Undertaker isn't great?? You can not make a statement like that and not back it up. Unless your one of the people who thinks that wrestling like CM Punk or some ROH guy is what it takes to be great?

The Undertaker has a great gimmick and he is the right guy to pull it off. His character is great. But, his in ring ability isn't great. He is good, but not great. I do like wrestlers that can wrestle. But, that doesn't mean that I am a blind mark for any guy that was in RoH or whatever. The Undertaker is in that category of people that annoy the crap out of me. He is a superface. Back in the 1990's he was one of those guys that you couldn't beat without some major cheating going on and I grew to dislike him as the years went on.

To me, his two matches that he is best remembered for are his HIAC matches with HBK and Foley. In those, HBK carried the match. He was the guy that took most of the beating and made the UT look good for the most part. In the second, the match really wasn't that good. It's remembered for Foley falling off the cage and going through the cage. Taker didn't really do anything.

As I said, great wrestling character, but not a great wrestler.

So Benoit who was a horrible character. Couldn't talk. Couldn't sell merchandise, and was horrible at everything besides wrestling. But since he could wrestle. He was great??

Where Taker. Can talk, he proved that as Bikertaker. Could sell merchandise. Could sell out every arena he entered. Probably the best character ever. VERY entertaining. And despite what you say, a hell of a athlete and wrestler. He is only good?

For me personally. And I'm only using Benoit as an example because I'm sure you think he was great. Undertaker is miles ahead of him. This isn't olympic wrestling. If it was, I would say Benoit is great. This is professional wrestling. And being a great wrestler isn't just wreslting holds. It's telling a story in the ring and outside the ring. It's entertaining. Undertaker is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time without a shadow of a doubt. Benoit is one of them aswell, depending on how wide your range of one of them is. If your saying top 5 then no. Top 10 maybe. Top 15 definitly. Taker is the third greatest of all time, only behing Bret and Austin. In my opinion.

Who ever says anyone in ROH is better then Undertaker is so stupid, this is coming from one of the biggest ring of honor fans. Undertaker is argueably the best person in wrestling today. He has the best gimmick in wrestling history, and hes a big man who can put on amazing matches. The man got a good match out of Batista how many people can do that the only person I can think of is HHH. Undertaker is in the top ten for best of all time in WWE and he is better then every roh and former roh wrestler.

First, never assume you know anything about me, mkay pumpkin?

Second, Benoit is a great wrestler in the ring. Undertaker is a great wrestler out of the ring. For an overall package, neither is great.
I have said his gimmick is one of the best there is. But I think there are several wrestler better than him:

1. HBK
2. Steve Austin
3. Kurt Angle
4. Rick Flair
5. Bret Hart

Just to name a few. I know what wrestling is. I've watched it for over 30 years. The Undertaker doesn't entertain me. Therefore I don't think he is great.

I'm going to take advantage of no ties and use this as a chance to move on to the next round of voting. From hereon out, the brackets are pretty straightforward. The winner of the first pair faces the winner of the second pair. The winner of the third pair faces the winner of the fourth pair. And so on. That gives us:

Round 2 Brackets
Undertaker vs Kurt Angle - No Way Out (2006)
vs
Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels; Hell in a Cell - Badd Blood (1997)

Undertaker vs Triple H - WrestleMania X-Seven (2001)
vs
Undertaker vs Batista vs Finlay vs Big Daddy V vs Great Khali vs MVP - No Way Out (2008)

Undertaker vs Batista - WrestleMania 23 (2007)
vs
Undertaker vs Stone Cold - Fully Loaded (1999)

Undertaker vs. Mankind - King of the Ring (1998)
vs
Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy; Ladder Match - Raw (2002)

Please use the same method of voting as above. Keep a tallied vote as you go. Cool people give explanations. If you only want to vote for certain match pairings, be sure to copy and paste the full bracket so the next person in line doesn't have to hunt for missing pairs.

Im so shocked the best match in WWE history is losing in this bracket of Takers second round. The Hell in a Cell match between Taker and Mankind, come on people thats what started all the holy shit stuff, no one ever saw stuff like that before that match. Undertaker vs Mankind KOTR Hell In A cell Match is the best of all time and its losing to a ladder match between Jeff and Taker that was on Raw.

I did love the Kurt Angle match, but the first HIAC will always be special for me.

Undertaker vs Triple H - WrestleMania X-Seven (2001) - 4
vs
Undertaker vs Batista vs Finlay vs Big Daddy V vs Great Khali vs MVP - No Way Out (2008) - 0

Has to be Undertaker - HHH, a close call here though I think that i a few years time, I'll remember the X-7 match more than I would do the Elimination Chamber. Too many weak links in the Chamber.

