WWE Championship Fatel Four Way If two’s company and three’s a crowd, then four, well, four can be downright fatal — especially when you combine the lethal elements of Randy Orton, Triple H, John Cena and JBL in a Fatal Four Way Title Match at Backlash. The lethal wheels were set in motion the moment Raw General Manager William Regal arranged a Backlash title bout pitting Orton, the reigning WWE Champion, against media maven JBL. Triple H interrupted the GM to make the case that he should be given a title opportunity as well. An intrigued Regal then set a Handicap Match between Triple H and Orton & JBL. The Game emerged with the victory and an opportunity at the WWE gold. Not to be outdone, Cena’s entrance music broke, and the leader of the Chain Gang pleaded his case with the Raw GM as well. Regal allowed Cena the same opportunity he afforded The Game — a Handicap Match, this time against JBL and Triple H himself. While the Legend Killer hoped to better his odds and preserve the “Age of Orton,” he watched helplessly as, in one night on Raw, he saw the odds of preserving his reign dwindle to 25 percent against three former WWE Champions. It all started as the friction between Triple H and JBL came to a head, distracting from Cena. After inadvertently receiving a JBL punch to the face, Orton, in a fit of rage, leveled the media maven with an RKO. Cena quickly took advantage and covered JBL for the pinfall and a title opportunity at Backlash. While Orton managed to scrape out a victory in his Triple Threat Match against Triple H and Cena at WrestleMania XXIV, can the Legend Killer possibly hope to overcome even stiffer odds with JBL in the mix? If not, which of the remaining competitors will survive the Fatal Four Way Title Match to lay claim to WWE gold? World Heavyweight Championship After winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania and moving to 16-0 on the Grandest Stage of Them All, Undertaker now heads into Backlash to defend his title against the obsessed former champion, Edge. The rivalry between The Phenom and the Rated-R Superstar has been on and off for nearly a full year, with each Superstar holding the gold during that time. Edge had time and time again slipped through the clutches of Undertaker, but his overconfidence heading into WrestleMania XXIV may have been what cost Edge the title. Now he must face an uphill battle in trying to take it back from The Deadman. Will Edge’s vow to Vickie come full circle at Backlash? Can the Rated-R Superstar and his entourage find a way to peel the gold away from Undertaker? Or will the best laid plans of the Ultimate Opportunist rest in peace thanks to the World Heavyweight Champion, The Deadman? The Great Khali vs Big Show The ground is sure to shake at Backlash when the mammoth Big Show takes on The Great Khali. The two oversized Superstars are set to take part in the biggest match at the pay-per-view – literally. On the April 1 edition of Raw, The Great Khali wasn’t joking around when he interrupted Big Show and cast him a stare that would send most people running. But Big Show returned the favor, getting into the Punjabi giant’s face on SmackDown later that week. A week later, Khali made a peace offering that Big Show wanted no part of. After responding to the peaceful proposal with physicality, it became apparent that these two giants could only settle their differences inside the squared circle. Big Show is coming off a tough loss to Floyd “Money” Mayweather at WrestleMania XXIV in what many saw as a David vs. Goliath match of sorts. At Backlash, however, it will be two Goliaths pitted against one another. Something has to give at Backlash. And for our fans, hopefully that won’t be the ground. ECW Championship It didn’t take long for Chavo Guerrero to secure his rematch with ECW Champion Kane. Then again, it didn’t take long for the Big Red Machine to capture the gold from the self-proclaimed “Mexican Warrior,” either. Despite the quick contest between Kane and Guerrero at WrestleMania XXIV, Kane traveled a difficult road to obtain the title. In a special FreeView presentation of the 24-Man Battle Royal, Kane outlasted the likes of The Great Khali, Mark Henry and other monstrous competitors to become No. 1 Contender to the ECW Title. Later that evening, he relied on strategy, which proved to be effective. He took the defending ECW Champion by surprise and laid him