That's pretty much why he'll interfere...

Shit, I so totally forgot about Mysterio's ties to Show. Whoops, screwed up my predictions...

Im having 2nd thoughts on Taker v Edge. I picked Taker, but Taker got the last laugh on Smackdown. And EVERY Wrestlemania. The guy who gets the last laugh leading into the main event, loses. It always works that way. This would be the first year it changed since I can remember. It's a little harder with triple threat matches. Especially since no one got the last laugh. Orton tapped and Trips and Cena fought on the outside. But with Taker and Edge, everything points towards Edge winning. I dunno man, I dunno.

I might tape it. If anything, I'll try to catch some of it on WWE.com, but for no real reason my laptop has trouble streaming videos from the site, so who knows. I really only want to see The Rock and Ric Flair, and that's it.

To stream WWE.com videos, you'll need WMP 11 and the original version... I can view WWE.com videos from my brother's laptop.

I could buy the WWE.com stream, but I'm not so sure of wasting $55, plus I'll need a credit card from the States...

I'm pretty sure I have MP 11, but I don't really know why things don't work on my Laptop. It works on my desktop, though, so I might hang with that for awhile. I just don't like sitting on here for hours at a time watching something; that's why I have a TV.

Since I don't participate in the Roundtable, I'll just throw my predictions in here. Most of them are unchanged and what I've been saying for the past month:

1. Triple H will win the WWE Title
2. Undertaker will win the World Title
3. HBK will defeat Ric Flair
4. Mayweather will defeat Big Show ( :( )
5. Batista will defeat Umaga
6. Chavo will retain the ECW Title
7. Maria and Ashley will win Bunnymania

Those seven matches I am completely confident with. I'll be shocked if any of those predictions turn out wrong. Well, I won't be too shocked if Chavo loses, but I don't know what the hell is going on in ECW so whatever.

The other two matches are where I am debating with myself:

JBL vs Finlay - It's WM. Logic would dictate that Finlay would finally get his revenge and that Hornswoggle will show up on Finlay's side. However, it would be more interesting if Hornswoggle pulled a heel turn and cost Finlay the match. That's what I want to see happen. That would make for better TV. But I doubt WWE will go that direction. I'll play it safe (and probably regret it) and call Finlay for the win. But I want JBL to win.

MITB - Looking over the list, none of the seven are in any position to win. I thought Kennedy had it in the bag, but he wasn't on the final two Raw's before WM and was fed to Finlay on the Raw before that, which makes me think he isn't going to win. The only other two names I can see winning are Punk and MVP. I'll probably call it wrong, but I predicting there will be a surprise eighth entrant and that person will win. It could be Matt Hardy. It could be Mark Henry. I'm sure I'm 99.999% wrong, but I'm calling for a mysterious eighth guy win here. But I want Kennedy to win.

Jericho's another candidate to win the MITB since Jeff Hardy's gone. He and Kennedy are the ones with higher chances to win it. I'd like to see Jericho win MITB instead of Kennedy... but Kennedy isn't a bump taker compared to the other 6, so he'll win without doing much effort in the match.

I think Jericho has a very, very poor chance of winning MITB. MITB is won by people that WWE wants to move up the card. Jericho has been slipping farther and farther down the card since his debut.

Wow what an action packed ceremony.

What's a Brisco?

A type of dog food.

The Rock was ELECTRIFYING. And yeah, Triple H is the greatest of all time. That's what I think the message of tonight was. Maybe I'm crazy.

Damn fans booed HBKeezie. He doesn't have too much luck at these hall of fame thingys. Cena was lame. Ata Johnson had a better promo then him. IF A SMELLLELLLLLLL WHAT THE CROCK IS COOKIN!

Naitch made alot of those pussies cry. His family. Batista. Micheals. Big Show was balling like someone died. But good ol Trips. Solid as a rock. Not sure about Stone Cold. He looked like he wanted to cry. Thats not verey stone cold.

Best part of the ngiht was Santino Marellea. With his "Im watching you" motions.

Great hall of fame. I especially loved The Rock. ESPECIALLY loved The Rock. Funniest 10 minutes of 2008 so far. When Foley pulled out his sock, and Rock made the comment about Foley drawing a tux on his sock, I lost it. Then he made the comment about the troops being tortured by having to watch The Marine, which was unbelievable. The "DOOM" comment was even funnier. Good stuff.

Flair was a wreck though. He wouldn't even look into the crowd because it would have made him break down worse than he already was. I remember past Hall of Fames when somebody on stage would make a comment about how Flair was the best of all time, and he got that same reaction of crying. I thought it was cool though.

I got quite emotional during Flair's speech, as well. It was funny how they kept showing his son, Reid, as he'll probably be on WWE TV before you know it. For those who didn't know already, he was signed to a WWE contract, a few months back.

Here's a live report. Wow at the Benoit reference...

Wrestling News World

WNW reader Henry Jenkins reporting...

Here are some comments off the top of my head.

