- Steve Austin's first movie, "The Condemned", is currently in post-production in preparation for an April 27, 2007 theatrical release date. WWE is expected to push the movie heavily alongside WrestleMania 23 with co-branded advertising during the spring season. The movie is being distributed by Lions Gate Films, which handled "See No Evil."

IMDB.com has a brief blurb on the story plot: "'The Condemned' tells the story of Joe Conrad (Stone Cold Steve Austin), who is awaiting the death penalty in a corrupt Central American prison. He is 'purchased' by a wealthy television producer and taken to a desolate island where he must fight to the death against nine other condemned killers from all corners of the world, with freedom going to the sole survivor."

The cast includes former WWE wrestler Nathan Jones - as simply The Russian - and Vinnie Jones, who was Juggernaut in the recent X-Men movie. The movie is written and directed by Scott Wiper, who played Ripley in "Pearl Harbor" and has four other writing credits to his name.

If it's around WM23 then could we see a Stone Cold appearance? :ponder:

I heard that it is supposed to me good.

BTW: This is his second movie but first lead role.

It certainly sounds better than The Marine; and with Vinnie Jones in there it has to be gold.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
This movie might become slightly more successful than how The Marine and See No Evil went.

I'd like to see how many people could Stone Cold draw to the cinemas. If it becomes a success in the box office, that means his prestige is still alive and kicking.

The turndown on this movie would be the fact that it is related to WWE Films.

I'm fairly certain the article means it's Austin's first of three movies that he has agreed to do for WWE Films. I'm a huge Austin fan, but I don't think his movies will do much better than any of the others WWE Films releases.

Looks like ol Stone Cold is gonna be fightin some big boys in this one. I haven't seen the 2 movies from WWE so far. And Im like the biggest WWE fan/mark here. So I'll have to see See No Evil soon. I doubt I'll ever be able to sit through the cheesiness that is The Marine. I will definitly see Condemed though. Did anyone see Stone Cold in Nash Bridges. He was freakin awesome.

You guys heard something about Stone Cold that he originally wanted John Cena's role in The Marine? Imagine Stone Cold as John Triton...

I've read some reports saying that. Some even went as far as saying the reason Austin walked out of WWE a few years back is because he didn't get that role. I don't buy into either, really.
