Stand Back! There's a Hurricane Coming Through

I had the sound turned down because I was on the phone. I'm glad I missed it.

McCain is on last. I think I know who Vince is voting for.
Barack actually did a decent promo for what it was. I don't remember anything about it other than the "is cookin'" line, but it didn't make me roll my eyes like Hillary's. |

McCain was actually funny on Letterman. Maybe he'll be funny here. Or not... Old guy quotes Hogan...

His is even more corny than Hillary's. It's so horrible (in the best way possible). Like an old man desperately trying to be hip. ![]() I would've cracked up if he would've been cut off after saying "Americans don't watch wrestling". None of them seem like they're uptight, though, that's always good. |

He used a Hogan reference (McCainiacs) and said "No Surrender" (TNA PPV)... |

I didn't think of that connection. Too bad he didn't say "it's real. It's damn real." at the end in that case.

One of them should have had a Bush look-a-like when the scene opened and then they could have run in with a chair and cracked him. Then they could have cut their promo.

I think they used him last year or two years ago or whenever they last did a look-a-like thing for him. Has everyone just forgotten that Maria beat Beth so she could pose in Playboy? |

Didn't they use that Bill look-a-like in an old WWF PPV from the mid-90s? I remember a friend of mine was totally convinced it was the real Bill Clinton - even when watching it in 2002. I think that Clinton look-a-like might've been the old announcer guy from Jay Leno that Stuttering John replaced, though. Anyway... So any bets on what the next celeb vs celeb match that few that don't make a living with their lips planted to Vince's buttocks want to see? |

You know this is a good show they have going tonight, the previous match not withstanding. But, that Clinton vs Obama thing and the fact that the candidates were on the WWE show will have the WWE all over the news so, mission accomplished. But this "free KoTR" reminds me of how WCW used to have Clash of The Champions. Maybe the WWE will make this a permanent thing. Every year KoTR is a free ppv. |

They could do the KOTR tournament every two years... oh, the finals is gonna take place now. |

KotR coming back regularly would be cool. It'd certainly be better than it just being a random event. When it's random, it always seems like they're just bringing back to give an extra *umpf* to someone's push because they decided "hey, why not?". Still, I'd prefer it if the KotR was a PPV again. WWE has way too many generic PPVs. Bringing back the KotR full time as a PPV would help that a bit.
I was thinking about that, but I was thinking - what's the point? It's doubtful that the people that hear about this or talk about this will tune in if they don't already. And WWE is already synonymous with wrestling for most people. I don't know how many people I've heard use WWF or WWE as a generic term for wrestling. Basically, if it was TNA, I could understand completely since they're still pretty unknown. But for WWE? It just seems kind of pointless. |

I don't mind Regal winning. I have always liked him and thought he could be used more. But, I'm not sure where the WWE is going. I hope he does get some kind of run out of this. Maybe he will move back to being an active wrestler and give up the GM job. |

They'd better otherwise what was the point? Could Regal be a contender for a world belt? Perhaps on SmackDown? You know, pull a Booker. |

There doesn't have to be a point for everything. The WWE was pretty much forced into more 3 hour shows on USA, cause it brings in good ratings. So WWE has to find something special for all of them. They decided KOTR. Regal won. He'll brag about it. That's it. Maybe a Regal v Finaly fued will come. Thats about it. Great ending. |

They could have Regal feud with Punk and maybe even take the MITB briefcase... WWE did accomplish its main goal on getting the 3 real candidates on their show and their promos would have other non-wrestling related persons talking about it... briefly. |

The gimmick match itself wasnt too bad. Well the wrestling part was. But Bill was hilarious. "She hasn't been touched in years' HAHA. I know all the close minded people shut it out before giving it a chance, but I give everything a chance. And Bill was great. The rest sucked, but that was on purpose, so that fans would be happy when Umaga came out. Ther turning him face and that was the point of this segment, |
