Several Ring of Honor wrestlers missed last night’s show in Deer Park, New York due to the inclement weather conditions in the Northeast. Wrestlers that were unable to make the event included ROH Champion Nigel McGuinness, Davey Richards, Erick Stevens, Tyler Black, Brent Albright, and Roderick Strong. Due to several wrestlers being unable to make the event, the promotion set up a one-night tournament to determine the number one contender for the ROH Championship. Kevin Steen went over Go Shiozaki in the finals to become the number one contender.

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!
Doesn't this happen like once or twice a year for ROH during winter?

I don't think so.. Some is a possibility but not as many as here.

Now for more news.

Ring of Honor posted a storyline-related statement regarding the angle that heel manager Larry Sweeney did on Saturday night’s show in Manhattan where Sweeney knocked Allison Danger out of the ring and encouraged Bobby Dempsey to take advantage of her. Here is the statement on ROH’s message board: "ROH officials are embarrassed and apologetic over the actions of Larry Sweeney last Saturday at the Manhattan Center."

As noted in our show results, Kevin Steen won the one-night tournament at ROH’s Deer Park, New York show on Friday night to earn a shot at the ROH Championship. He will get his title shot against Nigel McGuiness at the April 12th show in Edison, New Jersey.
