Tonight, a very special three-hour edition of Monday Night Raw will start at 8/7 CT. Superstars from Raw, SmackDown and ECW are required to attend Raw as the federal investigation broadens into the demise of Mr. McMahon.

Every Superstar has begun the finger pointing at their peers, and lead federal investigator Daniel Beck has the task of deciding between fact and fiction. Will Beck find any leads into Mr. McMahon’s limo explosion?

Our fans in Corpus Christi, Texas will have the opportunity to pay their respects to Mr. McMahon as well. A memorial will be set up inside the lobby of the American Bank Center, where our fans can give their own eulogy for the fallen Chairman.

After Vengeance: Night of Champions, John Cena is still the WWE Champion, having defeated Mick Foley, Bobby Lashley, King Booker and Randy Orton in the WWE Championship Challenge Match. How will those Superstars react to failing in their quests for gold, and will anyone emerge as a contender to Cena's title?

Also, Candice Michelle left Vengeance as the new WWE Women's Champion after defeating Melina. What will Candice do on her first night as a champion?

To find out these answers and more, tune in to a special edition of Raw tonight at 8/7 CT on USA Network.

Are we watching WCW Nitro again? You know, another 3 hour show in so little time.

No, okay.

Some notes about tonight:

Quote:

Tonight's Raw is a three hour broadcast that will be centered around the "memorial service for Mr. McMahon".  The word making the rounds over the weekend up in Stamford is that WWE is finally ready to get away from the schizophrenic way that they have booked the angle so far and pick a direction to take it in.

In the beginning, they booked the bit as being deadly serious, pardon the pun.  Then, on last week's Raw, they seemed to be headed toward playing it for comedy (which yours truly think is the right way to go) until the very end of the program when Stephanie McMahon was blubbering to the heavens about the loss of her dead father and swore vengeance.  To say that after Raw even a lot of people in the company didn't know which way the angle was going is a very fair statement.  When people in the company aren't sure which way creative is playing an angle, that tells you a lot.

Now, the word is that they will play it for comedy and you can expect a lot of cameos from people dogging the dead chairman tonight, playing up the comedy end of the chairman's "death".  I guess we will see if they can pick a direction and go with it.

I think booking it as a comedic angle is a great idea. I just don't know how they can make a transition like that, though, after building it as really serious the past two weeks.

A decision was made just a few minutes ago to cancel the live show tonight in Corpus Christi, Tex. Fans will be sent home. Wrestlers are being allowed to leave and mourn.

It was the right thing to do, no doubt. I just hope they won't show another depressing video, or I won't sleep at all tonight.

Oh, God, I really hate those still pictures that have the "in memory" or "remembering" words.

I know, they're kinda unnerving.

So what was RAW about?

Its a 3 hour tribute show to Benoit. They are showing great matches and scenes from his DVD. And WWE people are talking...

Live recorded messages or interviews from his DVD? I'm wondering if I should watch it on Saturday is all (probably will).

They are live interviews from the WWE wrestlers. Considering most everyone found out 30 mins or so before the show went to air, it must be some tough things to get through. Most people are breaking down.

Not to be me or anything, but Triple H had the best speech.

Does it really matter?

Anyway, it was a touching tribute to a great man and one of the few RAW shows worthy of a 10. I pretty much broke down when I heard CM Punk, Edge, and especially Chavo speak. And the ending seeing him with Eddie in the ring after WM 20 made me tear up again.

This is just all too surreal.

I was wondering why they didn't show any matches that he had with Booker? They had one of the better ones in WCW, though I can't remember if it was a ppv or what.

I thought it was a damn good speech but from a pure emotion standpoint, Chavo's got me real hard.

Of course. Edge's was the only one that maybe made me have a little bit of glissen in my eyes. But Trips was the most well spoken.

One thing Trips said that struck home is how it's almost impossible to speak about how much a fallen friend or family member touched you in 5 or 6 minutes. Everyone did really well considering the news and I thought the show was excellently (if that's a word) produced in such short notice.

Nobody does tributes better than the WWE.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
Edge and Chavo's videos were more touching... I'm glad taht Vince showed up. Kudos to WWE for putting a good tribute to Benoit in quick time.

I've always said that the best work is work that people would think was planned for days, but in all actuality, only done in a few hours. And again, WWE really surprises me with the quality last night.

I forgot who said it, but it was really interesting to hear that Eddie and Chris are back together again.

If I'm not mistaken, I think it was in an interview after Eddie's death, he said the three guys that he was really close to, were "Eddie, Chris, and Tomko."

That's what I heard. It was in a phone interview that Edge did for the WWE right after Eddie's death. I'm not sure if it's still up in Eddie's profile, though.

You also wouldn't figure that Foley, Hart, Edge, Al Snow and Blue Meanie would be good friends backstage but, hey, there they were.
