This is definately the most surprising news I've heard all year. Now that RVD, and Sabu are gone they might aswell end this ECW fad,and have a REAL ECW show every year...but I doubt that will happen. Or they shuld just cancel ONS and leave the month of June for Vengeance. I have no doubt that this will be the last ONS to take place. ECW will end by this year. I'm sure of it. Can't wait to see RVD in TNA though. I hate how when a wrestler leaves the company WWE sometimes has to "bury" that wrestler and kill them. Trish is an exception, but the others theyt had they "buried" by making them lose. When will we have people face someone in a good match as their final match one day in WWE?

ECW will end by this year.

I both agree and disagree with this. On the one hand, WWE has a contract with Sci-Fi and is still pulling in relatively strong ratings in their time slot. ECW isn't pulling in the same ratings as Raw or even the respectable numbers of SD!, but they are pulling in high numbers for a cable show. So they may be safe in that aspect.

On the other hand, ECW has basically became the new Sunday Night Heat. They either use the brand as a grooming brand where they build guys up just strong enough so that they can move them to another brand (see Lashley vs McMahon) or they use it as a dumping ground for guys that could not get over on the other two brands (Striker, Snitsky, Dreamer, etc). There are only 4 or 5 guys on the brand that have any connection with the fans: C.M. Punk, Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, and, too a certain extent, Matt Striker. RVD remains to be the most over guy on the brand, but he is suppose to be on his way out. There is little doubt in my mind that Cor Von and Punk will be moved to another brand eventually. With the current roster so weakened due to injuries and guys just not wanting to resign with WWE, then there simply isn't enough talent to build three strong brands.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
How is Cor Von having any connection with the crowd? If anything, I'd say Striker gets more heel heat than Cor Von could.

If anything, ECW may have low ratings, but it's one of the top shows as far as the Sci-Fi Channel shows are concerned.

He plays the enforcer role of what is left of the New Breeds. He gets good heat every time he hits the Pounce.

Is RVD really going to work the One Night Stand PV? I thought he was released for sure, I didn't expect to see him there at all.

Update on the RVD/TNA front:

Apparently for the past few months it was being said that RVD will be making his way to TNA, however new reports indicate that RVD has no interest at this time. Several in TNA management are not as hopeful of signing RVD because they were subject to the rumor mill none to long ago with Chris Benoit. Apparently Van Dam believes he has enough money to retire, but is open to working a lighter WWE schedule.

It'll be cool if he did just retire or work a lighter schedule, because I honestly don't see him with TNA.

For years I have been telling people that there is an alligator in the Los Angeles Harbor. They caught him and gave him a stupid name. After 2 years of different hunters bragging about how they were going to be the ones who caught him, and supposedly booking Steve Irwin before he passed, they finally caught Reggie the Alligator and arrested him. You can see him at L A Zoo soon.

About the internet rumors- one thing I have to know. How can "reporters" put their name on reports that continually end up being bull shit and maintain any credibility? Always wondered that. As for how it feels reading about yourself? Sometimes it's flattering, sometimes it's offensive, sometimes it's funny and sometimes it's just silly but too lame to be funny.

I can save everyone a lot of time by letting everyone know that I won't be doing wrestling related interviews at this time, other than WWE-appointed. You might catch some of my media press on Friday I'll be doing in Jacksonville to promote Sunday's One Night Stand. I'll probably say something cool.

Have a great weekend everybody and remember, it's going to be a great fucking summer!

That sounds suspicious... confuses me a little bit, maybe he'll renew? I doubt it. :S

Me too. I think all this talk about him "not being interested in TNA" is BS. Kind of like how Kurt Angle was looking into going into MMA instead of wrestling. Next thing we know, he's brawling with Samoa Joe on Impact.

I bet RVD takes a month rest, joins TNA or some other promotion and you'll be bitching about how RVD backstabbed WWE. :santa:

I don't really mind if RVD goes to TNA tbh. It's been on the cars for a while.

He's definitely gonna take time off as he needs it to recharge. There are rumors that TNA wants to get him in August as SUPPOSEDLY, they'll be getting two hours around that time. Or at least, that's what they told their wrestlers.

It's to keep them thinking they won't be suffering on a one hour show.

With WWE.com’s “out indefinitely” angle it looks as if Rob Van Dam’s last match with the company was at last night’s One Night Stand pay-per-view against Randy Orton. As we’ve been reporting for months now, RVD’s contract with WWE expires at the end of this month and all indications are that renewal negotiations have failed. There had been talk of keeping RVD on television for another week to outsmart Internet fans, but it looks as if WWE creative is going back to the original plan.

So, I take it we have seen Van Dam for the last time in a WWE ring.

If TNA has talked with Rob Van Dam regarding a possible relationship with the company, it's been kept quiet. RVD also hasn't talked with ROH, at least as of last weekend. However, the belief is that he'll work at least a few ROH dates if his price is reasonable.

Isn't he still contracted to WWE though? It's not like he's going to call up Ring of Honor or TNA and say "book me next week" when he hasn't even left the company yet.

Rob Van Dam’s former manager Bill Alfonso was recently on a radio show. Bill Alfonso said that Rob Van Dam is done with WWE, he went on to say that WWE offered RVD a lot of money which RVD turned down. Bill Alfonso also said that RVD wants to rest and stay out of the ring for now and that in a few month’s anything could happen, meaning even TNA is a possibility. Alfonso mentioned Sabu and said that he is in a different situation as he wants to continue wrestling.
