WWE Title Match: John Cena vs. Randy Orton; winner - Cena

Notes: There were more than a few empty seats; I don't know why because tickets were said to be almost sold out. I sat on the 3rd row from the ring, so I had a great view of the action. Crowd was loud for most of the night, and the main event was very loud. Regal put on a great show; he got great crowd reaction and showed he can still wrestle great for someone his age. Cade and London had a decent match; Cade really has a lot of ring prowess for a guy his size and actually got some cheers from many in the crowd.

The crowd died off some for the Daivari/Rhodes match. Cody is Dusty's son and was pretty good in the ring. There was a point the match where either Cody and Davari ran into each other or something else happened, but whatever was the case Cody started bleeding very badly, and it was basically pouring from his forehead. The match ended soon after the bleeding got worse with Rhodes landing I believe an elbow drop. After the match, a couple refs rushed Rhodes to the back.

Carlito is indeed, "cool." He got a huge heel reaction from the crowd and had an excellent match. I, along with a few other guys around me, thought it was very obvious that Carlito carried Santino throughout the match. Carlito has all the tools to be a huge star, and it seems he is really getting into his heel role, much more than he did previously when he was a heel.

Melina and Mickie actually had a VERY good wrestling match. Both proved that they are not just performers, but are also very proficient in the ring, utilizing many moves. Myself and the group of guys I previously mentioned started a "We want Nitro" chant, and Melina looked over and made a sad face and said "I miss Johnny." She also yelled "this one is for Johnny" as she was doing a suplex on Mickie. Again, great match and both ladies did great.

Lashley came out first and did a quick promo on how he beat everyone on Smackdown and made his way to the top. Then, he beat everyone on ECW and made his way to the top of that show. Now that he is on Raw, he will beat anyone that stand in his way and make his way to the top and win the WWE Title. Crowd was really into him the whole time. Umaga then comes out the match starts. Good back and forth match; Umaga moves very well for a guy his size. After the match, both guys were very nice to the crowd; Umaga even shook a little kid's hand, but the poor kid was scared to death i think!

The main event was the highlight of the night. Orton comes out first and plays off the crowd nicely; me (an Orton fan) and the section I was in get a nood and grin from Randy for the RKO chant we start. Cena comes out to his normal huge applause, although the boos from the crowd have increased since WWE was last in Baton Rouge. Great match, with Randy on the offensive for about 90% of it. I have to say this; Cena is turning into Hulk Hogan rapidly. After being beat down by Orton the whole time, Cena does the "Hogan miracle comeback" and starts to beat down Randy. After his comeback and the "5 Moves of Doom," Cena applies the STFU, but Orton reaches the ropes. He then goes for the FU, but Orton counters with a DDT. Both keep up at the count of 8, punches exchanged, Cena then bounces off the ropes and Randy lands an RKO out of no where. Cena kicks out, Orton beats him down again, and Cena reverses a move from Orton and then lands an FU for the win. After the match, Cena pumps up the crowd; he also does another Hogan-esqe move, going to each turnbuckle and seeing which side was the loudest. He then climbed the turnbuckle and showed off his belt; he did this on 3 turnbuckles, the only one he didn't climb was the one I and the group of guy I previously mentioned were chanting for Orton the whole time. He looked over at us and just waved us off, which we were perfectly content with.

I left out one part of the Orton/Cena match because I thought it was of particular interest. During the match, while Orton is beating down Cena, Orton applies the Sharpshooter. Now, I'm can't be totally sure, but I think I've seen Orton use the Sharpshooter in one match in the last 4 years, and that was at the 2004 Summerslam (although I'm sure he has used it many times before at house shows). He faced none other than Chris Benoit, defeating Chris to become the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history, which of course was his first title. Anyway, as Orton applies the Sharpshooter to Cena, he gets it locked in tightly. When Orton leans back to apply pressure, he look up toward the sky and says "Why?" I was completely shocked, and I was not the only one to notice this. A few others as well as my brother were amazed. He looked very sad and he destinctly said the word "Why"; this obviously was a reference to Benoit, and if it wasn't, it sure appeared that way. I just found this very interesting and wanted to point it out, because I don't believe everyone who wasn't as close as I was noticed this. He seemed very sincere when saying it and I don't believe it was meant to show any hate towards Chris. I wish I have video the verify my statement, but I assure you I am not making this up.

Overall, it was a great show. I enjoyed it and the matches were great, and the surprising touching moment Randy Orton showed really caught me off guard and made the show that much better.

RAW House Show Report
Baton Rouge, LA

1. Regal d. Crazy
2. Cade d. London
3. Rhodes d. Daivari
4. Marella d. Carlito
5. James d. Melina
6. Hardy d. Snitsky
7. Lashley d. Umaga
8. Cena d. Orton

Notes:

Every match was pretty good except for Lashley/Umaga, which was slightly
below average.
Rhodes gushed hardway after an elbow shot, but managed to finish the match.
Cena/Orton went about 18 minutes and was really good.

Cena as Hogan, nothing new.

Orton doing the Sharpshooter and saying "Why?" is kinda weird.

It would've been something to see, that's for sure.

I wonder if the sharpshooter will become a regular or semi-regular move in Orton's list? I don't see why not seeing that he needs a good submission move and I can't think of anyone else in WWE who uses the move regularly now that Benoit is gone.

Though WWE would probably try to avoid that for awhile seeing that they seem to be on a "everything Benoit=bad" period right now.
