On Joe
PWI

He had problems with his sciatica over the weekend. There's been lingering back pain for awhile (as there are with more wrestlers than would care to admit it) but he injured himself wrestling Roderick Strong for Ring of Honor over the weekend. Joe was in so much pain following the CT show, he needed to be walked to his car. Not only did he suck it up and work a tremendous tag match the next night in New York City, he immediately went from that show to JFK Airport and flew to Mexico City. The man is a warrior to be sure, but at the same time, one has to wonder how much anyone can give and take, even at his young age, working a style as physical and as giving as his is inside the ring, before it comes time to slow things down.

Konnan took part in Spike TV's monthly conference call for the media to promote this Sunday's No Surrender PPV. Konnan noted that at one point, he feared he was going to need a hip replacement surgery (he's had ongoing problems for some time) but he's found a doctor in Mexico that has been able to properly treat it and he's been working on it with no ill effects. He hopes to be doing more physically in TNA soon. During the conference, Konnan said he's been told Chicago will be a future TNA market. He acknowledged rumors of being removed from the spanish announce team in favor of Ray Gonzales and said he wasn't happy because nothing has been said to him about it and he felt he's been doing a great job. In regard to LAX taking off, Konnan noted that it was the right time and the right place with so many racial issues coming to the forefront in politics of late and what they are saying reflects the culture right now. He also noted that the company needs better marketing and a few more Latino stars, because there are fans that would get behind TNA if they were aware it was out there. He was very critical of the WWE-Eddie Guerrero storyline (who isn't, except WWE management?) and said the new ECW doesn't hold a candle to the original ECW he was involved with. As usual, Konnan came off well spoken.
