Canada cuts ROH off PPV

Ring of Honor pay-per-views were recently pulled from airing in Canada because buys were practically non-existent. One of the major cable carriers only had three dozen (36) PPV buys for a recent show. In comparison, TNA has had as low as a few hundred PPV buys for their most recent shows. WWE and UFC are pretty much the only companies to do any PPV business in Canada these days.

Get a clue on what good wrestling is, you damn Canadians. :td:

I wonder how well they're advertised?

It also doesn't help when the PPV outlets (for ROH) are limited. I know DirecTV doesn't get them, which really cuts down on their possible numbers.

Maybe it's cause there just not good. I am one of the few to order an ROH PPV, beleive it or not. I have done so twice. It's nothing worth watching. I wish I could say at least the matches were good, but they werent. And the only reason you people like it, is because it isn't WWE. It's the same reason people liked TNA a couple years ago. You can choose to face the music or continue to live blinded. That's your choice. ROH just isn't good. And TNA tries so hard to be WWE it's almost to the point were it is sickening. If it weren't for Kurt, Booker and A.J, I wouldn't watch. People watch WWE and UFC because are the most entertaining things to watch. It's not about the "wrestling". And even if it were, ROH does not cut it in that department either, no matter what you want to think. But IF and when ROH does get bigger, that's when people will turn on it.

ROH doesn't cut into wrestling? ROH is the closest thing to pure wrestling.

You can't base your judgement on a few ppvs'. Most people that are pro WWE don't care to see what ROH has to offer because they are use to the crap fed to them from WWE, and maybe even because it's not as big or has household names.

Its' like watching a movie, and you may not like the actor/actress playing in it but just because you've only watched a few movies, doesn't mean that the actor isn't any good. John Travolta for instance is one of the best actors to some and he's had a few crappy movies but am I going to base my judgement on a couple of movies? No.

If didn't have a one track mind and were a bit open minded you'd see that they're storylines are mostly "wrestling" based.

If ROH doesn't get as big as WWE or even TNA, I doubt they would care less, because they are what you call and alternative to what is shown weekly or even monthly. Sure it might help financial wise but even so, the product itself would have to change to the networks liking, adapting more to what they think people want to watch.

That's why ROH is a choice, you choose watch it because of what they offer, just like any other company.

There are things that every company has flaws at, it just depends on which ones people want to point out, or rather try to.

Bottom line is basing an opinion on a few shows, is ludicrous, especially if you already have a mindset of it not being as good as the current product you've been praising for years.

You know what's funnier is I think I said something like this along the same lines last year but some just don't get it.

Because you were wrong then, and again now. I didn't go into watching ROH with a mindset that it was going to suck. What kind of person invites people over, spends 15 bucks, and buys muchies and shit, for something he wants to suck??????? I wanted it to be good. I don't want to spend 2 hours watching something shitty. It just wasn't good. Like I have said again and again, I would rather be entertained then bored. And ROH bores me.

You said the networks would make ROH adapt to what they "THINK" people want to watch. As if to say that what ROH is doing now would be just fine. When obviously that's false.

Once again, there is no right nor wrong, there's only opinion. If you call WWE entertaining than I guess that's you think.

See again you fail to realize that companies change when they feel that what they show to a group, doesn't appeal to another. TNA started out the same way and but once they started getting more and more exposure, they started changing, it may not be the way some want but that's just how it is.

Still regardless of how you or anyone thinks, trying to make an argument for something you barely have watched is pointless because you already have your mindset of what you "think" entertainment is.

Everyone has their own way of being entertained, whether it's you, the person next to me, at an arena, home, wherever, that's just how it is. Saying someone is wrong for having their own way of thinking is just dumb. We all have our own way of the way we look at things, if we didn't we'd be clones, in which the world seems to filled with them.