to rest in a mere eight seconds. While Chavo doesn’t argue that he lost, he does point out that he had the difficult task of preparing for 24 different Superstars that night. Backlash, however, is a different story. The former ECW Champion has had since WrestleMania to train with Kane on his mind. He ensured he would have an opportunity to win back the gold before CM Punk used his Money in the Bank ticket, should the Straightedge Superstar choose to earn back the ECW Championship. Now that Chavo has his chance, will he make the most of Backlash and hoist the ECW Title once again? Or will Kane further illustrate why he is deserving of his championship status? Shawn Michaels vs Batista: Special Guest Ref. Chris Jericho After two confrontations, one on SmackDown and then again on Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel, it’s official: Shawn Michaels and Batista will go one-on-one at Backlash with Y2J acting as special guest referee. Michaels and Batista have argued back-and-forth on whether or not HBK made the right decision by ending Ric Flair’s career at WrestleMania XXIV. The Animal blames Michaels for ruining his mentor’s livelihood, going so far as to tell HBK that he should have laid down for Flair on The Grandest Stage of Them All. The Interpromotional Challenge was inked by Raw GM William Regal and SmackDown GM Vickie Guerrero moments after the Highlight Reel confrontation on Raw. Never one to back (or lay) down, Michaels has fired back that he gave Flair “exactly what he had asked for at WrestleMania,” adding that, he did “what anyone would have done.” The idea to have Jericho officiate came about when Raw traveled to England. It was there, in his homeland, that Regal made the decision to put Y2J in stripes after watching a frustrated Michaels silence an antagonistic Jericho with Sweet Chin Music. What will happen when Michaels and Batista, two top-caliber athletes, and former champions, collide at Backlash? Will Batista unleash his anger over Flair’s retirement on the man responsible? Or will HBK give The Animal exactly what he gave Flair at WrestleMania – the fight of his life? United States Championship Tensions between United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter and Matt Hardy have been heating up for months, but thanks to a United States Championship Match between the two — as first announced in WWE Mobile SmackDown After the Bell — their conflict could be settled at Backlash. Before MVP put Hardy out of commission for a span of five months with a knee injury, the rivals found a way to coexist as a tag team, going on to become WWE Tag Team Champions. With a common goal in mind – maintaining their championship status – the Superstars were able to set their differences aside and find success in the ring. But now their reign as titleholders is over and the enmity between them is loud and clear. Although the WWE Tag Team Titles are out of the picture, gold is still the central theme between these two. Hardy is licking his chops over MVP’s United States Championship as well as for a taste of revenge. Meanwhile, MVP is salivating at the chance to get back at Hardy for diminishing his chances of a victory at WrestleMania XXIV when Hardy sent MVP flying to the canvas during the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. In non-title action on the April 4 edition of SmackDown, the returning Superstar defeated the champion, letting MVP get a feel for the idea of losing the United States Title to his former tag team partner. What will happen as the pent up aggression between these two forces explodes in a contest for the gold? Our fans will find out once and for all at Backlash. 12 Diva Tag Team Match At Backlash, the WWE Diva divide comes to a head as new Women's Champion Mickie James captains a team of the Sexiest Women on Television against former titleholder Beth Phoenix and her squad of sultry competitors. Just more than one week ago, Mickie scored one of the biggest victories of her career against The Glamazon, ending Phoenix's lengthy reign as Women's Champion. But before she could celebrate, Mickie found herself confronted by the former champion, who argued that the loss was nothing more than a fluke, a slap in the face to The Glamazon. Then, in front of a ring full of Divas, SmackDown's Michelle McCool used an open palm to show Beth the true meaning of such a slap. The ensuing all-out melee ultimately ended with the fan favorite femme fatales standing together, united against the oppressively dominant Glamazon and her group of WWE's more nefarious women. Now, this collision will continue inside the ring in a much more official capacity on Sunday at Baltimore's 1st Mariner Arena. Which team will prevail as Mickie, Maria, Ashley, Michelle, Cherry & Kelly Kelly face The Glamazon, Melina, Jillian, Layla, Victoria & Natalya? Tune in this Sunday on pay-per-view to catch the spicy Diva action at Backlash. |

