The Land of the Extreme was shocked and surprised when late substitute Johnny Nitro defeated CM Punk for the vacant ECW World Title at Vengeance: Night of Champions. Will Nitro - a recent ECW draftee - make his first appearance as champion on ECW on Sci Fi? And who will challenge Nitro first? Will Punk challenge Nitro to a rematch? Tune in to ECW on Sci Fi and find out.

Last week, the New Breed’s Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von showed that they yearn for the ECW gold. Will they also show Nitro that they are serious about winning the ECW World Title? And could this cause dissension among the New Breed teammates?

ECW has been full of debuts lately. One new ECW Superstar who seems to be already making an impact – and causing a potential rift among some smitten members of Extreme Exposé – is The Miz. Will he make his debut in the Land of Extreme? And will the ladies of Extreme Exposé patch up their alleged differences?

Meanwhile, no one seems to be having sweet dreams about Boogeyman. The man from The Bottomless Pit has been causing ECW Superstars to toss and turn in their sleep. Who will he come to get next?

You will see all this and more on ECW on Sci Fi every Tuesday at 10/9 CT.

Interestingly, no mention of Benoit. I guess they're going to cut back on giving a tribute to somebody who killed his family himself.

Well, they did take all his stuff off of WWE.com and even got rid of things like the description on WM 20 main event being HHH defends against HBK... :-/

All hail King Booker!
Yep, they've stopped selling his merchandise and everything. Even TNA took down their mini tribute to him on their website.

The man is a murderer, plain and simple. I doubt they'll be much mention of him from now own and we can be assured there won't be some stupid Eddie Guerrero-like storyline either.

I was really hoping he'd get inducted into the hall of fame too :-/

The news hit me, but it sunk in, it was bad.

Benoit was a murderer.

I see that they're going to move along without too big of a tribute, but I also think they have to at least say something regarding the situation. No matter how he died, they have to tell the viewers of what has happened, at the least.

People will be logging on WWE.com right now and be wondering WTF?

It will be hard for everyone.

Well, I guess now this leaves room for Nitro and Punk to build up their careers. Who knows, i might just become a Nitro fan.

OK..I'm sick of this other stuff, so let me try to talk wrestling.

1st match was Nitro vs Cena. What is the point of having your newly crowned ECW champion tap out to the WWE champion in his first match since winning the title? Especially to the WWE champion. That puts the ECW title in it's place I guess...

It's the pecking order of things. It's WWE's way of saying "Ok, this guy is holding a World Title but this other title is THE title of WWE. Now, you remember that." There are three Heavyweight Titles in WWE. The WWE Title is obviously THE title of the company. The World Title is the second most important title. And the ECW World Title ranks in third as far as the Heavyweight titles are concerned. Anyone disagree with that?

It's not like it came out of the blue, though. Titles or not titles, everytime Cena and Nitro fought, Cena always won. So just because Nitro now has a title, doesn't mean that he's suddenly going to go over The Champ even though he didn't before he won the title.

I liked last nights show. Still not convinced on Nitro or as to why they put the belt on him.

Just alittle FYI for those that didn't catch the beginning of it.

Here is Vince McMahon’s statement from the beginning of last night’s ECW on Sci Fi in its entirety: "Last night on Monday Night Raw, the WWE presented a special tribute show, recognizing the career of Chris Benoit. However, now some 26 hours later, the facts of this horrific tragedy are now apparent. Therefore, other than my comments, there will be no mention of Mr. Benoit tonight. On the contrary, tonight's show will be dedicated to everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident. This evening marks the first step of the healing process. Tonight, the WWE performers will do what they do better than anyone else in the world – entertain you."

2 out of 3 falls was really good. The entire show was, especially when Piper came out. I changed it when what's his face came out.

SD! from what I read looks good also even though I try to stay away from spoilers, or reading them atleast, I took a glance to see what they had in store for friday.

It's not so much the fact that he jobbed to Cena, it's more he jobbed period. Being the ECW champion means he's the top guy of the brand. He shouldn't lose a match right after winning the title.

But to me, the ECW was more of an indirect "special" episode, where there weren't any storylines, and things were just done for entertainment. These are the shows where a Chavo Guerrero can beat a JBL or Rey Mysterio can beat Shawn Michaels. This was done to give the fans something to cheer and be happy about, a day after hearing about one of the craziest things ever. So it's only customary to have the guy that is cheered the most go over a heel, title or no title. Notice that in that episode, nothing bad happened; Two faces won, and two faces got the upper hand over a heel. So it was just something to cheer about, and nothing to over think.

I can understand that.

ECW was pretty good, I didn't watch the whole 2 out of 3 falls match.
