It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

After months of chasing Randy Orton and the WWE Championship, The Game is finally back on top. Triple H won the hard-fought Fatal Four Way Elimination Match at Backlash to reclaim his throne as The King of Kings and become the new WWE Champion.

As Triple H knows from experience with this being his 12th reign as World Champion, when you’re at the top, the target is on your back. Who will set their sights on The Game and his newly won gold? Will Randy Orton be looking to regain the WWE Championship and reinstate the “Age of Orton”?

Also, after defeating three Superstars in one night last week on Raw, General Manager William Regal will be officially coronated Monday night as the 2008 King of the Ring, in a ceremony full of pomp and prestige. Will the newest English monarch be a benevolent ruler or a cruel dictator? Will The King of Kings and new WWE Champion steal his glory? We'll find out as the crown and scepter are bestowed to Regal Monday night.

Last night, Shawn Michaels put his body on the line and gave everything to finally silence Batista once and for all. Will HBK be well enough to make it to the ring after the heated battle? Will Batista have gotten the point and leave The Showstopper alone?

Fully recovered from the Money in the Bank Match at WrestleMania XXIV, Mr. Kennedy will make his triumphant return to Raw. Will he be looking to throw his hat into the ring with the new WWE Champion? Or will he decide to avenge his loss at WrestleMania? What’s up next for the Green Bay loudmouth as Raw hits the Garden State?

Backlash also saw The Glamazon get the win in the 12-Diva Tag-Team Match by pinning Ashley. Was this just a message to Michelle McCool and Women’s Champion Mickie James? Will Beth Phoenix be aiming to get revenge on McCool for her slap last Monday, or will she focus on regaining the WWE Women’s Championship?

We’ll see the answer to all these questions and more when Monday Night Raw airs live at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

Triple H is the WWE Champion. Will he keep the Spinning Title design? I hope not.

Regal will get crowned and Kennedy returns.

Now that Triple H has won the WWE Title, I have once again set myself up for disappointment. I just don't see Triple H walking around with that ugly WWE Title. I don't care if WWE did make it stop spinning. It is still an ugly, piece of shit design that does not look like a respectable top title at all. Here's hoping they move past that design once and for all. I wasn't a big fan of the Undisputed title design, but I'd gladly welcome it back if it meant the current design went away. Come on, come on, come on. :crossfingers:

Of course, my excitement for this week's Raw was set last week when Kennedy's promo aired. I've been watching Kennedy clips on Youtube all week. It's easy to see how much he's grown as a performer over his short WWE career. And his growth as a performer is just going to continue. I'm hoping that whatever backlash he got for that bad media disaster last year has faded and WWE is ready to once again give him the proverbial ball to run with. I don't think Kennedy is ready to be in the WWE Title scene, but I would love to see him given the IC Title for a while. We haven't had an exciting IC champion in years.

I don't care that much for Kennedy anymore. I really liked his time on SD, but I'm not liking his stay on Raw so far (it's kinda hard for me to give a damn about him today). He just seems to be one more guy on the Raw roster.

I wanted Orton's reign to last for a few more months. If Triple H would've taken it at SummerSlam, that would've been better for multiple reasons. :(

Oh well...

I hope the belt design is changed, too, but I highly doubt it will be. Even if it did, it'd probably return whenever Cena gets it back.

EmWhy: Would this have to do because of Kennedy's performances or his "here today, gone tomorrow" appearances this past year? He's been away months at a time with injuries and making that movie no one is going to watch, which makes it hard for him to build towards anything. Since you were a Kennedy fan but now find your interest in him waning, which is causing your disinterest?

I know I was finally starting to find him interesting after never giving a damn back around last summer during the Vince McMahon is dead thing...then he lied to the press and disappeared for awhile.

That basically extinguished the spark of potential fandom for me.

