If this is true, in which this source is one of the most accurate ones I go from, then if Vince felt that way about them, then why did he take their concepts and even storylines but with just his characters? |

Vince always does this. He downgrades anything that he didn't create. Plus, with all the old ECW fans creating a backlash toward his new ECWWE, he will take every chance he can to tell anyone who will listen that the old ECW sucks and his new vision is how it should have been in the first place. |

As ironic as it may be the "new" ecw has better ratings than the old one ever did.

That's not surprising at all. The Old ECW was an upstart promotion with wrestlers that the general public never heard of. RVD, Sabu, Rhyno, Taz etc were unknowns at that time. Then When they went to TNN, most of their top guys were already gone from the roster and the Network never promoted the show. Instead the courted the WWF. The new ECW is part of the WWE. It had a built in fan base already. The WWE was basically the only world wide promotion in existance and has a huge following already. They created the new brand so the WWE fans tune in to follow the continuing story of the WWE. Wipe the name "ECW" off of the show and people are watching WWE wrestling on a third night of the week. If you watch Raw and SD! you most likely watch ECW too if you get SciFi. |
