I can't remember if we had a thread like this but I'll post it anyway. You need to pick 3 songs which best sums up the Past, Present and Future of your life. So really, we are looking for a song which sums up your youth, a song to sum up your present day and a song for your demise. I will allow people to give their feedback before I go. |

I can choose three from all one artist/band. There are a lot of choices that could work for these options, all from the same source. I'm going to try to choose the best I can. Past: "Lunchbox" by Marilyn Manson - It doesn't so much capture my entire childhood, just the negative aspects of it. It does a good job at capturing the mindset I felt during all the times when I was physically or mentally bullied, which happened almost constantly when I was a kid. Sometimes it resulted in fights, sometimes I couldn't find the courage to do anything. This song, to me, captures how I felt in those moments perfectly. Present: "Cryptorchid" by Marilyn Manson - Basically, it's the beginning of the end of the present. The cocoon stage of the transformation, when the worm becomes the disintegrator. Future: "1996" by Marilyn Manson - The possible outcome of the change. Either this, or "Coma Black" by Marilyn Manson would probably work. |

Past: "The Way" by Fastball - It's generally an upbeat, silly type of song that I started listening to when I was 8 (since it came out in 1998) so it really clung to me. It's not really a serious song, so I really thought it fit my childhood pretty well, which was a lot of fun. Present: "Somebody to Shove" by Soul Asylum - Not really my whole present, but a good portion of my teenage years. (from about 14-15 years) The first time I heard it was the day I was kicked out of a school (too long to explain) and didn't have anybody to talk to during it, so the "Waiting by the phone, waiting for you to call me up and tell me I'm not alone" line really hit me. Future: "Galvanize" by the Chemical Brothers - I don't know, it's a good song, and kind of pumps you up for a forecoming event. It's a song that pretty much dares you to "Push the button" and open up. |

Past: "Blury" by Puddle of Mudd. In the past I was looking in all the wrong places for what i truly needed. Present: "Alive" by P.O.D. For the first time in my life, i finally feel alive. Everything is actually perfect.... almost too perfect....... Future: I have no clue... I've looked and thought of many songs, but I cannot predict my own future. The funnest part of life is not knowing whats going to happen next. My song for the future is a mystery, for now. |
