- According to sources WWE Developmental wrestlers Katie Lea and Paul Burchill's gimmicks will be repackaged as a brother and sister duo who have sexual tension between them, similar to the movie Cruel Intentions.

It could be interesting, depending on where they go with this.

It could be but then it could be really disastrous for both, especially if they are trying to make a name for themselves.

I don't know. I'm more for the current Burchill gimmick than anything but I doubt we'll see that since he's not really known besides being a pirate (which I thought could've gone either way, but still was fun to watch) and Regals' apprentice at one point which I don't see why they cut that to begin with.

Katie is a badass chick that should just be stuck in what's left of the womens' division and build her up from there instead of an angle like this.

But I'll just take this like everything else as a rumor for now till it's on screen.

I think a lot of characters (I wouldn't really call it a gimmick) have that "make or break" potential. I think sometimes it depends on how the star embraces them. King Booker and Jay Lethal are probably two of the best examples that I think of off the top of my head.

I think this idea would be a bit more open ended than say a pirate gimmick or a garbage man, hockey player, etc.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
If they get over with the crowd and the thing succeeds, good for them.

Agreed.

Birchall/Burchill, is an awesome talent which was, admittedly, ruined by the Pirate thing but was entertaining none the less.

I don't like the angle, but if he is gonna get pushed, I'm all for it.

There are two ways I can see this happening:

1) Burchill debuts with a woman by his side. They make kissy kissy, are feely feely, and all that stuff, which leads people to believe they are a couple. After both are established, Burchill will be feuding with someone when his opponent threatens to reveal a secret (which is a re-occurring motif in wrestling). Burchill will try to stop it, but it will eventually be let out that the two are siblings.

2) They'll go "stupid redneck" on us and convey the typical, unsuccessful, unentertaining stereotype of a southern inbred couple.

Of course, I guess they could introduce them as brother and sister and then have subtle hints of sexuality between them. Meh.

Meh, if the angle turns out to be good, then more power to them and their push.

It's time for them to show what they got. If the angle is poorly planned, then its up to Pauly to make it work. If not, then he don't deserve the spotlight.

And who's the girl? Have I seen her before? Is she hot?

I see the latter happening. I think in a case like this, it'll be more of a joke gimic like Cryme Tyme. And, depending on how they carry it out, it could be entertaining.

poor paul, too bad he isn't still a pirate.

at the house show I saw, he was in a tag team with Dave Taylor in a sort of "Britian is superior" gimmick, (kind of a sub for Regal)

That would have been cool if they went through with it, too bad.

my personal theory is that Vince has a deep rooted "thing" involving incest, gay relationships & hillbillies. though, i suspect this thing with hillbillies is more out of hatred then anything else......probably because he wasn't born as a "city slicker" or something.

deep down, i have to wonder if Vince was ever involved with a situation involving incest, at some point in his life. i also have to wonder if he's ever been in a gay relationship, as well. he's sure been hellbent on having those 2 things happen, over the last few years.

Or maybe he just likes to touch upon different taboos to get people talking about his product.

Looks like it's over...

- Due to the new initiative by WWE to target 6-10 year olds, the incest angle between Paul Burchill and his "sister" Katie Lea will probably be getting dropped. The pair hasn't been on Raw since the 2/25.

Whatever, I never gave a shit about it...

The good thing is that the angle was dropped before the incest part ever started, so there's no chance that this will be Burchill's Eugene gimmick.

Do you know what that means? If it ddn't get to take off, it's probably still a fantasy angle of Vince's.

It's return someday. It'll return. Or try anyway.
