Ring Of Jankowski's Honor
|
Okay Ring of Honor just put out their fourth ppv, their fourth ppv was the worst out of all of them in my opinon. But in these four ppvs you have had a lot match of the year canidates get mentioned and introduced fans to a different style of wrestling. I was wondering how many new fans did Ring of Honor get because of the PPV showings. |

I officially became a ROH fan with their first PPV. I regrettably haven't seen the other three, but that first one blew me away. Before that, I had only seen bits and pieces of ROH. I'm not a big enough fan to really talk about the company much, though, other than recommending people to check it out (since it is a high quality company). |

My access to ROH is fairly limited and I haven't seen any of their PPVs yet, but I do have a couple of their DVDs and I liked most of what I saw. If anything, it would've been the Punk vs Joe II match that got me interested and wanting to see more from them and the previous two matches on that card was great too. The rest of the card was shit though. The most recent one I have is the 100th Show from 2006, so I haven't seen anything from them since then, but I'll probably try to check out others whenever possible. |

I first learned about ROH during my CM Punk phase. When I heard that guys like Styles, Joe and Daniels were competing in it, I immediately became a fan and started watching everything I could online. I saw my first ROH show live, just a few weeks back and now, I've become an even bigger fan than before. However, I have still not ordered a PPV yet. |

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

I've heard good things about ROH for a while back when I didn't care much about it... then I watched some stuff from them and I liked it, but my current viewing of ROH is sporadic at best. But I try getting a hold of the PPVs, which I happen to enjoy due to the wrestling they portray. |

BURN IT DOOOWWNNNNNNNN!

Though I don't watch ROH regularly because of having lack of access to the product, I've been a fan since last year. I love the wrestling aspect of it. |

Around the time TNA started, there was this other company that had a well known name being a part of the first ROH show which was none other than Eddie Guerrero. When you first watch the places that the events were held in that year, they weren't the greatest, but the wrestling more than made up for it. Most of the other names, alot of fans weren't to familiar with unless you were already in the indy scene or maybe watched matches from different parts of the world, most notably Japan. The thing is ROH didn't have start having a weekly ppv like what TNA was doing when it was commercial free and had lots of different stuff, which is what the industry I feel needed at the time. Both WCW and ECW were bought out so WWE had no competition until these two came along but even so, more people new about TNA because of the money that was behind it, along with the ppv exposure of giving the fans an option to see something, even though you had to pay for it. WWE was still having mostly good angles, including matches that was giving good revenue for them, with merchandise, etc. As time went on though, it seemed that WWE was lacking in the wrestling part, even though the ppv's were still ones to watch....most of the time. Both TNA and ROH were still trying to make names for themselves and for a while, some people compared the two with one another, besides that TNA had both the NWA title and tag ones, they had one they brought in with the X-division which seemed entertaining like when WCW had the CW division but the thing was they had no weight limits. ROH had their own titles but the matches were still getting more people to watch it which was by basically word of mouth. TNA started gaining more access to more viewers when they started showing it on FSN or where I got it CSN. There were a handful that you'd see that worked for both TNA and ROH, but if you saw it like I did, then you'd know, those wrestlers had more freedom to do stuff within ROH. Maybe management didn't want wrestlers that no one knew to much to stand out as oppose to the ones people were familiar with in WCW or maybe even WWE. Whatever it was, it started separating fans, having them fight over why ROH is much better than TNA or WWE, or how TNA is better than those two or WWE. Fans will be loyal and stick up for what they think is better. Some point out what is good and bad, or just down it all together, or even just praise it, thinking there should be no other way of how a company should be, even though we have no control over what they do. The only thing we can do is give our opinion on things, whether it seems ludicrous to one or great to another, it's our opinion and if someone steps up and says something bad, then that's them but you can always defend it, even if that person(s) doesn't want to hear it. I know people like to label a someone a mark or smark or whatever other name they can think of and we all or most are a mark in some way, and even a smark but we shouldn't be labeled all the time as one or even looked at differently because we may know more than the other, we are fans, and fans only. When you go to an event and sit next to people, no one looks at them as being anything, I guess unless you are always on the net but if they knew a good amount about something, I don't think some would label them as anything, just fans and that's just what I am, mark, smark, whatever. I feel both ROH and TNA have gained more and more fans in recent years but it's up to them to keep them. Guess that just depends on what people prefer to watch, like anything else. Member, you have the power to control what you watch. |
