Stand Back! There's a Hurricane Coming Through
Jimmy Wang Yang debuts on Smackdown this week. They have him being a redneck cowboy. Does it even matter anymore? Jimmy Yang's in ring ability have never been in question to me. When he and Kaz Haiashi and Jamie Noble were the Yung Dragons in WCW, they always put on great matches. When they fueded with 3 Count (Evan Karagious, Shannon Moore and Shane (gregory) Helms) they usually stole the show in the ring. But, in the WWE, you need a character to get over. Anything that gets him noticed will be good. Look at Super Crazy. Until he and Psicosis and Juvi came out riding lawn mowers, the general WWE fan didn't care. Then in the ring, they won the fan over. I expect Yang to do the same. And, as long as the fans embrace him, it will continue. But, the WWE fan can easily be swayed from finding you entertaining...just ask Goldust. |

STAY HYPED!!!
I like the cowboy gimmick. It makes me laugh. The funniest part, thus far, to me, was when Jimmy was talking about his woman and made hand gestures to signal he was talking about a very large woman. That cracked me up. He's my boy, giddy up! It'll be interesting to see if his wrestling style changes any to reflect his new redneck gimmick. |
