what can wwe do for smackdown hers and idea HAVE A DRAFT AND GIVE SMACKDOWN SOME BIG STARS raw is full of stars and the reason raw gest such big ratings is the cena edge feud and the d-x vince feud and others i meanwhat about shelton he is being misussed on raw imo and also it was the biggest mistake to split mnm up they were the tag team divison no ifs ands or buts they were an awsome heel tag team and the get split and it hurts sd to then batsiat not showing up for sd this week on sd and then last week have chav vs tatanka what kinda match is that and not using psicosis ino psicosis vs shelton would be awsome and also supercrazy going to raw was stupid also imo but maybe he will be used beter and i think they should be puting better tag teams together for the sd tatg divison and if m hardy goes to raw to be with jeff sd is gonna be the worst show but maybe there is that one superstar that can help sd maybe mvp will drag in some more fans with him bbtu who knows but right now sd officaly doesnt suck imo they have great quality matches on there and lets just hope sd can drag them selves out of the whole the are in but i think they are doing it but very slowley. |

At this point, it isn't the lack of drawing power that SD! has that is causing the low ratings. It's the fact that they are only shown in about half the country. Once UPN becomes CW, then SD! ratings should return to the 2.4-2.6 range. |

Who? Cy is absolutely correct. I still see more wrong with the RAW brand, than the SD! brand. With RAW, their problem is the length of their main feuds. They think that by extending either D-X and McMahons, or Edge and Cena, that they'll be gaining veiwers. Of course right now, they're only losing viewers. SD! just doesn't use their talent right. I thought they could have done something great with a Batista/Booker feud, but it was way under pushed, and shakenly done. They have the better talent, most definitely, but once they get to actually using them correctly, they will definitely be the #1 show. Just remember, though. There is no way you can blame the 1.0 rating on the quality. You can only blame it on the timeslot. When it was on Thursdays, it was doing as well as RAW, right until it moved to Fridays. Since then, they haven't been able to do anything with the show, since nobody except us internet losers will stay at home on Fridays to watch it. And I thought SD! had the much better show from around January until Mid-March of this year. |

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
|
I think the 1.0 rating is due to the timeslot and the confusion of people that don't know if Smackdown is airing on UPN or CW. Some might be confused by that, who knows... |