The match to kick things off is the United States Championship Match. Fat and stupid Matt Hardy made his way to the ring first. In the flashbacks they showed the attack from MVP 5 months ago and then showed Matt Hardy's return at Wrestlemania. And by the way, Micheal Cole and Mick Foley are doing the commentatin. Mike Adamlie called it Blacklash. Fool. They did the introductions when both men were in the ring, like this was some sort of big match or something. They kick things off with a grapple up. MVP went right for the knee of Matt, Mick Foley mentioned that it was good strategy. I doubt he will a heel commentator, but it's intresting to see him praise MVP. Then again, there isn't much to praise Matt for. Once Matt started getting some shots in, MVP retreated to the outside but Matt chased him and threw him back in and started doing some boring rest holds. MVP was able to Matt into the corner and escape the side headlock. A kick to the gut and MVP was on the offensive. He got a big backdrop on Matt and th first near fall took place. MVP wanted a backdrop off the top rope but Matt elbowed him off and then went for the Asian Moonsault, however Matt landed on MVP's knees. Wonderful reversal. MVP worked on Matt for a bit, then Matt nailed the worst samoan drop I have ever seen. It wasn't even a Samoan drop, it was something else. I dunno. MVP got up and right back to work on Matt again. Oddly, he wasn't really going after the knee. He did hit that move where he puts Matt on his shoulders and tosses him backwards. When MVP lined him up for that kick, Matt jumped up and hit a closeline. Matt did some closelines and hit his bulldog out of the corner and got a near fall. MVP reversed the Side Effect and hung Matt up off the ropes. But Matt reversed the Play Maker into the Side Effect. But as fat Matt climbed to the top, MVP got up and dropkicked Matt. He went up for a superplex, but Matt fought him off and hit another Side Effect, this time from the middle rope. MVP just barely kicked out. MVP reversed the Twist OF Fate into a backslide pinned and used the ropes but that bastard ref caught him red handed. MVP then hit that running kick to the head on Matt, who was on 1 knee at the time. Matt fell to the outside of the ring. Matt made it back in at the 9 count. MVP went right back to work on Matt, with some kicks to the gut and another one to the head. And then another to the head. Matt is in bad shape. MVP lined Matt up in the corner for anothe kick, he goes running at him but Matt moves and nails the Twist Of Fate and we have a new U.S Champion. Fat Matt. Burn in hell, I hope he dies. Winner: Matt Hardy via pinfall after the Twist Of Fate. Match was about 13 or 14 minutes long. |

The Diva search winner Eve interveiwed Matt Hardy. He listed the belts he held and said this was the biggest championship win so far. Matt's big part was "MVP I have only one thing to say to you" it took him exactly 18 seconds to say it, fucking fool "I am better then you" We all know he isn't better then anyone. What a loser. The 2nd match of the evening is the ECW Championship match. Chavo came to the ring with Bam Neeley at his side. They showed a replay of the attack on Kane from ECW. Man Chavo really did a number on Kane's knee. Kinda unrealistic, but whatever. Adamie hasn't screwed up yet. He got "Cutting Edge" right. Kane came out limping a little, haha. Once again the introductions were done with both men in the ring. Maybe this is a new thing. Uh oh, Adamie got the referee's name wrong. He said "we gotta play close attention to referee Scott Armstrong" and Taz was like "No that's actually....I forget the name....but good try". Kane beat the crap out of Chavo right away. He did a dropkick. Then some crazy neckbreaker thing, that is hard to explain. Then he picked him up over his head and tossed him halfway across the ring. Chavo tried to