No, they're not. I don't see why you're bothering to even argue this point, as there's no two ways about it. Yeah, I could scroll past them, bit I don't want to and evidently neither to the majority of 6SW members. It's a terrible inconvinience and it's messt. And hey, the very same could be said for spam. Don't like spam? Then hell! Just scroll past the shit to find the stuff that you want to read. There's no reason to stop members from spamming their way happily around 6SW, they're having a good time so why do you have to spoil their good time? But hey, don't think that I'm relying totally on your shoddy double standards to defend this. I think that by and large, members are the ones who guide the overall direction of a forum. They wanted a divas section? They got it. They wanted an efed? They got it. It seems to me, and I might be incorrect, that members of 6SW are tired of these awful, awful hackneyed games. Perhaps then, it's time for the overall influence of the forum to say "hey guys, these games are old-hat, nobody likes them anymore"...Hey, and that's what's happened. So you know, you could argue that everyone could just ignore them but when an ABOLSUTE majority says that they actually want a BAN put on these things, well, you're kinda flogging a dead horse. It's actually a pity that you've taken this thread down that corner. As I mentioned before, the point of this thread was more or less just to see if anyone was as tired of this crap as I was. It seems to me that a lot of people were, and that no-one really wants these threads to stay...apart from "Ask Legacy" The point of the thread really wasn't to put a massive, warning oriented ban on these types of things but for whatever reason, you seem to have taken the Nazi interpretation of the thread. Hey, I can point you to the very first post in the thread to prove my point here. "pseudo-ban". So you know, the point of the thread wasn't totally to instill some rock hard rules in place (although that would be so totally awesome), it was to discourage. It seems to me that I've succeeded in discouraging these awful, awful threads.

So an inconvenience to you is enough to stop others from playing games they like?
That is a horrible attempt to prove a point, and I'm shocked that you of all people would make such flawed argument. "Ask me" threads are always contained within said thread. They have a point to them. They are forum games and belong in the forum games folder. Spam, on the other hand, is found throughout the forum, rarely ever has any type of point, and doesn't belong in any folder type. The two are not comparable.
Yeah, what a pity. Someone defending something that is popular yet under scrutiny. What an A-hole,I am! You know what, I don't even like the "Ask Me" threads anymore, but I wouldn't go as far as discouraging others that do enjoy them from playing the game just because I don't like it. |

Why do you think I created a thread? It was to see if it was a majority opinion.
Lol. Enough of the ad hominem stuff there. I think you're taking a rather elementary look at that quote though. Regardless of your personal...viewpoints on the "quality" of that argument, I don't really think that there's anything in there that's untrue. Do these threads get in the way? Yes. Do they have a point? Um, no. Are they a bit repetitive, formulaic and annoying? Check, check and check. Seems highly comparable to me. Who cares though. I haven't seen any since this thread was made so I'm happy. |

According to that explanation, then I think most forum games would fall under the "spam" category.
Maybe I'll bring back "Ask Cybrus" just to annoy you then.