Yeah, his "start and stop" pushes are annoying, but he still gets great crowd receptions. I'm hoping the fact that they went as far as to hype Kennedy's return (even if it was just a one week hype) means they are looking to give him another push. As long as he stays injury free and doesn't put his foot in his mouth again, then he'll do just fine. He's got the talent. He's got the mic skills. He's got the charisma. I'm going to try to pay attention to the reception he gets when he returns to see if he's lost any crowd support with his recent away time. I'll probably have to rewind the tape, because I just know I'll be marking out when I hear "Kennedy!!!....I turn up the trouble til it gets real loud. I feel so much better that way...". :excited:

His current song sounds horrible. The old one suited him much better (dunno how to explain that). He still needs to work on his in-ring skills (mic skills and charisma, he's got that). And the way Kennedy has been used on Raw just made me stop giving a damn about him. He hasn't done anything note-worthy there, except being on the verge of a big push at the expense of Vince McMahon and having some good matches with HBK (but HBK can have good matches with almost anyone).

When I saw the "Kennedy returns" video, I was like "okay, he returns, whatever..." after seeing it.

I'm excited for Kennedy to return to, but you all have come to known this, or think so......anywho, I'm rooting for Kennedy to get put in line with an IC reign myself here soon since he didn't get to be and win the KOTR, they can build him up towards the world title from there. Ah, I still remember when it was like that at one time, memories, memories, nevermind. The IC title hasn't been taken seriously in a good while and having Kennedy hold it could establish it to be a belt worthy of wanting and not just the main one.

I still haven't found out the whole ordeal with why Kennedy was left out of the KOTR, if something turns up, I'll say it, if not, oh well, it's in the past.

When I saw HHH won, I was thinking it was only a matter of time. Cena is about to or I think he might be shooting his movie so that could take affect on why he hasn't been crowned champion since he didn't really lose it. He should be getting it back before the end of the year though.

JBL just recently started wrestling so it wouldn't really made sense to give him the belt right away. Many thought that was going to be the case when Jericho returned. HHH has been main eventing just about every other week or more, don't know I haven't paid much attention in the past year except right before WM and a bit more now. I knew Orton's reign was coming to an end when HHH came back, it was being said that he was going to be the one to "teach Orton a lesson" or some crap.

I predict a heel turn for HHH in the next 3-4 months since he's been wanting one for sometime, I'm betting he was just waiting to have the belt back to do so. Though I heard of a possible DX reunion one more time next month, not sure if it's going to be live or a house show.

Looks like that move to SD! was just a rumor, like it was going to happen anyways. But hey, there's a draft coming up, so maybe he and Taker can switch? Nah.

I hope they'll do something with Kennedy since they're hyping his return. I read a report that he might be looking for revenge on someone for the MITB match. If HHH is headed for a long title reign, it'd be all the more smarter for them to change the belt design to something more prestigious.

If the title design does not change, I think Cena will be WWE Champion by the end of the year. I also think that HHH and Orton could take some time off to spend it with their new offsprings as well (Orton's getting a girl). Which could leave Cena to hold the belt eventually.

The ending to the match, with Regal cutting the footage, was brilliant as hell. Hopefully, in the next few minutes, WWE.com will have the title match result posted.

Monday Night Raw went off the air without a definitive winner as the storyline was William Regal forced the show to go off the air. Live in the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ, WWE champion Triple H and Randy Orton brawled before Orton powdered out and Triple H's music hit. There was no announced winner.

John Bertollo sent this in just moments ago from tonight's Monday Night Raw taping in East Rutherford, NJ when Raw went off the air before the conclusion of the WWE Championship Match between Triple H and Randy Orton could be shown:

"Orton got the rope during the Crossface. William Regal came out and said the crowd disrespected him so the match was over. As Orton was leaving, Triple H grabbed Orton and Pedigreed him. Triple H posed (to end the show)."

So I take it that Triple H is using the Crossface as his submission regularly now?

It doesn't really work for him (I'd prefer the figure four) but I guess it's nice to at least see the move on a regular basis again.

Yep, Kennedy is back and is as over as ever. I'm not living in denial. I know he didn't get the same level of reaction that Triple H got at the start of the show. But Kennedy's start and stop pushes have not diminished his fan support at all. And on top of that, it looks like they are finally going ahead with the Kennedy face turn, which means he's just going to get even more popular. I am worried about his face turn though, since he's such a natural heel and I like heels better than faces. I hope he doesn't become bland as a face. But I'm excited by his return and excited to see what they do with him as face. Come on IC Title run. :crossfingers:

And who could have missed that punch Regal gave Kennedy. It looked legit. Obviously, it was scripted into the show, but it looked like a real punch. It sounded like a real punch. And Kennedy's mouth was bloody and swollen as if he took a real punch. You got to respect a man that will take a hardway punch to the mouth like that. "Mister Kennedy!...Kenne (pow)". Smooth!