get back into it and went at Kane's knee. But Kane tossed Chavo to the outside. Then put Chavo in a bearhug and drove him back first into the post. But when Kane put Chavo in the ring, Chavo dropkicked him before Kane could back into the ring and Kane fell on his knee. Chavo went right to work on the knee. Taz scewed up and called Kane, Chavo, then he was like "I pulled a Adamlie" haha. Bam Neeley got involved and whipped Kane's leg across the ring post. Chavo went right back to work on the knee of Kane kicking it and twisting it. Kane kicked him off a couple times, but Chavo went right for it, somehow Chavo ended up in the Electric Chair position and Kane hit a big Electic Drop. But it really didn't do much cause, Chavo got right back up, Kane ended up doing his sit up thing and nailed a Big Boot on Chavo, followed by some closelines in the corner and a sidewalk slam. Kane went to the top rope and hit the flying closelne. Chavo reversed a move Kane was going for into a tornado DDT, then went back at the knee. Chavo went to the top rope but Kane grabbed him by his throat and started to climb. Chavo knocked him off and went for the Frog Splash. Kane stuck his arm up and caught Chavo's throat. Kane got up and Chokeslammed Chavo. 1...2..3 Kane retains. Winner: Kane via pinfall with the Chokeslam. Match was about 10 minutes long. |

Randy Orton had a interveiw with Todd Grisham. He said tonight, everyone will realise just how real the Age Of Orton is. Our next match up is Big Show vs Great Khali with Khali being the first one enter the ring. The stood toe to toe and there was a cool camera veiw looking up at them. The crowd was pro Big Show as you would expect. They went nose to nose for a bit then Khali pushed Big Show, then Show pushed back then Khali got 3 shots inon Big Show, then Show got one and they started trading shots, then they started trading headbutts for heavens sakes. Then they traded chops. Pretty cool. Then a big closeline by Khali dropping Show, like he was some sort of Cruiserweight. Some "you can't wrestle" chants were directed at Khali. Rude people. Big Show fought back with some headbuts, and went for a slam, but Khali clubbed him and kicked him out of the ring. Khali tossed Show right back in. And kicked him in the head again. And if you can beleive it or not, Khali locked in the Crippler Crossface on Big Show. No word of a lie. Big Show got out of it and went for a slam again, but he couldn't hold him and fell backwards with Khali on him. Khali locked in a nerve hold for a little rest. Show eventually fought out of it only to get a big Karat Chop to the dome for his efforts. Big Show kicked out. The fans chanted "boring" but they don't know what there talking about. They think Cena is cool. Cena never brough a goat and a rooster to the ring did he? Didn't think so. OH BOY, Big Show finally got that body slam on Khali, but Khali kicked out. The traded shots again, then Khali went for the Khali Bomb but Show broke out ofit and it a big Chokeslam for the pinfall and the win. Winner: Big Show via pinfall with the Chokeslam. The match was 8 minutes long. BACKSTAGE Cena was flirting with Jimmy Ching Chang and Orton came up and told Cena he was gonna lose like he did at Wrestlemania, Cena then told Orton he was going home a broken man. Cena then ran to go catch up with Jimmy Ding-a-Ling. It is now time for Shawn Micheals vs Batista with Y2J as the special referee. This is the first match with a preveiw video. Jericho was introduced first and then out came the Animal Batista followed by HBKeezie Shawn Micheals. I have realised they do the in ring introductions for title matches only. Cause the past 2 matches they still introduce them during there entrance. The kinda circled a bit, looking for an opening. They grappled and pushed each other and Shawn went for Sweet Chin but Batista backed away and pulled Shawn in for a Batista Bomb but Shawn slipped out of the ring. Batista powered Shawn into the corner, then Shawn slipped out and got some punches in, but Batista irish whiped Shawn into the corner and boom huge closeline into the corner. Somehow Shawn got a chop block on Batista, Nature Boy style. Then got a arm bar on Batista, but Batista rolled through it. Batista tried lifting Shawn with his one arm that Shawn was wrapped around. It took him a couple tries and he got him up, Shawn fell forward and took them both over the top