WWE house show report 10-28 Dubuque, IA

by Mike Payne

Dave:
These are the results of the card last night in Dubuque, Iowa. Opening match Super Crazy defeated Chris Masters
Cryme Time defeated Murdock and Cade
Val Venis over Daniel"The Real Deal" Rodimer, his gimmick looked like a cross between Orton's and Masters
Micki James over Victoria, both were in Halloween costumes
The Highlanders over the Sprit Squad Non-Title, Nicky and Mikey worked. After the match Kenny berated the losing team members, pushed them then left the other 4 behind
Carlito over Shelton Benjamin in a very good match.
During the intermission Maria and Torrie in Halloween costumes shot T-shirts into the crowd
Jeff Hardy downed Johnny Nitro
HHH, who was over huge downed Randy Orton
John Cena over Umaga by DQ because of outside interference by Johnny Nitro, HHH made the save and then Cena F'UD Nitro to end the nights action.

HHH was over huge, Cena was about 80-90 percent cheers, Carlito and the Divas also got big pops. Masters,Cade and Murdock,Benjamin,Nitro,Orton and Estrada all generated good heat. Crowd was pretty hot since this is the 1st time the WWE has ever come to Dubuque pop. apx. 50,000. Moline(Quad-Cities) is a regular WWE stop apx. 70 miles.LaCrosse,WI and Cedar Rapids,IA are both about 75 miles away and usually get 1 or 2 WWE cards a year. It was odd that the faces won every match. It seemed like everyone had there working boots on, especially since it was small market show. It was an enjoyable evening especially with the crowd which was hot for just about everything. No-shows Edge,Lita,Charlie Haas,Oleg. Original card was advertised as Cena vs Edge,HHH vs Orton Carlito vs Umaga,Highlanders vs Spirit Squad,Lita vs Micki Nitro vs Hardy, Oleg vs Venis, Benjamin and Haas vs Cryme Time,Masters vs Super Crazy. Use any part of thie you need. Keep up the good work! Mike Payne

The only thing I might find a bit interesting from this is that Cybrus mentioned something about a possible feud between Cena and Umaga on some other thread and now we get to learn than Umaga can lose by DQ. But no pinfall yet on the Samoan Bulldozer.

Damn it! When will this Samoa Joe rip-off actually lose by Pinfall, instead of those stupid disqualifications? Muhammad Hassan can wrestle better than that Samoan Jackass.

When will this Samoa Joe rip-off actually lose by Pinfall,

What makes him a Joe rip-off? Is it because he is Samoan? If so, does that mean every white guy is a rip off of another white guy? Joe and Umaga have nothing in common gimmick wise. Didn't we already discuss this?

The rumor mill has it that Umaga was created because the WWE couldn't get Samoa Joe :dunno:

All hail King Booker!
Well, he's a pretty bad rip-off of Joe. I don't even really consider him a ripoff of him anyway.

Samoa Joe doesn't consider Umaga as a ripoff of him, as far as what I've read from some thread at the TNA section of 6SW.

He's not a Samoa Joe ripoff. Joe clearly stated that Umaga ain't a ripoff of him.

I still don't see what exactly it is about him that would make the creative team to want him to be unpinnable. Truth is, he's more goofy looking then itimidating.

Just because Joe said it doesn't mean that it wasn't WWE's intention to find as answer to TNA's own undefeated Samoan.

I imagine Umaga will find his way out soon enough when WWE realizes he doesn't get a reaction.

P.S. Dark-Loner, why are Ty Law and Willie McGinest celebrating in the back of your sig? :P

Umaga may be WWE's answer to Joe, but that doesn't make him a rip-off. Their gimmicks are nothing alike. The only similarity between the two is they are both Samoan.
