I don't remember him getting drafted and I believe this is his return match.. on a house show. Poor Rey.

No. WWE just aired a commercial for Rey to come back to SmackDown! |

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

Aren't those matches from the Mexico house show? Obviously, Rey Rey is a MUST-be at WWE Mexican shows. |

STAY HYPED!!!

Which makes absolutely no sense from a continuity standpoint since he lost a "Loser Leaves SD!" match to Chavo months ago.

For the n-th time, I'll repeat it again: it was an "I Quit" match and if only Chavo lost, Chavo would leave SD! |

And for the N-th time, I'll clarify your own misconception and state that it was a "loser leaves SD!" I Quit match.

To validate my point, watch the past Smackdown! before the I Quit match. Listen to what Chavo says. Edit: I rewatched that segment with Rey, Vickie and Chavo. They never said "leave Smackdown" at any point. They just say "you leave"... more like saying "you get out of my life". Besides WWE never hyped that match as a "I Quit - Loser Leaves Smackdown" match. Just an I Quit match.

Yeah, you're right. My memory of the match is entirely fabricated as are all the online reports and results of that particular match, huh? |

like the internet's never been wrong. i actually saw that match on TV. not once did they claim it was a "Loser Leave Smackdown". it was booked as an "I Quit" match. trust me, those are completely seperate concepts. the only site that i know of, that's claiming otherwise, is the one you've linked (OWW). WWE is pretty clear about things, when they hype a match as "Loser leaves a brand". look back when Umage & Kane had their last singles match. it was hyped clearly as "the loser must leave Raw". if the same logic held true for Rey & Chavo, nobody would be disputing this point. if the house show was in Mexico, like i'm thinking, i've been hearing of the hype for awhile. heard that this was WWE's way of finding out, wether or not Rey needed more time off......or if he was healthy enough to get back on TV. plus, i heard that WWE wanted Rey to return in front of a Mexican audience, for obvious reasons. |

I distinctly remember WWE hyping the match as a "Loser Leaves SD!" match. They may have dropped the gimmick as they got closer to the match, but they did promote the match as a "loser leaves SD!" match. |

Cybrus is right. On the October 13 2006 episode of SD!, Rey beats Jamie Noble then they set up a "Loser quits SD!" match with Chavo... |

guess i simply fail to recall such a thing. all i remember is that it was an "I Quit" match.......which everyone expected Rey to lose, due to needing knee surgery. other then that, i can't recall hearing of a brand switch for Rey. even if WWE did say such a thing.....by small chance........you actually think they'll follow through with it? they have a tendancy to suffer from selective memory. |

Stand Back! There's a Hurricane Coming Through

I actually found a transcript.
The part I put in red is what makes it seem like a loser leaves SD! match. But, I think the way it was set up was that it wasn't a stipulation of the match, but just a storyline used by the two. They said if one said "I Quit" they wouldn't be able to show their face on SD! type of thing. Officially I don't think it was a loser leaves SD! match, but just setting up an excuse for Rey to be off TV. |

i think Purps is a genius. this could easily cause confusion, with the way they worded it. |