Ok, now that I've marked out from Kennedy's return, I'll move onto the other great part of Raw. That being Orton/Triple H. These two pair well together and was giving us a great free tv title match. It wasn't as good as the Joe/Angle match from Impact, but it was a great match nonetheless. I actually liked the ending to the match. It was different from what we've seen in the past, makes you want to see more of Triple H vs Orton and furthers Regal's new power-hungry gimmick. I liked it.

I was disappointed that Triple H wore that ugly ass title design. I knew there wouldn't be a change, but I was hoping like hell that there would have been. Triple H just looks silly with that thing around his waist.

I'm also disappointed that Triple H is trying to become Benoit's clone. Look, we all know Benoit was great (well, not as a man, but as a wrestler), but Triple H is great on his own. He doesn't need to steal Benoit's catchphrases and finishing moves. Damn.

Cena is out of the title hunt and is in a mid-card feud with JBL. That's good stuff, fellas.

One thing I noticed when Regal punched Kennedy was it was with his right fist but Kennedy's lip was bloodied on his left so I'm thinking he might have gotten hit when they were rolling around the ring kicking and hitting one another, most likely an accident.

Enjoyable main event. Rest of the show, so so. Good to see Burchill back, even it's probably not for long, it seems they really have nothing for him since the incest angle fell threw. Maybe he'll get moved to SD! where they need people.

Shortly after Raw went off the air William Regal ordered that the Triple H vs. Randy Orton match be stopped.

Hunter argued with referee Mike Chioda and ended up grabbing Orton and hitting the Pedigree.

Triple H then posed with the WWE Championship belt and Lilian Garcia thanked everyone for attending.

Regal's a southpaw, so he'd naturally punch with his left.

But, wow. I didn't think he could punch as fast as he did.

That Crossface annoys the hell out of me. It takes a lot out of the match knowing that the person who popularized that variation killed his son with it...

Cool finish, though. I thought it would have been a bit cooler if it just cut off, no sound, no nothing, but it was still a good ending. Something that hasn't been seen in awhile.

This week’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW featuring the uncompleted main event with Triple H vs. Randy Orton scored a 3.3 cable rating on the USA Network, based on data compiled by Nielsen Media Research. The first hour did a 3.1 while the second hour did a 3.5.

That's kinda funny...

Triple H and his using the Crossface- I dunno what the hell is going on. Big Show used it. HBK used it. And Triple H used it all at Backlash. Like what the hell is going on here? So it's not only Triple H. As far as catchphrases go, ya right.

Kennedy- He was fine on RAW. The crowd was into him and he looked like he had lost some weight. Of course Regal ass raped him on the mic and then punched him the face, so really at the end of the night it's like Kennedy who? Although Kennedy did well on the post punch brawl. Regal was better. Details though. Details.

Santino/Carlito- I love these guys. Santino is one of the best on the mic in the WWE. And Carlito is one of the best wrestlers in the WWE. They team great together. I'm just waiting for Carlito's heat cools down, and he can get is well deserved push to the top.

JBL- I thought he was the best on RAW. Did a killer Closeline On Hell on Robbie(hahah), and then had the best mic promo of the night at the announce table.

HBK/Y2J- I'm the best. But I can't tell you where this one is going. I have no clue.

Triple H/Orton- It's weird, cause these two have faced before. They faced during the Evolution fued. But Orton wasn't that good then, so the matches weren't that great. Then they faced during the DX/RKO fued before Trips injury. And Triple was in the worst shape of his life and was pretty slow, the matches werent good. Flashforward to Triple H's return. He's in shape. Orton has matured into the best wrestler in the world. And these two have done nothing but steal the show together. At No Mercy they had one of the best matches of 2007, that Last Man Standing. At Backlash when it came down to them, they had the best match by far so far in 2008. On RAW there match wasn't half as good as what they did at Backlash, but it was there best match on RAW for sure. And the best part of it all. There my 2 favorite wrestlers, and I bet I predicted something like this awhile back. I'm so good it amazes me sometimes.
