It was pretty solid. Better than the first and third Raimi films. |

I saw it and thought it was pretty good. I kind of like how it's the opposite compared to the other series. I felt the new guy didn't do very well as Peter Parker, because he's nothing like how he's supposed to be. The guy was actually kind of creepy and stalker-ish, and had almost no real-life issues as opposed to the ones Peter is supposed to have. Also hated how Gwen Stacey was just some generic love interest who for no apparent reason digs Peter... oh well, aside from that, he did an amazing job as Spidey, which McGwire didn't pull off very well at all. Toby's strength was definitely being an awesome Peter Parker, so in that regard they're opposites. For me it goes: 1. Spiderman 2 2. Spiderman 3. The Amazing Spider Man 4. Spiderman 3 I'm not sure if I can like another Superhero movie over Spiderman 2, no matter what anyone says about the Dark Knight. Spiderman is just my favorite comic character, and that movie dealt with issues no other comic book movie has attempted since then. |

It's a fabulous new day, yes it is!

I just saw TAS not much ago. Really awesome film. I'd put it just slightly below Spider-Man 2. This was more of a character-driven take on Spider-Man rather than just being your average superhero film. Not surprising considering Marc Webb was known for directing (500) Days of Summer, a romantic dramedy film. Andrew Garfield has the edge over Maguire in being a funnier Spider-Man, playing the romantic angles and the "science genius" aspect (to be fair with Tobey, the scripting didn't put him over strong in that aspect). Maguire's Parker/Spidey is a better fighter, geek, nicer person and hero. Edited by MY85, Jul 10 2012, 08:01 AM.