*The experiment of holding the Hall of Fame event in a large sports arena was not entirely successful. There were substantial sound problems at the beginning of the show to the point that even straining my ears with everyone around me being dead silent I couldn't make out almost anything being said. Thousands of people were almost continuously interrupting The Rock's speech with chants of "TURN THE MIC UP!" and "WE CAN'T HEAR YOU!" and when they finally adjusted the sound to fill more than the first few sections they called "PLEASE START OVER!" The Rock, obligingly, did and that's why the webcast was delayed. The larger arena also seemed to present an unlikely problem in that it drew a very wide, general wrestling audience, many of whom seemingly had no idea who The Brisco Brothers, "The High Chief" Peter Maivia or Rocky Johnson were and had no interest in finding out. The people around me kept complaining about how horribly boring the ceremony was and several either intentionally or unintentionally put their head down and took a nap. Larger and larger sections of the crowd would empty into the concession and souvenir stands area every time there was a break, just wanting to get away. Even Flair's speech was too long and taxing for most people despite being the most emotional I've ever heard.

*My jaw literally went slack with shock when Ric Flair very pointedly spoke warmly of Chris Benoit in talking about the Four Horsemen. It went even slacker when the audience roared with approval in one of the biggest pops of the night. I really didn't know how to feel about that. I understood why it was cathartic. I also know that my immediate reaction was to be horrified that people were giving Benoit a huge ovation. It was controversial to say the least, it was not subtle, it was likely completely and unapproved and I only wish I'd thought to see how the McMahons reacted in the front row at the time.

*Flair's speech went on for what must have been an hour or more until Triple H told him he had to finish up, beginning with a long, long list of thank yous to behind the scenes people that only Flair could have gotten away with, then for most of it talking about each of his greatest opponents in chronological order beginning with Ken Patera and going up through Shawn Michaels. He briefly mentioned Sting, which was very popular. He made The Big Show bawl when he said he was the best big man who had ever wrestled (right after talking about traveling with Andre the Giant.) He finally said who his greatest opponent was..... Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Ricky, who was sitting with Arn Anderson, took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. He told a story near the end about blowing a spot with The Undertaker in their Wrestlemania match, and having The Undertaker set it right back up for him and shout in his ear "You think you can make it this time, kid?"

*Ric Flair made two cracks at The Rock's expense, saying "The Rock - Oh, I forgot. We're supposed to refer to him as Dwayne now" and "John Cena - and by the way, you can bet that he won't leave wrestling to start making movies-"

*The crowd seemed to be trying very hard to hate The Rock but not succeeding. He received a mixed pop when he came out and was met with a lot of people shouting that he sold out, but then he would use one of his classic wrestling catch phrases and the same people would blow the roof off of the place cheering for him. He used all of the old standards - "FINALLY The Rock has come BACK to Orlando," "If you smell-a-lell-a-lell what The ROCK is cook'n," "It doesn't MATTER what you think," etc. He even essentially cut a promo talking smack about half a dozen of the newer wrestlers and got into a small back and forth with Santino Marella. He teased matches with the three people he "most wants a match against," John Cena, Rey Mysterio and Shawn Michaels, as well as a Stone Cold-Rock IV Wrestlemania confrontation, the suggestion of each of which drove the crowd into further frenzies. I think everyone was expecting Dwayne Johnson to show up and when they got The Rock instead they were overjoyed.

*Mae Young was inducted by Pat Patterson, not Stephenie McMahon.

*John Cena came out to largely negative heat and promoted Wrestlemania, talking about how it was the Hall of Famers who paved the way for tomorrow night. They also ran several of the Wish You Were here promos with Mae Young tongue kissing a supposed drowning victim and Carlito taking Maria out to dinner.

*It was interesting who among the crowd broke character and who didn't. Umaga was barely recognizable in a suit, which surely his character would have ripped off with Tazmanian Devil-like efficiency in a matter of seconds. Snitskey was in a suit. But MVP was still wearing a dew rag. Rey Mysterio wore his mask with a suit. Mick Foley wore this 1970s style big brown coat that looked appropriately mangy but out of place. Ashley looked very elegant despite her pink hair. The Undertaker did not seem to be present, perhaps because formal dress would have been a violation of his contract.

*Matt Hardy was sitting with Ashley, not Maria (as one reporter had commented that he and Maria seemed to be a couple.)

*Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena sat side by side in the front row along with Shane, his wife, Stephenie and Linda. Vince made a very brief appearance walking out from behind a curtain and along the back of the room but was for the most invisible.

It occurs to me I should also mention as a precautionary tale for those attending tomorrow night that the taxi situation was an unqualified disaster. There were hundreds of people gathered in front of the Marriott waiting for taxis. I walked further into downtown Orlando trying to avoid the mob and a couple of miles away I was still running up against people holding Hall of Fame programs who were trying to flag down the same taxis I was. None of the taxis were stopping. I walked until I had blisters on my feet and when I finally caught a taxi it seemed almost like random chance, as though I just as easily could have kept looking for several more hours. The whole time I was going back to the hotel the radio was filled with the voice of a frantic dispatcher calling all cars to go get those people. Since Wrestlemania tomorrow night should have seven times as many people in attendance as the Hall of Fame there is some cause for concern that the situation could be significantly worse. There might literally be no way out of downtown tomorrow night for people who don't have cars.