rope. Micheals then rammed the arm of Batista into the ring post. Jericho has yet to be a factor. Inside the ring, Shawn started stomping on the arm of Batista. And just worked on it for a couple minutes. Then Batista got a Samoan drop, much better then Fat Matt's from earlier. Batista tossed Shawn to the corner and Shawn did his role up the turn buckle thing, then Batista hit a closeline at full speed. It was a Slobber Knocker of a closeline according to JR. Batista then hit a couple powermoves(shoulder block, powerslam), then Shawn got the Cripple Crossface. What is this?? He yanked and yanked and Batista yelled in pain. Everytime it looked like Batista was going to escape it, Shawn locked it back in. However, Batista got the ropes and Jericho ripped Shawn off of Batista. Shawn stared him down then Batista got a sidewalk slam on Shawn and then the near fall. Shawn ducked the closeing and hit the flying forearm and hopped up, but Batista was already up and hit a big Spear. Shawn just kicked out. Batista was trying to give Shawn a superplex but Shawn pushed Batista off and hit the Elbow Drop. Time to tune the band. Who will he hit??? He's stomping....Spine Buster. Batista pumps the ropes with his one good arm. Shawn got out of the Batista bomb, but looked like he blew his knee out. Batista kept going after the fallen Shawn, but Y2J kept pushing Batista away. Eventually Shawn revealed he was playing possum and hit Sweet Chin Music on.........Batista. 1..2...3 and HBKeezie scores the win. Winner: Shawn Micheals via pinfall with th Sweet Chin Music. The match was 17 minutes long and no one attacked Jericho and Jericho made the pinfall. Jericho actually helped Shawn halfway up the stage before two other refs helped out. Maybe the injury is real. The match ended suddenly after he appeared to blow it out. Who knows. |

Randy Orton is making his rounds tonight. He visited Triple H and told him he was going to leave him broken and battered in the ring. Trips then said "Pride comes before the Fall" and Orton left. Triple H is brilliant. Buisness is about to pick up. It's time for the 12 Diva Tag Team Match. The heel divas are first led by the hottest girl in the match, Beth Pheonix. Mickey James leads out the face girls. YAY, Kelly Kelly is there. She's the hottest girl in the match. It's gonna be tough to update you all on all this action. It stared with Beth and McCool. Then McCool fought Melina. Then Mickie James came in and fought Melina. I know I'm not really telling you what ther doing, but thats because Im staring at there asses and boobs. So I dont really know what moves there doing. Now Mickie is fighting Natalia. Did you know she is Bret Hart's neice?? Mickie is now fighting Victoria. Oh there is a ensegurie. Uh oh, there all brawling on the outside. YAYA. All the boobs. Ashley got tagged in and nailed a hurricarana on Jillian. It was pretty bad, but who cares, she has a nice ass. Beth is pounding on Ashley now. Go Beth, it's your birthday. Ashely did get a nice counter and kick Beth into Melina. Mickie and Beth are in. Mickie got that DDT of hers on Beth. But then Victoria got the Widows Peak. Mc Cool botted her and Melina hit her and Kelly Kelly did the XFacor, then Cherry did something and then another girl did another thing and then some more stuff, finally a suplex by Beth on Ashley for the win. YAY. Winners: Beth,Natalia,Layla,Cherry,Lilian,Melina via pinfall. Beth pinned Ashley. The match was 11 minutes long. The Baltimore Ravens are in the house. It's time for the World Heavyweight Championship match. 2nd match with a video preveiw. Edge was the first introduced, naturally. He's looking good. Rated R Superstar baby. Then came the Legend. One of the greatest this buisness shall ever see. The Undertaker with his deserved World Championship around his waiste. But....this damn entrance is too long. It's no longer then usual...but you know. Durin the introductions Undertaker mouthed "I'm going to hurt you" to Edge. Foley pointed this out, but I realised it before he said anything cause I'm smart. They grappled up and Taker tossed Edge out of the ring right off the bat. Edge shook it off and came back in. The Taker tossed Edge to the ground into the corner. Edge eventually blocked a running Undertaker with a kick and then hit a closeine. But Taker tossed Edge into the corner and opened up on him. Foley really put over Taker's