The idea is to make him a version of the 1980's One Man Gang character in World Class and UWF, where he pretty much plows through everyone because of his immense girth. Viscera's going to be repackaged - the comedy overtones and giant pajamas are going to be stripped from his persona. No more Viscagra and no more Rick Rude-like pelvic thrusts. Basically, "The World's Largest Love Machine" gimmick is no more. He's going to go back to being mean and bad, similar to Mark Henry if you will. The idea is to get him over as big and unstoppable in ECW, then bring him back to Raw or SmackDown by the end of the year as a monster heel who can headline. This will be similar to what they perceived they did successfully with Snitsky, who is scheduled to mow down undercarders for the rest of the year and feud with Cena in 2008.

Viscera is getting a renewed pushed because he is big and not a problem backstage. Dave Lagana, the head writer of ECW, didn't want him on the brand unless he was going to be repackaged because he felt his "Love Machine" gimmick would never get over as a headliner. Furthermore, Vince McMahon liked the idea of Viscera being pushed like the One Man Gang in the 80's. Plus, it's easy to convince Vince to push a monster, even it's failed a few times before, as opposed to a smaller person, even if the person has a history of past success.

Umaga... Snitsky... Khali... Mark Henry... Now Viscera... Don't you think there are enough monster heels already?

I would've liked to see him go into ECW with the "World's Largest Love Machine" gimmick... I hate seeing all these monster heels suddenly developing... It's really killing the main event...

Ok comon, the monsters always get slain by Cena, the Monster Slayer....so why bother cheering for them? The question is who is ECW's Monster Slayer....

Vince obviously sees that most of the popular superstars are getting old and he just wants to push many of the young superstars now in order to keep the company fresh and entertaining... This doesn't work for the "old school" wrestling fans like us...

Viscera isn't "young". He's been with WWE (off and on) for some 10 to 15 years now. He's a former King of the Ring winner (under the name Mabel). :-/

I'm not really surprised that Vis is getting pushed. He's like the only "big" man on the roster that hasn't been pushed as a monster recently.

We all know what's going to happen anyway. The same thing has happened in every instant with one of these "monsters." They are pushed to the moon, defeating jobbers, then they're moved to another show, where they are almost immediately fed to the big "slayer." Then they're forgotten about, until they decide to push them again.

I liked Viscera as the "world's largest love machine". I thought the gimmick fit him perfectly. Any flaws or limitations it may have had didn't really matter much, either, because he wasn't seen a lot on regular television lately.

I'm not interested in seeing yet another monster in WWE. It seems as if they have too many as it is. Besides, he used to be kind of a monster heel type of personality back before the "love machine" gimmick when he came out in the black. Of course, then, he was a bit of a monster jobber, if there can be such a thing (what am I talking about? Kane tends to be one).

I doubt it will lead to much more success now when there are better monsters and it's just an older talent repeating the same old stuff from before.

I only really had two problems with BDV's "debut":

1. Tazz and Styles seemed as if they were trying to sell it as if he was a new superstar. At least that's how it sounded to me, especially when Tazz was talking about his height like he'd never seen him before and was suprised out how big he was.

2. His breasts that are pretty much the combined size of all the divas on the roster, or just Stephanie. They're not so much pecs or breasts as they are two extra arms without hands.

Other than those, I enjoyed it for what it was.

Abdullah the Butcher wants his ring gear back.

I missed the first 10 minutes of ECW, so I missed this segment completely. Luckily, they replayed some of the footage later in the show show. It must be nice to be a big man in WWE. You know that no matter how many times you fail, WWE will push you again while smaller, more talented guys, get one push and they are done with. I want to know, how come Val Venis isn't getting repackaged. Oh yeah, because he's small.

I would mark the hell out if Val got a push. I love that guy. I mean, his gimmick is awesome, and not to mention he's so damn hot.

Oh, come on. Just because I said I "love" and "he's so damn hot" about a guy doesn't mean I'm gay.
