Mr. Kennedy suffered a dislocated shoulder during a match with Shelton Benjamin on Monday night in Macon, Ga., according to JRsbarbq.com. Jim Ross noted that Kennedy is expected to be "out of action for a few weeks depending on the results of his latest MRI."

Hopefully, this will not keep him out of action long. But, geez, this guy gets hurt like every few months. :(

Well, he wasn't inline for a push anytime soon anyway. He should enjoy that stay at home.

I don't know. It looked like he was going to feud with Shelton for the US strap.

I always blamed his previous injuries on him being such shitty shape. But he looked like he was in good shape the last little while. Hmm, maybe he just isn't a man.

That's what I thought as well. They may not have the same plans of pushing Kennedy like they had 2 years ago (and with his injury record, I cannot blame them for being a bit hesitant), but Kennedy is one of the most over mid carders in the entire company. As long as he's popular then there is a chance of some sort of push, even if it isn't a huge scale push.

If it's just a dislocated shoulder, then Kennedy shouldn't be out of action for long. If he just cannot wrestle for a few weeks, then there's every chance that his program with Shelton will continue...only verbally. Kennedy hasn't had a PPV match since WrestleMania back in April, so him not being on SummerSlam isn't that unexpected.

From Kennedy's website:

Here's the deal: I have a torn labrum, which basically is a muscle in the shoulder joint that holds everything in place. I also have some damage in the rotator cuff muscles, but it's from the accumulative effects of being in the ring for ten years. I'm going to spend the next two weeks in Pensacola doing two-a-day rehab sessions. I will also be working out the other parts of my body that aren't hurt by swimming, sprinting, cycling, leg training, and eating 6 nutritious high protein meals a day. After two weeks, Doc Andrews will assess my progress and determine if I have to have surgery or not. If not, I'll have an additional 2 to 4 weeks before I can return to the ring. If surgery is required, I'll be out for 4-6 months.

PWInsider.com reports that Ken Kennedy is scheduled for shoulder surgery this Friday. Kennedy injured his shoulder during a house show match with Shelton Benjamin earlier this month, and has been working lightly ever since.

Kennedy was diagnosed with a torn labrum and damage to his rotator cuff by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama. After two weeks of rehab and no progress, it was determined he would require surgery.

He is expected to miss four to six months after the procedure, which will be performed by Dr. Andrews.

Every single time Kennedy starts getting his momentum back, he either gets injured, puts his foot in his mouth, or works on outside projects. His face turn wasn't working out well on Raw at all, but he was quickly getting back over on SD! There was a time, even when he was a heel, that he was the most over mid-carder in the entire company (before Jeff returned, he owns that title now). Well, he was getting to that level again on SD!, even though he never added depth to his face character. Now he's gone for another extended leave which means he's going to have to once again claw his way back up to where he was before he has any hopes of going forward. I like Kennedy. I think he has all the tools needed to be a big name for WWE, but I can completely understand why WWE stopped pushing him as hard as they were a few years ago. Why push someone that you cannot reliably plan long term around? :(
