The Cauliflower Alley Club was informed today that Nellya Burres-Baughman, who wrestled as Judy Grable, died at approximately 2:40 this morning.

Grable began her career in 1938 and was a top wrestler on the women's wrestling scene for many years. It was in a tournament in 1956 that, it is claimed, where Fabulous Moolah defeated Judy Grable to win the Women's Title that Moolah would go on to hold for many years.

The only reason I ever heard her name was because she lost to Moolah. But, all the same, R.I.P.

How can she be legendary if no one has heard of her?

If it wasn't for Moolah's HOF induction this year, then I would've never heard of her before, either. Rest in peace.

This thread is absurd. It's almost like typing RIP has become a freaking habit!

Judy Grable started wrestling in 1938 at the age of 13. She wrestled in women's independent promotions which were early promotions of women. She won the AWW Women's Championship on May 14, 1947 which was her first and early success as a professional wrestler. Judy Grable was very beautiful and this attracted people. She was mainly a heel.

Through her heelitic works, Judy Grable was not liked by fans. She challenged Mildred Burke for the World Women's Championship on several occasions. She wrestled in the National Wrestling Alliance territories through the 1940s and the 1950s. She defeated The Fabulous Moolah on July 21, 1952 and feuded with Moolah.

In 1956, a tournament was held to determine the new NWA World Women's Champion. She showed a wonderful performance and advanced to the final round of the tournament on September 18, 1956 when she lost to long-time rival The Fabulous Moolah which made Moolah, the first-ever NWA World Women's Champion.

There's a little info on her.

Basically, if anyone wrestled before 1960, they get called a legend. I just copied and pasted the title of the article.

"Legend" is probably the most abused word in professional wrestling.