I'm so excited. I couldn't even sleep last night. I stayed up until 3am watching some of the past WM's. WM X7 is still awesome no matter how many times I watch it. Bret Hart v Stone Cold is still awesome no matter how many times I watch. WM 22 is still amazing and doesn't get enough credit. Probably 3rd or 4th best WM of all time. I watched all the MITB's. I LOVE WRESTLEMANIA AND I CANT WAIT. 6 MORE HOURS.

I spent a lot of the morning reading up on articles about the HOF and on Shawn Michaels. I honestly think Flair/Michaels could become of the greatest matches of all-time, including the actual content of the match, the outcome, and the emotion you know that's going to come out of it. If Flair loses, everyone will be standing and crying. If Flair wins, it'll be a humongous "HOLY SHIT!" moment. I don't see how this can disappoint. I'm so hyped up about this one match I completely lost track of all the other great matches that are going to take place. It's going to be a special night, no doubt.

I hate the fact that Mania in the UK is only shown on Sky Box Office. I miss the good old days when it used to be on Sky Sports.

I always find myself looking on the internet for any websites that do live streams of the event but never remember to visit them nearer the showtime.

I know though that within a few days YouTube will be littered with videos its just a shame because i enjoy watching the event live.

I personally look forward to watching the Flair/Michaels match, it is shaping up to be an emotional match for both men.

I have it ordered ready and the tape set.

I have done that since WM 21 because my VHS cut out an hour before WM XX.

I have heard **Spolier** That Matt Hardy may be a suprise entrant into the MITB match.

Also...

Holy Crapola about the Benoit thing!

Here's an article I found on WWE.com about the pyro. There is one part bolded that I found hilarious:

Quote:

ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’ve ever watched a WWE event and been startled, stupefied, blinded, deafened or just plain awe-struck by the fantastic choreographed explosions of color and light, then you’ve appreciated the work of Ron Bleggi, WWE’s chief pyrotechnician.

But even though Bleggi and his team have often left audiences stunned before matches with their favorite Superstars have begun, fans are in for a special treat when WrestleMania XXIV comes to the Citrus Bowl, this Sunday.

“The pyro this year, not only WrestleMania pyro-wise, but pyro for any one entertainment show, will be the single biggest ever,” Bleggi said.

While last year’s indoor display – inside Detroit’s Ford Field – had elements that shot up to 150 feet in the air, this year’s outdoor pyro will tower to an astonishingly high 2,000 feet. That’s more than a third of a mile in the air — and high enough to literally affect flight patterns.

“We had to contact the Federal Aviation Administration,” Bleggi admitted, “and tell them we’re shooting pyro, how high it’s going to go and exactly where it’s going to be, so they don’t have any planes flying overhead.”

Still, even at 2,000 feet high — and boasting a pyro price tag larger than the last two WrestleManias combined — crafting a pyrotechnics display isn’t just about “going big.”

“We do not just blow up pyro to blow up pyro,” Bleggi assured. “Every bit that we do has to make sense.”

It’s such a pre-calculated effort, in fact, that Bleggi and his team spent the last six months visiting the Citrus Bowl. While there, they’d investigate the building’s architecture, decide over the varying types of pyro, how much of it, and where all of it should go. Once those details were in place, the experienced creative juices began to flow, as the pyro team then crafted individual Superstars’ pyro by “looking at their videos, listening to their music, [and] looking at their colors.”

Though Bleggi is hesitant to give away too much of the surprise, he and his crew are using The Grandest Stage of Them All to try out some new things: “You’re going to see stuff you would never expect some of the wrestlers to get, but I think when the fans see it they’re going to say ‘that makes sense for Y2J,' 'that makes sense for Big Show.' ”

Bleggi’s enthusiasm was too great to keep him completely taciturn, however, and he let slip some details regarding the entrance of The Phenom himself: “I mean Undertaker has got a lot of flames and a lot of propane gas and we always try to make Undertaker’s entrance spectacular, I mean with The Deadman we go all out every year … our fans are used to seeing flames upward of 30 feet. We will have flames four times that high this year and we will have flames higher than the stadium itself.”

But what about The Greatest Fighter in the World? Though he’s seen his fair share of action elsewhere, Floyd “Money” Mayweather will compete in the squared circle for the first time this weekend against The World’s Largest Athlete, Big Show. The excitement of that match will begin before the contestants even enter the ring. However, Bleggi said, “We have something very special planned for Floyd that I think the fans are going to think is very cool, something we’ve never done before.”

Bleggi and his team are confident they have crafted a show that will be difficult to top. His only advice to our fans around the world enjoying it?

“Every time you think you see something cool, just know that something bigger is coming … What this is going to look like is Fourth of July meets the Olympics during the Super Bowl.”

And if none of that was clear enough, Bleggi had one final WrestleMania prediction Sunday night: “We’re in Orlando, and we’re going to make even Disney jealous on this one.”

There goes TNA's plans.
