While Lashley/Vince/Lashley held the belt, it was at the highest level of prestige it had ever been in it's exsitance. I didn't think it was that bad.

I don't think so. I think the highest it ever was, was when it was created. RVD held the WWE title and the ECW title was created so it was the same level as the WWE title. Then, the WWE started treating the WWE title like it was more important, having RVD defend it against top guys at every turn and ignoring the ECW title. It has fallen ever since then.

Not to start an argument, but I think thats when it was at its lowest point. RVD didnt even win it. He just had it over his shoulder one day. And it looked like a kids replica belt compared to the WWE title. And it never had any importance. At least wehn Big Show won it, it was defended every week in big time matches.

So, when HHH was handed the World title, that was when it was at it's lowest point too? HHH never even won it, he just had it over his shoulder one day and it couldn't compare to the Undisputed title Brock Lesner had...

Uh okay, RVD and HHH are too different people. Plus the World Title was shiny and Triple H wore a suit.

I know what I said. You either get it or you don't.

And you why does everyone have to bring up Triple H in every argument I'm in. It throws me off and I lose track on what the topic is. DAMMIT!

They have to have like a big match for that. But the WWE Title match is a 5 man challenge. That would have been perfect for the ECW Title. Maybe tomorrow night they can have a tournament to figure out the 2 guys who will duke it out at Vengenace. Go Matt Striker!

And I should give a shit, why? Unless of course, you read somewhere that they were having number one contendership matches between Punk and Cor Von and another between Benoit and Burke, because if that's the case then that's now what you posted. And if that's not the case, then I really don't give to flying peices of cow shit what you posted. Mkay pumpkin.

Peck, you're right. I also read some where else that there's going to be two matches to determine who's going to fight for the ECW title (Punk vs. Cor Von and Burke vs. Benoit).

Also, on WWE.com, it says that Marella will defend against Umaga... Fuck!

I see the title match being Punk vs Benoit, but I think I would actually prefer Benoit vs Cor Von at this point. It seems a bit early to give away Punk vs Benoit. Benoit is getting the title. It'll be a nice rub for Cor Von to be in the title match.

From what ECW I have seen as of late. Burke is the best talent on the show. And the kid is young. WWE should not fuck this one up. But ECW has ALOT of guys who CAN end up being top stars. It goes from Punk to Thorne to Striker to Cor Von and of course they have the leader, Chris Benoit. I don't see why anyone would be laughing at ECW right now. WWE told everyone that there was going to be a new vision for ECW, and guys like Burke and Punk are exactly what they meant. And even you almighty Paul Heyman was all for it. The only thing keeping Smackdown above ECW is Edge. Otherwise, ECW would be number 2.

Since ECW came back, everyone wanted to see Punk vs RVD. We never got it. Even on his way out the door, they could have jobbed RVD out to Punk, but they didn't. I don't think seeing this match now is too soon. To me, it would just be too soon to have Punk win it.

Why? Dammit, WHY?!

Why is it always "too soon to win"? What, a poor bastard has to slave for 20 years without getting ahead, before he finally, somehow, magically is "old enough" to win?

Punk's at his optimal level. He isn't suddenly going to blossom into Triple H. If he isn't "worthy" now, he never will be. He's been in ECW for almost a year. Let him win the match.

Plus, at Benoit's age, a year from NOW will probably be too late.

I don't mean win the title, I mean win the match with Benoit. If you want to build it up into something special, then you have to make it where Punk loses to Benoit, the High level Veteran, but puts on a great match. Then he can keep trying and building up to a rematch that takes places at a later date and beat him. If you want to give Punk the title, It doesn't matter to me, but I was strictly talking about putting on a Benoit vs Punk match this early.

Sorry, I wasn't just talking about this situation; we've seen about a thousand times where people say that lots of wrestlers shouldn't win because "it's too soon". I saw it here, and just kind of snapped.

Ok, shifting the conversation slightly. All nine titles are going to be defended at the PPV. The only title that isn't scheduled thus far is the WWE Tag Title match. London and Kendrick were moved to Raw. Regal was moved to Raw. That leaves two teams on SD!: That 50's Team and the Major Brothers. The Major Brothers were just moved to SD! and have yet to have a match or any kind of formal introduction. The PPV is this Sunday. How are they going to set up the match between these two teams? Not in any interesting kind of way, that's for sure.

They have 2 options:

1. Have the Major Brothers beat them in a non title match on SD! to get a title shot

or

2. Bring in Jeff Hardy and have the Hardys challenge for the belts.

That...makes no sense. I know they had a story with Cade and Murdoch, but you have TWGTT and London/Kendirck on Raw...Plus Cryme Tyme and the Highlanders...Who the Hell is Duce and Domino suppose to feud with? :???:

It doesn't make any less sense than a team from RAW challenging for the SmackDown! Title. If they wanted the Hardys challenging Deuce and Domino, they would have been drafted to SmackDown!, not RAW. Having a RAW team (any RAW team) challenge them would defeat the whole purpose of the draft.

Don't worry. They'll throw a mongrel team together for the PPV, or something.
