WWE has opened new "industry news" section of their website and is posting news items in an insider fashion, much like we do. Most interestingly is an article that actually plugs TNA's Lockdown PPV with ticket information etc.

WWE have wanted to compete with the "dirt-sheet" websites for a while now, but my guess is somebody employed got the wrong end of the stick. It could also be a thing of arrogance.

The link to TNA advert here.

I find this kind of interesting. I wonder if it'd actually help with their ratings.

That's kinda weird... yet interesting... will that mean WWE will buy TNA or has already bought it?

That's just...odd. I never thought I'd see something like that from WWE. TNA maybe (since they're so obsessed with the 'E'), but WWE? Never.

Or maybe it's a way for WWE to say "hey TNA, we're advertising you, yet your ratings still suck".

I realised that and thought TNA took over.

Pretty funny shat!

Well didn't Vince help ECW a lot because he liked it? Maybe he's doing the same thing here with TNA.

...or maybe they're trying to help them so that they can have competition again?

Nah.

I never thought I'd be seeing something like this in my entire life. I doubt that section will last very long.

Yeah, that's what I thought at first. Funny though.

I would have thought that it was some feature that would link the news article to the WWE site immediately, and that's why the TNA stories got up there, but the fact that on Wrestlezone they have a few more stories that don't show up on WWE's site begs to differ.

Really really really weird, though...

And its right on the front for everyone to see aswell. Right underneath the main display, it has the options and if you put ur mouse on the industry box, its shows all the TNA stuff. Holy SHIT. One thing that's funny though, is it shows the TNA results. HAHAHA.

I think it's a really bold move, though. I mean one company not only acknowledging, but showing the results of the other, in a non-hostile way? Who would have saw that coming? I don't know how long it'll stay like that, but I honestly don't think it is something that can hurt the WWE, or especially TNA. Especially TNA...

It does look really funny though, because TNA is always bad-mouthing WWE, and now they come back and hug them. It's as if they're playing reverse psychology on them.

WWE has always been a better company, in every sense, but this....I don't know what to think of it. My super smart brain powers can't make any sense of it. Unless.....Yes.....yes that has to be it.....

TNA's last episode results from WWE.com's website.

Kinda weird...

Edit: They're also mentioning ROH and CHIKARA too on their website.

Maybe WWE wants people to stop looking at sites like Gerweck and Wrestling Observer. Who knows?

Yeah, so to do that, they post information straight from that site, and actually mention the site?

They haven't mentioned those two sites I said in my last post. Vince hates Meltzer, though.

- It appears Vince McMahon had certain people kept off CNN's "Death Grip" special while it was being filmed. While the CNN reporter, Drew Griffin, and his team were putting together the documentary, they wanted to do an interview with Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. On the day they were scheduled to come to his house to interview him, they had to back out as Vince wouldn't allow CNN to interview anyone in WWE, including himself, if CNN put Meltzer in the documentary.

:busy:

At any rate, it wouldn't be hard to think of Vince hating that guy.

Odd. After all the stuff that's been going between having that whole VKM thing and even when 3D came, I'm surprised they are advertising them.

Guess in a way this shows that WWE is willing to help somewhat even if TNA makes attempts at putting WWE or parts down.

Either way this is a first from a rival company that WWE has done since the ECW days.

You'd never see this with WCW though.

As for Meltzer, maybe it's that he's heard of his how some of his reports aren't truthful.

I don't know if one hates the other or what, but I do know that they have been at odds since the steroid scandal in the early 1990s. Vince McMahon was pissed at Meltzer because of his critical coverage of the WWF. Because Vince attacked him directly during this time, Meltzer began appearing in newspaper columns and TV talk shows. So, Dave should be kissing Vince's ass for making him famous. But Vince may still hold a grudge.

Something I just came across.

Apparently WWE’s new “Industry News” section on the official website was created to draw more unique visitors. The feeling is that there is a tremendous market for wrestling news on the Internet and the company is striving to make their website the ultimate destination point for professional wrestling online. There has been some concern about a drop off in traffic on the official WWE website. While the official WWE website is by far the biggest professional website online, the goal is to get even bigger.

I'd never feel comfortable getting all my wrestling "news" from the website of a wrestling company. Everytime I read something I'd think, "But this is WWE's take on it" or whatever company it was at the time. I'd especially take whatever they reported about themselves with a grain of salt.