Undertaker vs Batista - WrestleMania 23 (2007) - 1
vs
Undertaker vs Stone Cold - Fully Loaded (1999) - 4

Storming comeback last round from my choice ;) Was a great match, though I reservations when nominating it, I soon began to realise how much I enjoyed everything about the match. The ending of a great fued.

Undertaker vs. Mankind - King of the Ring (1998) - 3
vs
Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy; Ladder Match - Raw (2002) - 2

Hard Choice. The great things about the HIAC were not planned, but the match was considerably more entertaining than the Hardy one. Though, Taker probably had to stretch himself more to make the ladder match decent.

Well I did actually see the Taker v Angle match at NWO. I was a bit dissapointed, but thats most likely because of all the hype about it. None the less, it was a good match. And I already explained that I think the first hell in the cell is only looked upon as well as it is, because it was the first. But it wasn't that great. So I took Angle/Taker

Undertaker vs Triple H - WrestleMania X-Seven (2001) - 6
vs
Undertaker vs Batista vs Finlay vs Big Daddy V vs Great Khali vs MVP - No Way Out (2008) - 0

Damn, my 2 picks. The Elimination Chamber was Taker's greatest performance. But the WM X7 was Taker's best WM match. So big ups to it. My pick.

Undertaker vs Batista - WrestleMania 23 (2007) - 3
vs
Undertaker vs Stone Cold - Fully Loaded (1999) - 4

I never saw that Fully Loaded. But I do know Taker/Batista was awesome so what the hell.

Undertaker vs. Mankind - King of the Ring (1998) - 4
vs
Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy; Ladder Match - Raw (2002) - 2

Taker v Mankind without a doubt. Neither of these matches was Taker's match. The HIAC was Foley's night. The ladder was Hardy's night. But the Foley's night, much more memorable then Hardy's night. So HIAC gets my vote.

The HIAC match was great, but I liked the Angle/Taker showdown better.

Undertaker vs Triple H - WrestleMania X-Seven (2001) - 7
vs
Undertaker vs Batista vs Finlay vs Big Daddy V vs Great Khali vs MVP - No Way Out (2008) - 0

The part with Triple H landing on that big foam padding still bothers me, but the Triple H/Taker match was better than the EC match.

Undertaker vs Batista - WrestleMania 23 (2007) - 3
vs
Undertaker vs Stone Cold - Fully Loaded (1999) - 5

Austin/Taker was the better match.

Undertaker vs. Mankind - King of the Ring (1998) - 4
vs
Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy; Ladder Match - Raw (2002) - 3

This HIAC match wasn't even a good match. It was a two bump match and that's it. Most of the match was Taker standing around stalling for time while Mankind tried to get back up. It's great if you like to see sadistic bumps, but the match itself wasn't good at all. The ladder match, however, was entertaining. It had bumps from Hardy (although, nowhere near the level of the two bumps from the HIAC match), but it was still a good match. Ladder match gets my vote.

The Undertaker v Mankind Hell In A Cell was not a long match. Nor was there many moves performed in it. However it WAS indeed great. And one of the greatest matches of all time. The first thing they did was climb to the top and throw Mankind off. Right there, forever cementing it's place in history. Yeah, Taker stalled for time while Mankind got up. WHatever. The pure emotion of Taker looking down on the destoryed Foley was a moment for the history books. Then Mankind got up, which no one thought would happen. HE CLIMBED BACK UP. Then almost as soon as he got up there BOOM, he gets chokeslammed through the top. Like WTF. Just because there was no dropkicks or submission holds and it happened real quick doesn't mean it wasn't a good match. It was, it was great.

So after that, Taker comes into the ring and clears out the people trying to save Mick Foley. Then they fought for a bit and out comes the tacks. After everything. The tacks come out. And of course, Foleys gets dropped on them. Then finally finnished off.

I have never seen so much brutality in such a short period of time. There is no validation in saying that match sucked. Because it doesn't fit the descrition of a "Benoit v Angle classic" Doesn't mean it wasn't great. This match had more emotion and classic moments in it, then any of the Angle v Benoit or the Benoit v Eddie or the Angle v HBK matches ever had.

Taker vs Mankind's HIAC match is an overrated 2 bump match. It wasn't a very good match at all. Read Foley's book and he'll tell you the same. Taker had a broken foot and Foley had a bad knee, so they couldn't do anything. They did the two bumps to keep the match from being a total stinkfest. Now, I appreciate that Foley took huge risks in the match, and big bumps can be entertaining, but the match itself wasn't good. End of story. You don't even hear people talk about the match. You hear people talk about the bumps. See the difference? Probably not, but there is one.

This is true. But I never said anything about the Hardy/Taker match being good because it was talked about often. I was merely counter arguing the claim that the HIAC match was good because it was talked about. And my counter-argument being that the match is never talked about, the bumps are.
