ECW.com is reporting today that with Rob Van Dam defeating ECW Champion Big Show on ECW on Sci Fi this past week to gain a contract for an ECW World Title Match of his choice, RVD has chosen to challenge for the title at the December to Dismember PPV on December 3 live from Augusta, Georgia.

It is also on ECW.com, and WWE.com, I will get it on here.

After Rob Van Dam defeated ECW World Champion Big Show for the second consecutive time on ECW on Sci Fi, he earned himself the opportunity to choose when and where he would rematch the Extreme Giant for the ECW World Title. After some deliberation, Van Dam has come to a decision on when that will be.

“I’m looking to finally getting my first championship rematch since July 4 at ECW December to Dismember,” RVD announced to ECW.com.

Van Dam has been in a similar situation before. After a victory at WrestleMania 22 in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match, RVD cashed in his WWE Championship opportunity at ECW One Night Stand and won the WWE Title from John Cena. Van Dam has vowed that this time will be no different.

“ECW December to Dismember will be a night that ECW fans, RVD fans and Paul Heyman will not forget. It will be a December to remember,” said the challenger.

There is a lot on the line for Van Dam. The former WWE and ECW Champion was cheated out of his gold by the self-proclaimed Messiah of ECW, Paul Heyman in the infamous South Philly Screwjob. The maniacal Heyman turned his back on RVD and other ECW Originals shortly after ECW debuted on the Sci Fi Channel. For months, it seemed like Van Dam would never receive another opportunity at the ECW Title, but by defeating Big Show twice he proved that there’s no holding him back.

“It was perfect timing when I cashed in my Money in the Bank at One Night Stand. Everyone saw what happened there; at December to Dismember, history will repeat itself,” vowed RVD.

STAY HYPED!!!
This isn't surprising. There is virtually no chance Big Show losing the title prior to ECW's next PPV, so there's no reason to waste the stipulation until then.

That makes sense seeing how RVD has been the only person to beat the Big Show lately.

All hail King Booker!
I'll probably be ordering the PPV so this is good news. It was expected anyway.

Correct me if i'm wrong, (I haven't seen ECW since early September) but didn't those three matches already happen?

ECW is lacking enough wrestlers to show variety.

Except for CM Punk vs Knox, you're right on that.

I can see this PPV as the feud between new blood vs old blood. But Punk and Knox are "new blood"... but CM Punk should need a feud against some old blood.

Anyways, this is how I might like to see this PPV (if the only title seems to be the ECW Heavyweight Championship): all matches on Extreme Rules (for the PPV's sake).

*Balls Mahoney vs Kevin Thorn
*Catfight between Ariel, Jazz, Kelly Kelly, Rebecca and Trinity (sadly, we might see some of them... but I'd like to see Kelly busted wide open and Ariel biting someone's neck)
*FBI (Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke) vs Shannon Moore and Rene Dupree
*Sandman vs Matt Striker (Signapore Cane match)
*Tommy Dreamer and CM Punk vs Test and Mike Knox
*Sabu vs Hardcore Holly (TLC match)
*Rob Van Dam vs Big Show (ECW Heavyweight Championship with Special Guest Referee: Terry Funk)

What do you think about this? One can dream...

BURN IT DOOOWWNNNNNNNN!
Hmm, RVD had to feel pretty crappy jobbing out two titles in two nights back to back (But not as bad as Kurt Angle losing two titles in the same match  ) It'll be good to see gold around his waist again.
