I just read it in The Unbound Conversation thread and then a follow-up on Wikipedia.
I was never a huge fan or even a moderate fan, but the man did some physically amazing things (particularly surviving all his accidents). In some ways, I'm suprised he lived as long as he did. I wonder how Robby is handling it? I know he's had a stressed relationship with his father, at least in the past. |

Can anyone say... MEMORIAL JUMP?!?!?! Sorry. Anyways, he was a cool, cool, cat. I'm sure he's jumping over the gates to heaven right now... I told you I was bad at these things! |

The guy nearly broke everybone in his body. He danced with death so many times. To tell you the truth I was shocked that he died today, I thought he was already dead... Oh well, best regards to the Kneivel family. |

I got this really odd image of Evel dressed fully in his American themed bodysuit flying over a golden gate out of nowhere as everyone waiting in line just looks up like "WTF?". |

Jim Rome: So, Evel, if there was only a 50/50 chance that you would survive the attempt at the jump, then why do it? Evel Kneivel: Do you know who the hell I am? That was an actual quote from an interview on the Jim Rome show. Awesome. |
