All hail King Booker!
|
^I'm not buying him as a world champ but he's improved a lot. I just think they put the belt on him too quickly.

I think Cena makes a great champ and have never had a problem with him. I'm just not a fan of his face role. I thought he was a great heel though. |

i'd rather have Cena as a heel, as well. i found him more entertaining, as a heel. |

Am I the only person that finds it annoying and slightly funny that John Cena had to rip off Rick Steiner for a catch phrase? "If you want some...come get some...if you don't like me...bite me." Nice work there superstar.

That was Rick's line? For the life of me, I thought it was Booker's old line. What was Booker's line? "Don't hate the player, hate the game" That was his, right? |

Heres a List why Cena is a good champ -Cena is a good talker -When hes champ he sells the spinning belts, and he makes them ton of money with them hes a merchandise machine -He doesn't get in trouble. For Example Hes never had drugs in his car like RVD. Hes never hurt a diva or did soemthing to a diva and never destroyed a hotel room like RKO. He doesn't kiss anyones ass so others in the Lockerrom hate him like Batista. He doesn't try to figh Chad Dick/Tank Toland and lose and he doesn't fight Booker T and lose like Batista. -He doesn't have the only reason your champ is cause your the boss like HHH and JJ -He can have a good match with a good wrestler. Watch Royal Rumble 2007 and that Raw in England. - He doesn't have a goofy voice like Batista - He brings in new fans with his rap cd - He's a better wrestler than Lashley, Batista, JBL, Vince, Rey (you could not take Rey seriously as champ). All I am saying is Cena gets to much hate. And he deserves some praising even though hes a bad wrestler. |

You mean the match against Umaga? I'd NEVER consider Umaga being involved in a "great match" His rap CD? How my God that is gar-bage Yea hes a better wrestler than those guys, but he hasnt WRESTLED since the beginning of his career. Its weird how you included all the recent former champs, but not Edge?? |

You mean that one CD he released about 2 years ago that didn't receive any radio airplay, video airplay, or sell to anyone outside of a small group of wrestling fans? Is that the CD that you think is bringing in the fans?

That doesn't make you a good champ. Hell, even if Triple H was the champion, I would consider him a better champion than Cena because he is able to actually put on a great show and be a great heel when he wants to. Being the boss doesn't have anything to do with being an interesting champion. |

It's funny how a Cena thread some how pops up every now and then of why whomever thinks he's what. This could've just been added to that debate thread Neb...err Jimmy C made. |

I've said this many many times but I think he was one of the better wrestlers in OVW at the time. And of course when he made his debut against Angle and had that really good match, but sometime later, I just started fading out from liking anything he did. |

The truth is John Cena is a good champion. But he does not deserve to be breaking records with the lengths of his title reigns. If he won the title for the first time about a year ago. Kept it for a few months. Lost it. WOn it back and kept it a little longer, he would be great, and I'm sure most people would like him now. But when he won the title, he was absolute shit. And the fact that he has pretty much been champion for 26 months, he deserves the hate that he gets. And yes his match with Umaga was terrific. See it and then comment. It was unbeleivable And his match with Shawn Micheals. But 2 great matches in 26 months isnt championship material. Sure his matches with Edge weren't bad. But that was all Edge. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't all those people you listed criticized for being bad champs too? It would make you argument stronger if you compared him to Champs who were favored by most peopl

i did see all 3 of those matches, both Umagas and the WM match. I saw nothing and if anything HBK was the star of WM. For me Terrific and Umaga are far from each other |

As -O- suggested, would it be possible for one of the moderators to move this subject into that big long Cena thread? My aim, whilst being a staff member was to put everything to do with Cena into that one thread, for easy access. Please? In other news, the original post doesn't warrant an actual response. The reasons provided are incredibly thin defenses for Cena, that really hold no weight. Perhaps instead of submitting a one sided list (half of what you said is true), you should compare it to the other list of reasons why Cena is not a good champion. Only then, will you be able to form a coherent and half logical thought pattern on John Cena. |

Umaga at Royal Rumble, not NYR. Shawn Micheals on RAW in Italy not WM. Bost those matches were phenominal. And it doesn't matter if Shawn carried it, which he did, it was still a great match none the less. And it doesn't matter if you don't like Umaga. He had a wonderful Last Man Standing Match with Cena at the Royal Rumble, weither you like it or not. |

Anyone with an extreme hatred for Cena will always say blindly that all of his matches are shit, regardless of how good or bad it is. Or call them shit just because Cena won. Something I figured out from most of the Cena haters around the net. |

True. But your the same way with Randy Orton. I call it the way I see it. Even though I hate John Cena, I'm not going to ignore it when he has a good match. And he has had a couple. And like I said, he would have been a pretty good champion, had he not had for the past 26 months. |

It's true that I despise Randy Orton. But as far as 2007 goes, the only good matches I remember that it involved Randy Orton were: -Rated RKO vs DX from NYR. -The MITB match from WM23. -Some match against Edge on Raw. None of those matches (except for maybe MITB) are better than the Cena ones you've mentioned. But in all of them, Randy Orton wasn't the best man on those matches. |

True. But Randy Orton has been the best performer in some main events on RAW. The Rated RKO v Cena and Micheals matches. They may not have been that good, but Orton out performed the others. But this isn't an Orton thread. So why talk about him? |

I merged the two topics together. Even though he's not a staff member anymore, I won't take it as Backseat Moderating.
I think we've gone through this enough times to know what each person will say about Cena, and who and why people will defend him. So unless I see fit, I'm just going to stand back and watch everybody kill eachother. |
