I'm glad that the tournament will take place all in one night again, instead of spreading it out match for match like they did last time. But I don't think KOTR has the same appeal that it once did. Maybe if the right person wins it this year, then it'll mean something. But right now, I'm apathetic about it. Not against it, just not excited by it. |

Fuck. If they bring back KotR it should be treated the way it used to be: as a means to hype up a midcarder by having them win several matches over the course of a month. |

Im pulling for Santino and Punk since their mid carders, Kennedy and MVP are too big. |

I was just thinking about the KotR yesterday. I'd prefer it if they brought it back like it used to be, with a full PPV. Maybe the winner gets a World or WWE title shot at SummerSlam (if KotR was in June or July)? KotR in any other way, like the way they're doing it, just wouldn't seem as imporant.

They're gonna use the KOTR tournament to elevate somebody to Main Event status in a faster way... |

I could see MVP winning it, only to lose the US title and then get elevated to the Main Event level. |

The KOTR works best when it is used to elevate a mid-carder towards the top of the card. Stars such as Stone Cold, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Edge, and Brock Lesnar all got their big push coming out of the KOTR victory. Of course, it doesn't always work out as shown by wins from Billy Gunn, Mabel/Viscera, and Ken Shamrock, all of which amounted to nothing after their wins. And even though I was against the idea at first, I liked how Booker T's win helped rejuvenate his WWE career. It pushed him past mid-card status and to the World Title. So history says that WWE is going to give the win to someone they want to push towards the top that isn't already towards the top. Which means even though guys like Triple H, Batista, and HBK are shown on the graphic preview for KOTR at WWE.com, I doubt they'll be in the tournament and I am confident none will win. One or two veterans may be in the tournament, but the win will go to a guy WWE wants to push up. I think the same exciting mid-carders we've been talking about for months are in contention to win: Kennedy, MVP, Punk. These are the three most exciting young guys on each brand that WWE wants to push up the card. I think one of these three have the best chances of winning. As much as I want Kennedy to win, I don't think he'll get any real push until his movie is completely finished filming. Punk already has the MITB to elevate him. So my favorite going into this match is MVP. My dark horse is Umaga. Still want Kennedy to win, but I'm predicting a win from MVP or Umaga. |

It also seems to work best when a heel wins, as they have for the most part, because they can then brag about being a king etc. I think Kennedy would probably be the best candidate for the job. His nature and arrogance would make him perfect. |

8 Men, and I see where Purps is headed with that comment. The last thing we want however is a King Booker, making people kiss their foot. |

The thing is it says most likely 8 man, but the past has had 16, whatever Mister and MVP are they to big to win the KOTR? |

Not even close. You want a "name" to win it. Neith guy is in the World title picture and the KOTR always tried to elevate people that direction. MVP, Kennedy and CM Punk are the main guys that should win. |

Where's the graphic? I went there, but I didn't see anything. I missed it. The official announcement article doesn't list official combatants, so the graphic doesn't necessarily mean those competing in the tournament are those in the picture. It could be as accurate as most PPV posters. Regardless, MVP would probably be the best pick (if Kennedy isn't available/won't be available). SmackDown desperately needs new main eventers and a KotR win could be enough to get him moving in that direction. An experienced guy, like Triple H or Shawn Michaels, just wouldn't make sense since they don't need to win a KotR tournament for any reason - unless perhaps it's for a title shot. |

HBK and Batista being in it would be so that they face off and get double count out or dqed or they cost each other their match. Neither would be there to win. Jericho is also a guy that could win and benifit from it. He is in a good position to be KOTR. |

But unless Jericho goes to SmackDown, there's no way he'd ever become anything more than an upper midcarder like he's been since he lost the Undisputed Championship. Actually, you could argue that he was then too since attention was more on the nWo, Rock, and Austin than the belt. Anyway... The RAW main event is crowded, so winning the KotR would do nothing more than give him something to brag about which would mean about as much as his IC belt in the long run - nothing at all. Unless he goes to SmackDown afterwards. |

A guy that would really benifit from it would be Elijah Burke. He is on ECW and it could be played to the hilt there. Also, it would push him up the card and could be a real boost for him. |

Boo on Kennedy winning it. What has he ever accomplished besides getting pwned by Finaly. Now MVP should win. For he is a true PLAYMAKER. I hope they keep with the 8 on the graphic. It would make for a hell of a tournament. Hey maybe Obama will win KOTR
