I guess in the coming weeks, I'll make this the official thread or something....

The local advertising in Philadelphia PA during last night's edition of Monday Night RAW, was promoting a RAW vs. ECW vs. Smackdown team match for WWE Survivor Series 2006.

The wrestlers involved for RAW will be WWE Champion John Cena, Triple H & Shawn Michaels; taking on the Smackdown combo of World Champion King Booker, Rey Mysterio & Batista; going against the ECW team comprised of ECW World Champion Big Show, Rob Van Dam & Sabu.

Tickets for the PPV are scheduled to go on sale this Saturday.

John Cena and DX aren't that much of a stretch since they teamed up already (although, they should comment more on the feud between Cena and Triple H from earlier this year). However, the SD! and ECW teams make it look like the GMs are going to force these teams, and even then it won't make full sense.

That wouldn't seem to far off. Seeing how the two teams will most likely face each other at Cyber Sunday (which is November 5th if I remember correctly) there still should be life in the feud.

They are going to use the "Brand Loyality" bit that they always use. "Our guys may fight each other, but we will set aside that to prove our brand is better."

Yeah, and so is Shawn Michaels.

Being injured means nothing as long as they bring in the cash I guess :-/

Now that Rey Mysterio's out of the WWE picture for now, is Bobby Lashley or Kennedy or somebody else going to take his place at Survivor Series? It's a given that Batista and Booker would be main-eventiing if the spoiler was true.

Lashley will take Mysterio's spot. No question about it.

I think Triple H was trying to reflect on that fued when they teamed up. If you watch when DX was announced to team with Cena, Triple H walked up beside Cena, looking at him in a weird way, NO not that way. But Cena didn't realize what he was doing and just nodded the like dumb shit he is.

The following is from WWE.com:

For the first time in Survivor Series history, matches to the annual pay-per-view will be announced exclusively on WWE.com.

The match announcements will begin this Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET. New matches will continue to be announced everyday at the same time for one full week. By 3 p.m. next Monday, WWE.com will have announced seven matches.

So be sure to be right here at WWE.com everyday to see what matches the RAW and SmackDown Superstars, as well as ECW Extremists, will be involved in.

Wow, that's a first. They don't fill the card up until the Show, or even the day before the PPV, now they're doing it the first week after a PPV? I can't complain, really.

Although, it could also be regarded as a stupid move. The way I see it, is they should create rivalries, then announce the matches, and not create the matches, and start a rivalry. :-/

I like this approach much better and hope they do it more often, although, I have a feeling that the fact that they only have 3 weeks to build, hype, and sell this PPV may have something to do with this new booking approach.

I think it depends on what matches they'll book. If they go by this, realistically, it'll have to be encased in some type of feud, (D-X vs. Rated RKO, Classic Survivor Series RAW vs. SD! vs. ECW, etc.) because if it's a match with two people who you wouldn't expect to face eachother, it just makes it lazy booking.

I disagree. Lazy booking is when they just throw a match together for no apparent reason and put it on a PPV. An example of that would be the 4 team tag match that happened at Cyber Sunday. They didn't even announce the match until after the final Raw before the PPV. That was lazy booking. However, if they pit two people that have no real feud against each other, then it creates a reason to feud. They may not have beef with each other, but they are booked against each other, which will force them to interact with each other, which makes the match look more appealing, which potentially drives buyrates. TNA uses a similar booking strategy. TNA books most of their PPVs on their first taping after the PPV and their PPVs blow WWE PPVs out of the water almost every month.

The following is from WWE.com:

In a shocking announcement, the brash Mr. Kennedy told WWE.com today that he has challenged Undertaker to a match at Survivor Series. According to Kennedy, Undertaker is ruining his life and he wants to stop the trouble once and for all. The Deadman is aware of the challenge, and sources tell WWE.com that he will address the issue this Friday night on SmackDown.

To his credit, Kennedy has had his share of trouble with the Deadman in recent months. When Kennedy claimed that he was too good for SmackDown and had beaten everyone, General Manager Theodore Long made a match for him against Undertaker at No Mercy. Kennedy was victorious by disqualification at No Mercy, but the Deadman left him beaten in the ring after a vicious Tombstone Piledriver.

But that wasn’t the end of it. Days later, while Kennedy was defending the United States Championship against Chris Benoit on Friday Night SmackDown, Undertaker’s signature gong was heard. This flustered Kennedy and distracted him long enough for Benoit to capitalize and defeat Kennedy for the gold.

After another altercation and some chicanery involving Montel Vontavious Porter, a match was made pitting Kennedy & MVP against Undertaker and his brother, Kane. This time, the Deadman got his revenge on Kennedy; after trying to get counted out and disqualified during the match, the brash Superstar fell victim to another Tombstone, one that gave the reunited brothers a victory.

So what will the Deadman have to say about Mr. Kennedy’s latest challenge? Survivor Series will mark the beginning of Undertaker’s 17th year of WWE dominance; will he celebrate his anniversary with another battle against the brash youngster from Green Bay?

An official discussion thread will be made after the first match is actually announced.

I guess it's just our differences, but that's exactly what i'm talking about. Putting a match together, with opponents that have no reason, or backing behind it. Even if it has a few weeks to build up, it's still working backwards, which is a very risky move. I've always liked the fact, that WWE (even if it was the stupidest of bouts, or even if it was announced few days before the PPV) always worked with the storyline first, then announcement of the match. I don't know, though. I've been complaining about WWE enough recently, so i'll just wait until the matches are announced first, then complain.

If two people have absolutely no reason to feud, then it makes more sense for them to start feuding because they are booked in a match than it does for one of them to attack the other for no logical reason and then request a match to be booked.

According to the Smackdown spoilers for this Friday, I bet the following matches might get announced at WWE.com:
-Undertaker vs Mister Kennedy
-Chris Benoit vs Chavo Guerrero
-King Booker vs Batista

-King Booker vs Batista

Hmm, if King Booker and Batista are already in a match together, then it may not be a brand vs. brand vs. brand. Unless they have them wrestling twice, which is unlikely. So, most likely there won't be King Booker vs Batista, since from the Armageddon poster Batista will get his shot at that PPV.

If Booker, Batista, Benoit, Chavo, Undertaker and Kennedy are already occupied... Smackdown still has wrestlers for the Brand match. I think the Brand match will be having a mix of former Main Eventers and Mid-Carders there. As for Smackdown, then can put Kane, Matt Hardy, Finlay, Lashley and Helms.

I think Raw and ECW will have title matches, assuming Cena faces Umaga and DX faces Rated RKO and Big Show maybe faces RVD at SS or they along with Sabu, Test and CM Punk become a part of the Brand match.

Does anyone know how many people will it be at the Brand match?

I'm pretty sure it was announced that it will be three superstars per brand.
