STAY HYPED!!!
I am not a big fan of pizza. I won't go as far as saying that I dislike it, because I will eat it. However, if I have another option, then I'll almost always choose anything but pizza. It's just not something that really appeals to me. I'll estimate that I only eat pizza about 3-5 times per year. My brother can eat pizza that many times in one day! (Yes, that was a bit of an exaggeration for people that cannot pick up on such literary techniques. But my brother does eat pizza several times per week.)

I was browsing through the grocery store the other week and saw a package of frozen pizza dough. I'm sure I could get the recipe and make my own dough from scratch, but, as I already stated, I don't eat pizza that often. So I figured I'd take it home and give it a try. I made my purchase, took it home, and placed it in the freezer for a later date. It stayed there for a while. A solid week to ten days. Then, I saw everyone going hoopla over pizza in the blue topic thread. You know the one. I remembered the frozen pizza dough in my freezer, took it out, and experimented with it.

One advantage that frozen pizza dough has is its flexibility. I can roll it out anyway that I'd like. I can make a cal zone. I can make a thin crust pizza (which is what I prefer). I can make my pizza a square shape if I want. I can roll the dough thick, cut it into strips, put a little olive oil on it, put cheese and other toppings on it, and make my own bread sticks. The options are pretty unlimited. Also, the toppings are only limited by what I have in my pantry. A simple tomato sauce is easy to fix in a pinch, with canned or fresh tomatoes. This time of the year, I'll take a canned tomatoes over a fresh tomato. Canned tomatoes were grown riper and have a fresher taste than "fresh" tomatoes this time of year. (I can explain why if anyone wants me to.) After I made the flavorful sauce to my likings, I put the toppings that I wanted on it. Quality beef, fresh bell peppers, 4 different types of cheese, herbs, sausage, sliced tomatoes (ok, so I did use a "fresh" tomato after all), and other assorted toppings. I didn't have a pizza stone, but I did have a large unglazed ceramic brick (whatever the hell it's called) that you can pick up at the hardware store and/or flower section of your Walmart mega store. It works great for regulating temperature so I just leave it on the bottom rack of my oven constantly. I moved it up to the top rack and baked my pizza on it. It was good. Easily the best pizza I've ever eaten, and way better than anything I've ever ordered. However, it still wasn't good enough to make me want it often. I'll probably just stick to eating pizza 3-5 times per year.

However, I have added frozen or prepared pizza dough to my essential food supplies. Granted, I'll rarely make a traditional pizza with it, but I'll be making lots of dessert pizzas. The simplest thing to do is to simply roll the dough out, cut it into bread sticks, and sprinkle sugar and cinnomon on top instead of cheese and herbs. You can also kneed a bit of sugar into the dough (not much), then roll it out into pizza form, put a little bit of applesauce on it or pureed dried fruits (well, there's more to it than that, but no one cares for the recipe details), sprinkle some fresh fruit on top of the base sauce, and cook it up like a normal pizza. Let it cool or eat it warm. Either way, it is very good. It is a very easy dessert that is visually attractive, tastes good, and is a crowd favorite with the people I've shared it with. :tu:
