First or Last or In Between

I got to thinking earlier after watching Raw and do to the upcoming retirement of Flair, and being that his match is against one of the greatest, I was wondering what would you most remember as a wrestler of your liking?

Basically would it be their first match for some place that may not be big or the last wherever they end up? Or even what they have done in between?

I think of it like when I first watch someones first match I have no idea how well that wrestler may end up. Then you got ones that look like they could have it but eventually don't go anywhere and people know how good they can be if pushed right. Then again that could go for alot but some just have that it factor that follows them their entire career.

As I go back and look at some of Austins first matches I didn't think he would be as good as he was, it wasn't until he got to WCW when I started realizing that he could be something if given the right opportunity.

I guess it would depend. I mean you have alot of talent circulating in the most talked about companies here in ROH, TNA and WWE.

Some people say that they did much better in one promotion then they are presently or even switched around.

It'll probably depend on your own outlook and how much you have watched of that person throughout their career and understanding what dues they had to pay in order to get to where they are.

Which has probably my most upward respect. For a wrestler to pay their dues, and not just be given title shots or thrown into the main event because of certain reasons, even though they worked their ass off, but hey we all have something that we don't like seeing. That's most likely what separates alot of fans from liking certain wrestlers.

Sometimes a wrestler can be built somewhere but end up another place and just keep rising. Others may have to stick to what they are known for from a previous place.

Oh well, I'm rambling......if anyone has anything to add or say about this thread, feel free.

I kinda maybe understand what you're getting at. Like me, as you said, it really depends on how much I've seen of the wrestler and how long I've been watching. Shawn Michaels, for example, is someone I really didn't get into until he returned in 2002, and if I have to say what do I remember him most by, it would probably be his run from 2002-2004. Flair is pretty much the same. I rarely ever heard his name until he returned after Survivor Series, so I remember him most from about there to late 2003, with the one thing standing in my mind, his match against Triple H where everyone congratulated him afterwards. Austin? I remember him for the Attitude Era and not so much his time after returning in 2002. That's just how it works.
