So is this PPV going to unofficially be an all brand PPV?

Technically, it's mostly a joint PPV, although it belongs to Raw. But hey, Raw is Vince's baby, so you can expect him to do the best for Raw. And last year on TT, you had Rey, Matt, Batista from Smackdown to name an example. Yet, Smackdown merely had brand matches... last year, Tag Team champs from each brand faced against each other on Armageddon and this year Taker vs Show at TGAB.

Really... the concept of Cyber Sunday points to me like it should be a joint PPV.

It would be a devastating blow to Extreme Championship Wrestling,” Heyman said about the possibility. “That’s always something we take into consideration. Just like every time the Big Show walks down the street, a semi could run him over. Just like every time the Big Show walks into a hotel, there could be a flood or a fire. Just like every time the Big Show gets up in the morning, the floor beneath him could break.

“I think originally when this came out, it was a nice, sexy match to have and we were excited about champion vs. champion vs. champion,”

Nice, sexy match??

You mean appealing, right? I can see Coach thinking of the Main Event at Cyber Sunday as something really attractive.

I'm sure that the votes don't matter here. The writers just go with what they want and write the script for the matches. The Voting here is useless. I mean, how can they train for matches where their opponent is unknown? :whatever:

*Card Updated*

In regards to the Tag Title match, I expect Dusty to get the vote and for Dusty and Ric to win the titles. Dusty said he wanted to wrestle Flair one last time before he retired. The Tag Titles have changed hands at both Taboo Tuesday PPVs and the co-champions went on to feud against each other. I don't see things changing this year.

I was browsing the PW Torch and saw the following written about Cyber Sunday. Keep in mind that this is the opinion of one columnist and not the opinion of the Torch:

Quote:

Cyber Sunday is shaping up to be one of the worst cards for a PPV in a long time, if not ever. And the choices that we fans are graced with are a joke. So, Nitro, after getting beat clean tonight, gets to possibly have a shot at the IC title? And then Masters, having been a part of the picture the last two weeks is suddenly gone? Oh, wait, there's more. We get to choose between three guys who shouldn't be in the ring at all anymore to be Flair's partner to go after the tag team gold? Oh, goodie! Oh, and we get to choose the referee for a tag match? YAY! Wait, wait, we get to choose the title to be defended between the three champions (when we all know that there is no way a title change is happening). Plus, we'll have some women's match thrown in there for the one title that may mean less than the tag belts. This is going to be bad on so many levels. I would rather sit through a Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting Iron Man match that goes 30 minutes into overtime than sit through the garbage they've got planned for this show. Suddenly the shortcomings of TNA aren't looking that bad in comparison.

Pretty much sums things up, I'd think

The Man. Any Questions?
The sad thing is, they could have deflected this bullshit card, just by keeping the three Champions separate.

If they had three Title matches, where the fans chose the challengers for the three, it would be a LOT more compelling than some stupid Triple-Threat, no-Title-actually-at-risk pile of crap.

If the Main Event wasn't so dumb, people would be more apt to overlook the shortcomings of the undercard. But, in this case, the terrible Main Event just illustrates the whole event.

The Main Event's about choosing who defends his title at the Match. Most likely, Cena's defending his title... what if he gets really injured during the match and someone covers him for the 3 count? Hmm.... but it might all end in a No Contest, to get things set up by Survivor Series.

So sad. You forget that the marks are the majority of the fans. So our opinions mean crap. And Im sure they are digging this match. So they'll have fun. All is well, I guess.

I'd say that's the odds on favorite. There is too many negatives that comes from having a "Champion of Champions". First of all, it'll make the other two titles look completely inferior, which while most wrestling fans feel there is only one true champion there is no reason for WWE to acknowledge that while still trying to say the brands are "equal". And secondly, what if the champion that is defending his belt loses? Then a brand will be without a title while another brand will have two titles. Didn't we already see that a few months ago when Rob had both the WWE and ECW Titles? Was the storyline really interesting enough to repeat? The match is ending in a no contest of some sorts, be it DQ, count out, or lots of members from all three brands running end...which would set up the triple threat classic survivor series match a lot better.

There is another fundamental problem with the whole situation.

This is three World Champions meeting in a match! WOW! Um...yeah, that's right...none of us even gives a shit....

Why?

Once upon a time, "Champion vs. Champion" matches were absolutely salivated over, and fans talked nonstop about "what if?...". They did this, because such matches couldn't happen (well, they did occassionally, but only at huge events, and were very rare). The rarity of such a match gave it its appeal.

Now, we've seen "Champion vs. Champion" matches...what?...20 times in the past 6 months? We've seen them so damn often, that they've lost the mystique.

Once a concept like this gets done to death, nobody cares about it anymore. They've gone to the "Champion vs. Champion" well FAR too many times lately.

Yeah, tough luck for Vince McMahon and all the WWE employees that think they're going to get people to pay 40 dollars for some bullshit.

Speaking of which, am I the only one that finds it odd that WWE expects everyone to pay $40 3 times within a span of just over one month's time for 3 PPVs that will be headlined by the Big Show? On November 5, we'll see Big Show in the "Champion of Champions" match. On November 26, we'll see Big Show (and Booker and Cena) main event Survivor Series. Then on December 3 we'll see Big Show headline ECW's PPV. That's two PPVs headlined by almost identical match set ups and a thrid one with a familiar face we've already seen, which would come to a grand total of $120. Who is going to pay $120 in one month to see WWE PPVs? I guess since less people are buying, Vince needs to jack up the price and sheer number of PPVs just to make the numbers fit.

But they will pay. They just will. So it may be odd or it may be bullshit, but Vinnie is pulling in the monies at all there is to it.

Yeah, that's probably why buyrates are going down and prices are going up to compensate, huh?

Umm, Yes?  Because WWE will look at what PPV had the lowest buyrates, and wonder why.

And just by changing Taboo Tuesday's name to Cyber Sunday (due to poor PPV buyrate WWE changes it and expects people to dig the "new" PPV) won't be just enough. The concept of that PPV is still the same.

I think $20-25 should be fine for a PPV brand. $25-30 for joint PPV Survivor Series, Summerslam and Royal Rumble and $40 for Wrestlemania (just because it's Wrestlemania).

But please WWE, at least have Peru be able to buy PPVs. But knowing my country, not even 500 people would buy it. Most people here aren't into WWE and are mostly broke, but they could pay between many people to gather up and see it at someone's house. Or maybe restaurants would buy the PPV and have a bunch of people gathered and pay a small price to see it and that obviously hurts WWE. Hell, if WWE made PPVs avaiable to buy here, I'd pay for Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania and maybe one or other brand PPV. Surely, I can get friends and pay it in parts for some things.

But back on topic... Cyber Sunday... 6 matches, I guess:
-Cena vs Booker vs Show (one title on the line)
-DX vs Rated RKO (choose the ref)
-Flair + Legend vs Spirit Squad (SS's belts on the line)
-Jeff Hardy vs _____ (Intercontinental Championship on the line)
-Umaga vs ____ (could be Kane, Benoit or Sandman... most likely Kane)
-Mickie James vs Lita (Women's Championship, but something else we'll vote to see what they should be wearing)

What other match could happen besides those? Heyman vs Teddy vs Coach? (God no)

Hmm, I wasn't watching wrestling during the first two Taboo Tuesdays, but I think they changed the name becuase having a PPV on Tuesday screwed with SmackDown! being taped on Tuedays. And I agree with your prices. They would have a lot more buys with that.
