Faction domination

After simmering for most of the year, faction warfare has boiled over in ROH. Recent shows have seen wild brawls and insane high-flying with up to 20 individuals. The sides have been set, the teams are made and here is how faction warfare stacks up in ROH:

ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay & Mark Briscoe

Overview: The brother pair is not a faction, but must be mentioned. They are the current ROH World Tag Team Champions. This means they have the prize that every faction wants in order to prove that they are the best. The ROH World Tag Team Titles aren't afterthoughts like in other promotions. The belts are the goal of every faction and the focal point of ROH.

Enemies: Everyone is after The Briscoes since they hold the titles, but Jay & Mark have their sights set on The Age Of The Fall when it comes to revenge. All you have to do is look at the picture on www.AgeOfTheFall.com or watch the 9/19/07 ROH Video Wire at www.ROHvideos.com to see why.

The Age Of The Fall (TAOTF)

Overview: The group consists of Jimmy Jacobs, Tyler Black, The Necro Butcher and Lacey. They claim they are not just a faction, but a revolution. Jacobs takes the leadership role, but Black spreads the message of their cause in his blogs at AgeOfTheFall.com. So far The Age Of the Fall have been in action packed matches featuring state-of-the-art tag team wrestling and insane brawls. In just two months they have made a significant impact on ROH.

Enemies: Jay & Mark Briscoe were the first targets simply because they are champions. The Age Of The Fall want the tag titles so they can gain power in ROH. Right now ROH is their platform to recruit for their movement. The titles would mean they would have more pull and a larger platform. Daizee Haze is always around to even the odds against Lacey as this is becoming ROH's longest running feud. The Vulture Squad have been in some wild matches against TAOTF, but have yet to score a victory over them. The Vulture Squad know they have to defeat TAOTF if they want to get into title contention.

The Vulture Squad (TVS)

Overview: The highest-flying faction is Jack Evans, Ruckus & Jigsaw led by Julius Smokes. They bring some of the most breathtaking, innovative teamwork and aerial action to ROH. Smokes makes sure the group remains tough and ready to fight.

Enemies: TVS are currently after The Age Of The Fall and No Remorse Corps. Evans has been feuding with No Remorse Corps for several months and now has dependable partners at his side. TVS has suffered some frustrating losses to TAOF and need to even the score. Right now Evans and crew want to finish the feud with No Remorse Corps

No Remorse Corps (NRC)

Overview: FIP World Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong, Rocky Romero & Davey Richards are the hardest-hitting trio. They will use chops, strikes and a variety of kicks to beat down opponents. They have come together as a well oiled machine in recent months with potent teamwork and athletic wrestling. They live up to their no remorse name as Erick Stevens found out on 10/5 in Edison.

Enemies: NRC aren't afraid to make enemies. Right now, they have TVS chasing their heels. NRC are also making a play at the ROH World Tag Team Titles. It is hard to argue that they don't deserve a shot so Richards & Romero will get one on 11/30 in Dayton. So far, NRC have been one of the more dominant factions, although they have been tested recently by TAOTF.

The Hangmen Three (TH3)

Overview: Adam Pearce, Brent Albright & BJ Whitmer with Shane Hagadorn are the biggest and most punishing faction. The group recently came together and are still finding their chemistry with each other. When it all comes together they will be a gang of ruthless bullies that will be able to overpower and outsize the other factions. Watch out for a barrage of suplexes from these bruisers.

Enemies: TH3 have made blood enemies out of Delirious, Kevin Steen & El Generico. In fact, Delirious, Steen & Generico have even come together as an unofficial faction just out of a thirst for revenge against TH3. This could turn out to be the most violent part of faction warfare.

For the record, super agent Larry Sweeney's lawyers contacted us and told us not to include Sweet & Sour Inc. since S&S Inc. is not a faction, but "an agency."

Another faction to keep an eye on is the brash and cocky YRR in FIP. The YRR claim they are everything you want to be- young, rich & ready for action. Chasyn Rance, Kenny King, Jason Blade & Sal Rinauro make up this rich boy group. They achieved their greatest success at FIP's November 9th event when Rinauro defeated Erick Stevens to win the Florida Heritage Title while Blade & King won the FIP Tag Team Titles from The Briscoes. Claudio Castagnoli and a variety of women have also been associated with The YRR.

Faction warfare is raging. Every team is at each other's throats. Each group wants to be on top. It all culminates on December 1st in Chicago when "Trios Tournament 2007" takes place. The main event will see the first ever 9-man, 3-team Scramble in ROH history. We will learn who is the best in Chicago.

I persanally like the NRC, TH3 and TAOTF.

I don't consider the Briscoes as one but I think this is saying that there are more people gunning for those titles than the single ROH one...or so it seems to me.

ROH has given life to the tag division in general, something that of course WWE doesn't seem to do. Well the SD! ones are getting more attention but I think the current champs aren't the best because but that's just me.

It seems to be the case when they don't know what to do with certain wrestlers.

The thing that RoH does is at any given show the RoH tag title matches can be the main event and NOT always the RoH World Title like you see in TNA and WWE.

I love the gimmick of the Age of the Fall. They are something that is really fresh in the world of wrestling like an emo'd nWo that want to take over the entire world and not just the promotion they are in. Other than that, The No Remorse Corps and Vulture Squad look good. I am mad that they dropped the Resilience because I saw Erick Stevens as the cornerstone of them. Hopefully Stevens joins AotF(it's a long shot I know but I can dream can't I?)

No Remorse Corps and the Briscoes are my favorites. I used to like the Age of the Fall a lot, but they grew on me really quickly. They need to bring a new wrestler into their faction (someone like Joey Ryan, Super Dragon or Joey Matthews would be awesome) to spice things up a bit.

Super Dragon was in RoH during the CZW invasion deal last year, he won't come back because he beat up a fan...

That was a time I became a wrestling fan again.

Both WWE and TNA weren't doing to much I could be like "this is something that I HAVE TO WATCH" besides some things here and there.

Necro Butcher was a part of the CZW invasion last year, too, wasn't he? Then why can't Dragon come back, too? He has that kind of pricky attitude that would fit great with the Age of the Fall.

They pretty much have a good amount from CZW now.

Guess it's a better balance and it's something that can bring and I'm sure has brought more fans in.
