It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

Just because Goldberg was recently mentioned in the Raw thread, I was thinking about who should have really ended his big streak. Granted the big streak was something to question about, but it could have been used to give a bigger push to somebody in WCW. Nash ended the streak, but even more criminal was that it led to the Fingerpoke Of Doom incident and gave WCW a huge blow. Atrocious shit. Who should have ended it? I could only think of 5 persons that could have ended Goldberg's streak. Booker T, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio (last one having his Giant Killer push beginning earlier). |

Weren't none of those guys main eventers at the time? Wouldn't having some midcard chump end the streak of their biggest star (one of them anyway) be kinda dumb? |

You could have build a midcard chump to be more than a midcard chump and then put him against their biggest star. A good feud takes months to build. ![]() Booker T could have been built well to take the streak from Goldberg at Starrcade. |

WCW was built in such a way that I doubt there could be any real satisfying end to Goldberg's streak. It was either going to go to an already established wrestler - meaning the pay-off is small - or it would have gone to a smaller ranked wrestler and, seeing how WCW was, they probably would've done nothing with them. Plus, with how unstoppable Goldberg was built-up as, regardless of who it was, the day he was defeated was the day he lost a lot of his appeal, I think. If you're an unstoppable machine for hundreds of matches in a row and you have fans because of that, regardless of how it ends or who ends it, it's not going to be as good as the build. |

Actually, Hall and Nash hit Goldberg with the stun gun thing and beat him. But, Booker T was the first man to pin Goldberg cleanly. |

by the time Booker got to pin him cleanly, it didn't matter. Goldberg didn't have the same appeal, which pretty much took away from the value of Booker's win. wasn't WCW on it's dying days, when Booker got that win? |
