The Man. Any Questions?
|
Nitro > you.
What happened? I thought Benoit vs. Punk was advertised...was everyone just bullshitting that, or did something happen to pull Benoit off the card?

Benoit apparently had to rush back home due to a family emergency. So I guess Nitro replaced him... |

I guess for anyone who didn't watch it, I'll make it simple: Every champion except Melina kept their belt Nitro replaced Benoit and won the title That's how simple it is. |

Nitro being champ...isn't all bad I guess. He sucks on the mic, but this might be just what he needs. |

He might be a transitional champ till they can get it on Benoit. I think Punk got shafted in that deal though. |

That's what I thought. Really, all the gripes against Nitro can easily be applied to Punk and Benoit, as well. In fact, the only thing they can say is "he doesn't do great promos". Umm...find a great promo by either of those other two. It's right next to the Fountain of Youth. |

Yeah I hear ya SRP. About those smarks though, damn them to hell. I would've thought they would've atleast let him wrestle for more than an episode or two to build him up but you know, whatever.

Jack Sparrow is looking for the Fountain of Youth so your meaning to tell me that a great promo by Punk and Benoit will be in POTC 4? I'm excited already. Johnny Nitro shocked me and all my friends, we thought Punk had it and were angry we didn't get to see Punk VS Benoit. Edge VS Batista was the match of the night IMO, kept me on the edge of my seat and I thought for sure Batista had the win after the match was restarted but thankfully no more Batista in the title hut. (Hopefully.) |

Unfortunately, ol' Pubejaw Jackson has an out: he wasn't pinned. They can use that as an excuse to give him a billionth chance at the Title. Thing about Nitro is, remember, this wasn't the plan. Circumstances forced them into doing this. They might have had him rotting on the sideline for months, otherwise. So, they likely were going to "build" (in WWEspeak, that usually means, "bury") him over several weeks, but didn't get the chance. |

I doubt it, since Batista had such a fit over losing plus T'Lo isn't gonna be GM much longer when the Kristal storyline starts playing out more, Vicky wouldn't give Batista another chance. Nitro winning wasn't the worst thing to happen on the PPV, watching Jimmy Snuka try and wrestle when he's like 100? Right from the beginning when Domino was trying to jump over him he landed right on his head.

Oh, God. I can't believe they would go forward with that, after what the "spoilers' were saying about him moving like a cripple backstage. |

Well, what else could they be setting up for? T'Lo and Kristal are gonna live happily ever after and then the Evil Bobby Lashley is going to come and take him to his RAW Castle.

The WHC match was pretty solid. Nitro winning is the biggest surprise among the IWC, and the main event was going good IMO until Cena won

I wonder where they're going with it, though, with him pinning a semi-retired out of shape man in Mick Foley. Hell, I really don't care. I just wish somebody would take the title off of him already. I just can't stand it when WWE makes him look like the biggest unbeatable thing in the history of the company. |

I've grown to not care about Cena today. Is it worth to be pissed off for a good amount of time? Sure I'd like to see a new WWE Champion, but I'd rather not care about the WWE Title scene for now since it's pretty much known how things are going to be. |

It is, actually. Wrestling has always been a sport where you could either like or despise a guy. WWE makes stars that you want to hate. I don't see the problem of not liking Cena, because that was the idea behind wrestling all along; face or not, the idea is to want to see certain guys lose, and when they win, you get pissed off. That's what makes wrestling fun. And when he loses, it's the greatest feeling in the world, and only makes the move sweeter. |

Did anyone see Lashley clear the top rope. That was off the freakin hook. And Orton's RKO on Cena when he was going for the 5-Knuckle Shuffle was the greatest moment of the night. As they say, the match was going good till Cena won. What, was the match like 8mins long??? |

I thought it was a really solid pay-per-view. Of course, there were a bunch of crappy matches, but overall, it was really entertaining. The only thing that really ticked me off was that Benoit didn't show. I mainly paid $40 just to see Punk and Benoit go at it. Anyways, I really can't believe Lagana would even think about putting the title on Nitro before Punk! Jesus christ!

You have to be patient with Punk. The reason Benoit got so popular as champion in the first place, is because he paid his dues in the business for 20 years. I'm not saying for Punk to wait that long, but it's better to be patient. The second thing is that it's obvious Benoit was going to win the title. It makes as much sense as anything to still have Punk lose the match like he was written to, but have someone else sneak in and take advantage of the open spot. |

I've been patient with Punk! After seeing that they gave Nitro the belt instead of Punk last night, I don't think he's ever going to get a world title run in the WWE!