submission, talking about how it is not reversable. And on how Taker has only gotten better over the years. Which I agree. I think he his better now then ever. Just my opinion though. Undertaker dropped Edge on the guardrail on the outside. It looked pretty cool. And Edge has been getting his ass kicked. Undertaker has Edge hanging with his head outside the ring. Taker gets that leg drop vintage Undertaker style. Taker went right back at Edge with a normal leg drop in the ring. Edge got out of the Tombstone and pulled Taker's head back into that move Edge does. Then Edge went after Takers back, even going as far as spearing him in the back. Edge now a his legs locked around Taker, scissors style. But Taker turned around and got some mountain punches on Edge. Taker wanted a closeline but Edge ducked and dropkicked Taker in the back. Foley's commentating reminds me of JBL's. The two goes double closelined each other and the ref began to count. They got up and 5 and double big booted each other and again the ref counted. They were up at 5 and traded blows. Taker one the trade off, dropping Edge after about 8 punches. He's now tossing Edge from corner to corner and then hit that Snake Eyes move followed by the big boot. But Edge then reversed Old School and went up for a Superplex, but Taker pushed him off. Taker tried an elbow drop but Edge moved. And got the cover and a near fall. Edge has the World title. But Taker has him for the Chokeslam but Edge reversed and got the Russian Leg Sweep and another near fall. Edge is on the top now, but Taker grabs him and tosses him halfway across the ring. Taker goes for the coer but Edge got his foot on the rope. Time for tombstoner apperently, but Edge ripped off the turnbuckle and rammed Taker's back into the exposed steel. However Taker got a closeline and went for last ride. But while the ref was fixing the pad, Ryder hit Taker with the belt, Edge got the pin and Taker kicked out. Taker reversed the Spear into a DDT and then went for the Chokeslam. But Hawkins was on the apron and Taker tossed Edge into him, knocking him off. Taker went for Last Ride, but Edge reversed it into a sunset roll up pin, but Taker then reversed that into his submission hold. Edge hung on, longer then anyone before, but eventually tapped. Taker wouldn't let go, for a good 40 seconds after the bell rang. Vickie and the Edgeheads attended to the bleeding Edge while Taker walked off with his belt. Edge was stretchered out of the ring. Winner: Undertaker via submission with his submission. The match was about 26 minutes long. BACKSTAGE Randy Orton is waiting outside JBL's locker room and CM Punk gives Orton a pat on the shoulder and walks past him. He mad sure to flash that MITB breifcase though. Damn Punk. Dunno what Orton wanted. The main event is up. Randy Orton vs JBL vs Triple H vs John Cena. The preveiw video is awesome. That song from Punisher is playing, the one where the hitman guy sings it to Punisher in that resturant. Awesome stuff. |

Triple H is first. He's looking good. How anyone can deny his greatness, I will ever know. Everything Triple H does is the way it should be done. JBL is second. He is wearing his Mamajuana logo on his jacket. John Cena is third. Hopefully this is his last entrance for awhile. But those damn WWE fans. 48% voted for him to win. So you know what that means. When he comes back for good, the belt will be right back on him for another 3 years. Damn you. Randy Orton is the last entrant. His magnificance is mind boggling. No count outs and no DQ has just been announced. So yay. While Cena and Triple H were fighting, JBL got involved but got F-Ued for his efforts. Trips tried to Pedigree Cena but Cena flipped Trips over the top rope. Cena locked in the STFU on JBL and JBL tapped. Soon after Orton kicked Cena in the head an pinned him and he's out. JBL by Cena via STFU submission Cena by Orton via kick to head pinfall. Trips and Orton are left. I am a happy man. |

If Cena and JBL were not in the match, no one would have noticed. Triple H and Orton wrestled a classic. Honestly it was very very good. It wasn't quite as good as the No Mercy one, but these guys got what it takes. It was the best match so far in 2008 bar none. Triple H won after a bunch of counters and he hit the Pedigree. Great great great match. Well as soon as JBL and Cena were gone anyway. I gotta go watch it again. See ya later. |
