Stand Back! There's a Hurricane Coming Through
I posed this question to a lovely young lady from London, so I will pose it to everyone. Seeing as we have a good selection of posters from all over the world, I wonder this:

Do Americans find accents sexy? If so which ones?

Do other countries find the American accent sexy? What about other countries?

I find any woman with an accent more appealing than an American woman of the same physical appeal. I especially love the English, Irish, and Scottish accents.

How about the rest of you?

A nice english accent can make a beautiful woman ten times more so.

The sexiest voice in the world probably belongs to Elizabeth Hurley, I think.

Other accents don't really do anything for me. Some actually take away from the appeal.

i find accents to be sexy, especially if the person has an appealing voice, to begin with. English accents on women can be pretty hot. Spanish accents can be pretty sexy, too.

i can't stand Boston or Jersey accents. they hurt the ears too much.

Jersey doesn't have accents! Seriously, I've lived here for 17 years, and haven't heard one non-New York or non-Immigrant guy speak with an accent. That's just me.

But as for the question, it depends. If this accent makes the person sound incoherent, (as in some of my math and science teachers in the past) then I would be turned off, but if it's kind of a subtle accent, (can't really explain it that much better) I don't have any issues with it.

That's because you've lived there for 17 years, idiot. Their accents are normal to you and therefore non-distinguishable.

Never really thought about accents as a turn on. Hmm, a French accent for a woman isn't too bad.

Yeah, but I've been to other places, and I didn't notice any other accents either. Except in the South (Florida) and New York, I haven't noticed a difference.

There's a difference, trust me. There's a HUGE difference.

I myself speak with a western american accent. From my experience, it seems to be the most common accent in the U.S. media. :-/
